“Not too bad”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

Fairly nice course for a day out. Holes not marked very well, but not too hard to figure out. Greens well kept and fairways good to play from.

“Terrible management unfortunate they had nice employees.”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

On a nice January day one may expect several players to want to play but not Southwyck management. New starter could not organize enough carts and moved people with reserved tee times later to make way for walk up employees and volunteers. After an hour past our tee time we left. Hope our green fees help hire enough employees to run a golf course. Have played there many times but cheap green fees do not make up for the disasterous lack of management. The GM so poorly planned he had no help and he was pulling carts to the front that were not cleaned. With management it could be a decent course but not now. Avoid this disaster until new management is in place. At the rate business was lost today and with all the upset customers the employees will have it to themselves shortly.

“Southwyck Golf Club”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

Played Southwyck a couple of times recently. They are definitely making some marked improvements to the golf course. Southwyck is a great layout to begin with but they have always had issues with their sand bunkers. Management there has a project underway to remove or reduce the size of some of their bunkers but not to the extent it diminishes the level of difficulty. Where bunkers are being removed, those areas are being resodded. They are working on all the remaining bunkers to get them back into shape.
I commend management of Southwyck on their efforts to bring this golf course back to great shape once again.
Really no complaints about the course, the staff, the grill or the pro shop. Lots of 1st class people working there.

“Avoid”

Links style course. Clubhouse didn't mention the entire back 9 was undergoing green renovations. Charged me full fare anyway. Always 5 hour + rounds on weekend. Play Timber Creek instead.

“Should have learned”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

I was looking for a last minute tee time on Christmas Eve. Called the clubhouse several times. They never answered so I booked a tee time on-line. When we arrived the staff informed us they would be closing in 1 hour (2pm) and all carts had to be in. The rest of my group elected to not play but since they would let me walk the course I decided to stay. The staff was very ambivalent to the point of being rude. I pared up with a group of 3 and we immediately found ourselves behind two groups of 5. They took away our cart on hole 4. Fortunately most everyone left with the carts and I was able to walk the course with minimal delays.
