“Pies! Oh, the pies!”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

This is a great family oriented, family run restaurant. We never visit my son without at LEAST one visit to Jay Cafe.
Their food is so good and their pies are to die for! My particular favorites are the chocolate and the coconut creme pies.
The prices are great.
The staff is attentive and the atmosphere is very friendly.
On this last visit, I tried the chili for the the first time and it was terrific.

“Plan on going back”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

Ate here for the first time. Great atmosphere. Something happened with our ticket so we had a really long wait but everything tasted fresh and homecooked. They also gave us free peanut butter pie and chocolate creme pie since we had to wait. Best restaurant pie I've had in a really long time!!

“A Personal Favorite”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

We love this place! We have been going here since shortly after they opened. We have never had a meal that wasn’t great. The owner is ALWAYS in the dining room. Some of his kids are among the wait staff. His wife is in the kitchen. This is a family restaurant at its best. When your waitress comes over to the table as you are finishing and says “Would you like some pie, my Mom made it this morning.” You KNOW you better have some of that pie! You will NOT be sorry! We have had the Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, and we once brought home an WHOLE peach cobbler when we stopped in with out of town guests. The desserts are as good as the main courses. When they opened, we lived less than 50 miles away . Now it is over a hundred miles, but we will STILL go out of our way to eat there any time we are even a little closer. One of our favorite restaurants in the state.

Yummy homemade cooking! Everything we have had has been delicious. The onion strings are not greasy! Must try the pie!
