We've heard from the locals that Pecos is stressed trying to deal with the influx of travelers to their little town and the Denny's is definitely a case in point. Our poor waitress was overwhelmed even though the restaurant was not busy at that time.... She mixed up our order with an adjacent table, forgot our cutlery, did not refill our water at all, and brought the salad and bread after our entrees were done. What bothered me most was how dirty the floor was - the influx of dusty and dirty oil patch workers can't explain how sticky and filthy the floor was. It certainly hadn't been cleaned in a long while. The town of Pecos has to do something and something quickly to attract more service workers and train them in the art of clean, friendly service. You will be losing customers as they traverse the I-20 as they may likely choose to stop elsewhere along the way.
