Good fajitas, good tortillas, interesting salsa. Service was fast and friendly. Stopped for a late lunch on the way back from El Paso.

“ALWAYS GREAT !!”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

On 22 April, 2012 while driving to BANDERA, TEXAS we stopped for breakfast after leaving Ft. Stockton. Since 2007, we have been visiting this great little restaurant at least once while diving between our California home and Texas. It is always ''super clean'' and has great food and very friendly staff. Wish they were at my home town in Texas or California. The building is old, but well painted and kept. Great Mexican food, and very reasonable.

“Welcomed surprise”
Reviewed February 7, 2012

We were driving across Texas and just did not want a fast food lunch. After driving through the main part of Ozona, we discovered Pepe's, in a great little purple building with a fountain in front and lots of parking. The interior is festive, and in addition to the colorful decor, you will find sports memorabilia and some very interesting paintings of rock stars, PLUS an iPod Jesus. Lisa was just what a small restaurant waitress should be: friendly, knowledgeable, and bantering with the many locals who sound like this is their regular lunch spot, their Cheers.

As a native Texan, I judge Mexican restaurants by their frijoles refritos - refried beans. These were smooth, nicely seasoned, and with not a hint of grease. All of us who had Mexican food thought it was very good, and the one family member who had a BLT raved about the amount and crispiness of the bacon. I am allergic to dairy and that is often a big problem in Mexican food restaurants; not at Pepe's, where the cook made adjustments so that I too could enjoy a very nice meal. Take the main exit from IH 10 and follow the access road on the north side of the highway. Curve past the gas and fast food places, pass America's Best Inn, and you will see the purple building.
