“Good American style restaurant”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

A good place near the river in town. Friendly atmosphere. Good old fashioned food. I like the chicken fried steak rest of the family likes the enchiladas and nachos. Wish they had a bigger beer selection is all.

“Business lunch”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

Standard lunch menu, they have been in business for many years, the food is good, the place could use some freshening up.

“Not just for tubers”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

Located right next to the Comal River, Pat's gets swamped by river tourists in the summer, but the staff manages to handle the crowds well, expect a wait for a table during busy summer hours though. You might think that it's mostly a tourist place, because of its location and big crowds of floaters in the summer, but Pat's does a brisk business with locals all year long. The burgers are good. The chicken enchiladas with green sauce and sour cream is what I usually get. Different from the typical Tex-Mex, they have a creamy filling. The green sauce is tangy, but not too hot (something I run into from time to time with green enchiladas). I'd stay away from the spaghetti, which is popular, but the noodles are usually overcooked to the point of being mushy. The sauce is very meaty and hearty though, so if you eat your pasta soft, you'd probably love it. They have daily specials, which can be hit or miss. Vegetarians can order a plate of 3 or 5 sides (kind of like Threadgill's in Austin, but not as good.

“good spot”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

5 of us for dinner, seated promptly and smooth sailing from then on out.
they have a large variety - a lot of deep fried food, but that night they had lasagna which one of our party had and said to was quite good. the rest of us had burgers or grilled chicken sandwiches. All was good. Thanks for a pleasant experience.

“Great chicken fried chicken”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Order the chicken fried chicken with fries and a side salad. Chicken tasted grreat and was a large postion, covered in white gravey. The fires were home style and still hot when served. Salad was crisp and also a large prtion
Even though the restaurant was full of customers, the service was fast and fiendly. Waitress made our party of three feel welcomed. We were invited to come and we certainly will!
