This is not Mexican food or even Tex-Mex. They melt Velveta cheese and put it on everything. The food is very bland and the salsa tastes like regular Picante sauce.

Good portions. Tasty. Lots of thing to try. Most were just a little different from the standard Mexican recipe.

Have to try the 3G Margarita. Don't let the fact its on the rocks scare you…its very tasty & smooth, but watch out…they sneak up on you!

There was no wait. The service was excellent. The refried beans were bland. The chicken tacos were very good. The queso was different than we are used to (it was yellow cheese).

The food was the usual Tex Mex cuisine: fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, etc., served on a large plate half of which is covered with overcooked Mexican rice and pureed beans. They start you out with homemade tortilla chips and thin salsa and 10 or so minutes later bring out a bowl of passable queso. The service was amateurish, but friendly. The real problem for me was the general grubbiness of the place. I felt like Niles from "Frazier" who always felt compelled to wipe his chair down with a handkerchief before sitting in it. There are two parts: the inside and the covered outside. The outside is nastier with birds and insects darting about, so sit inside. They have made an attempt at quaintness in the general Gruene style with the interior decor, which is not bad but would work way better if the place was clean.
