Had a wonderful stay! First time to visit Gruene for me, my wife has been before. The location of your B&B was perfect, we walked to the dance hall and to the local shops and eateries. Your facility, more like a cozy home, was spotless, and it’s obvious you try hard to keep it that way! I couldn’t wait to try ...the breakfast and it was beyond my expectations. SO much and SO delicious! Ended up eating a mid day lunch since we were so satisfied from breakfast. The room was impeccable and cozy, also enjoyed the balcony, played my guitar while enjoying the view. Looking forward to another stay!

We just got back from a nice stay at the Gruene Mansion Inn. The property is lovely and the atmosphere is incredibly charming. It is right in the middle of the best of historic Gruene. You can walk everywhere you want to go. The room we had (Sunday Haus) was a little small, but it worked just fine. The king bed upstairs was very comfortable. Our children slept downstairs on the trundle bed and while it was a little cramped with the trundle pulled out, we managed just fine. The breakfast here is incredible. There is a huge selection of freshly made items. The staff is very friendly. They keep the breakfast buffet well stocked and are helpful in cleaning up. Check in and out was a breeze. All in all, you cannot beat the atmosphere here. The property is historic, peaceful, and beautiful. The only drawback to staying here is the noise level. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night. Sunday was not so bad, but on Saturday it was hard to get any sleep. There is a restaurant/bar right in front of the building where we stayed. It was just across the parking lot and about 70 feet from our room. They had live music until about 11 pm. You could literally hear it like you were right there in the audience. When that band finished playing, you could hear the act over at Gruene Hall. They played until after midnight. After that there were plenty of partiers around the property and you could plainly hear them laughing, yelling, honking car horns, etc. etc. All this continued until well after 2 am. So, if you aren't planning on going to bed until after 2 am, it won't be a problem for you. But if you, like us, have things planned for early the next morning, it will be really hard for you to get any sleep. There is nothing the Gruene Mansion Inn staff can do about the noise level, it is just part of being in this area. Maybe if you get a room near the river you will have a quieter experience.

This truly is an excellent B&B, however you need to be very mindful when selecting your room. We wanted a view of the river so we stayed in the "River Hideout", which is one of the Rooms with a View, and not part of the main house. Each of these rooms has a lovely semi-private wooden porch. In my personal opinion the downside was the lack of privacy avaliable in this room. To get the most out of the view the front of the room, which is the bedroom has 2 windows and a large pane of glass in the door. Although there are pull down shades, you still don't feel like you have complete privacy in your bedroom. If you can see out through the sides of the shades, then clearly people can see in as well. Another downside to this particular building of the B&B were the porches. Although they are very country, comfy wooden porches with wooden rocking chairs, they aren't the best thing early in the morning. You could hear every move your neighbors made, which made is very hard to sleep in. Another small thing to consider is the B&B rooms have wooden floors and the beds have wheels. Which is interesting, if you catch my drift.

Room Tip: Book your reserv. by phone, tell them what u want.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Gruene Mansion Inn. It was such a wonderful experience. The room was so charming and overlooked the river. It was secluded and private. The staff was very hospitable and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. We got home yesterday and I am already trying to make the cheddar bacon biscuits. They are to die for! I love the history that is tied to this place. It is right in the middle of Gruene so everything is literally a minute away. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. We plan to spend many anniversaries here.

Room Tip: The River Tree Loft has a great view of the river.

First off Gruene is one of my favorite places ever...so cute and quaint. Gruene hall is super fun and this inn is right next door. The service was perfect....sweet and attentive. The rooms are rustic and southern, really cozy too. One of my favorite parts about staying here was eating the complimentary AMAZING breakfast prepared by the most adorable lil lady...can't remember her name. I cant wait to go back to Gruene.

I stayed in the Grand River Lodge with some girlfriends and we all had the BEST time! The room was perfect for our group, incredibly clean, and had a great porch with a view of the Guadalupe River! The Mansion is in walking distance to shopping, dining, and Gruene Hall! Breakfast amazing- the chefs were so friendly and engaging, and the food was to die for! Everything from check-in to check-out was fantastic and I can't wait to return!
