This seems to be THE place to eat in downtown Midland. It began as a stable, then became some kind of shop, and ended up as a restaurant. You MUST have a reservation on the weekend. It is packed to the gills and you still may have to wait even if you have one. The food is excellent as is the wine list. The salmon is great, as is the clam chowder. The green salad is not up to par with the rest of the menu, which is not a vegetarian's delight. It's heavy on the meat. Wait staff are fairly good, but very busy, maybe understaffed, so you wait more than you'd like to for assistance.

Wall Street Bar & Grill has been open in the same location for at least 30 years and it continues to serve good food in a unique atmosphere. The menu hasn't changed much over the years and that's fine with me. As with any restaurant that has been open this long, WSB&G has had times when it was better than others, but I've been there two times recently and both times I've felt that WSB&G was at the top of its game. Service has always been very good but sometimes a little slow when the place is crowded, which is frequent. This is not a good place for a business meeting where you want to discuss serious matters--the old tin ceiling reflects every bit of noise to the extent that it is sometimes difficult to carry on a normal conversation, but that's OK because you should be busy eating! The salad and bread are excellent and always the same. The seafood/shrimp gumbo is the best in town. WSB&G offers a good steak, but I personally like their seafood, with the blackened orange roughy being a favorite of mine. You won't go wrong with almost any selection on the menu.

Sunday Brunch at Wall Street is a favorite place for my wife and I -- chicken fried steak with eggs any style includes great potatoes and English muffin. By the way -- where did the photo on this site come from? It was not taken at Wall Street ...

Heavenly Hot Bread with Real Butter! Great Coffee! You won't believe it, but I ate all this: Fresh garden salad, Steak cooked to well-done perfection with sauteed mushrooms, fantastic baked potato, delicious sweet-potato fries, crunchy and delicate onion rings... and to top all that off a divine hot Gold Brick ice cream dessert. The second evening: great margarita, fried gulf shrimp, similar vegetables, and chocolate mousse cake topped with whipping cream! The staff was very professional with great service! Overall, a great place to dine!

Great salad, good menu but very loud and crowded. Would go again for the great food and excellent service. It has a personality of its own. One of those places you don't forget about.
