Tucked away just off the road to Dunvegan, the Edinbane Inn is a recently refurbished pub/restaurant. Their staff were warm and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. We dressed up a bit but we could have worn clean jeans and a jumper. The food in the pub section looked heart and smelled wonderful - however we had booked for the restaurant. The small menu is creative without being fussy and the chef clearly knows how to let good ingredients shine. The salmon cured in vodka starter was amazing as was the smoked venison. We also had the scallops (not had better anywhere outside Sydney) and the pork which was exquisite. Puddings were also excellent - chocolate delice with a to-die-for mint ice-cream and a lavender pannacotta for me (delicate and delicious). If you are passing this way this is a no-brainer. Our bill was a mere £74 for two with drinks. Bargain! Oh and they are currently refurbisihing upstairs rooms for guests so you can have a dram or three and stop over! Book in advance - they are getting popular.
