Same ol' same ol'. 80% of the patrons use their corporate credit cards to pay for dinner (they deserve it, ya know!) Tables filled with 4 men in suits ravishing their 14 ounce porterhouse, loaded baked potato, and huge wedge of iceberg lettuce while drinking a Sam Adams- you get it!
It's a shame that corporate America has destroyed what used to be enjoyable about going to a high end steakhouse like Bob's. Many of us would save money for months to eat in a place like this. However, it just isn't worth it anymore.
Steaks are great, they skimped on their shrimp cocktail (16 count at best and always overcooked), and service is ok. They still do the ala carte sides for 8-12 bucks which could feed 10 people! However, over 50% of the mashed potatoes, etc... end up in the trash! But, does it matter? NO!! Mr. "Busniess Guy" is paying with his corparate (us)- paid credit card. Why? Because he deserves it!!
Buy a steak at your local grocery (have their butcher cut a 3/4-1 inch thick steak). Cook it in a pre-heated (very hot) iron cast skillet for 2 minutes a side, add a little butter, and broil for 5 minutes. Season it lightly for taste. $12.99 gets you a close, if not better, porterhouse and you won't have to be around the people who are destroying this country.
