The Luther is not for those looking for a sparkling new spa retreat, but it is the perfect stay for those who appreciate history, character and quiet evenings. We had a fantastic time walking along the piers and sitting on the front porch. Our bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was neat and clean. Exactly what we hoped for. We will return soon.

Step back In time, at The Luther a hotel. We just spent 2 wonderfull days at this historic hotel. We stayed In the Magnolia room, 2nd floor, the bed was really comfortable, room was small, but again that is the way rooms were back in the day. Jack the owner/innkeeper is a gem, gave us suggestions on dinning, which we took, and were very pleased. Jack is full of the history of the hotel and the area, he made us feel at home, let me say it this way...it's like going to visit your favorite family/friend and they invite you into their home to stay, warm and welcoming. The front porch is so inviting with rockers and the view of the water. My morning was coffee and a book on the front porch while my husband slept in. Enjoyed our stay immensely and will go back again, Thanks Jack.

The Luther is a fantastic hotel. A very historic lodge. Right actross from the bay playground and fishing pier. The hotel is undergoing renovations which are time consuming as they have to be done in keeping with The Luther's historical heritage. Be sure to read the letters from President Johnson while you are there. We will be going back for a weekend stay with our kids.

This hotel is such a great escape from the big city chaos. If you appreciate history and the simple things in life, you will enjoy this hotel. The beautiful front porch area is very inviting as is the front lobby/sitting area. The kitchen area is full of old pictures, books, and photo albums which contain the history of the hotel. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful and squeaky wooden floors and antique furniture add such a great charm. You will be taken back in time as you walk through the halls of this hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. The owner, Jack, was very friendly and made us feel at home. I am looking forward to returning and spending more time here.

Great prices for such a beautiful old hotel. It's not new. It's not updated, but that's not why you go to the Luther. It's historical and you can stand in the same spot as Rita Hayworth and several U.S. Presidents :) Our trip was made even better by the owner, who knows the history of the place by heart. Be sure to poke around downstairs. There's history tucked into every nook and cranny.
