“Good value and attentive service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013 via mobile

We visited Rushton Hall for a champagne afternoon tea to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

The food was fresh and varied (scones, cakes, sandwiches) and we also had the choice of tea or coffee as well as the glass of champagne (Laurent Perrier). We found the staff to be attentive and quick to ask if we required more drinks without interfering with our quiet couple of hours on the comfy sofas.

If you are looking for good food in beautiful surroundings, a drink or two and to be spoilt for a few hours it is well worth a visit.

Stayed for one night. The rooms were nice and spacious. But the carpets, were part smelly and not presentable. Breakfast was served to us. But not really nice. The hotel location was really nice. We had dinner outside. I travelled with my parents plus my brother. The lighting was soft and comfortable. We had problems with the hot showers. There was not sufficient flow and pressure. I used the Jacuzzi plus swimming pool. To be honest, I do not thing that I will travel back to this hotel.
Dressing gowns plus slippers were provided. The Staff members were friendly. The Lake view room was nice and had a very nice scenery.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south are quieter.

We booked a superior room for 2 days last week. Hotel is in lovely setting, Spa facilities are good. The restaurant meal was excellent but pricey. The room (william winstanley) was a let down. We could not see how this was a superior room. The heating did not work throughout our stay, even though we were told it would be on the evening we arrived. We were given an electric convector. We happened to need a sewing kit and shoe horn but neither was in room. When requesting we were asked to pay £2.50 for sewing kit!. There was no toilet brush in bathroom (advised not part of facilities). Breakfast was very good, but spoilt because asked for £2.50 extra for espresso. This was similarly requested if chosen for the set afternoon tea. All in all good but marred by small things (reminiscent of flying with low cost airlines).

Room Tip: ask to choose room form selection, if available.

The hotel and grounds are lovely and we really enjoyed our short break here. We stayed for two nights in the Garden room which was huge with a lovely outlook. It was very near to the spa which meant we could wander down in our robes and spa slippers, supplied by the hotel. The spa is one of the best I have visited with a relaxing atmosphere. We had a treatment each, which was very enjoyable. The hotel itself is steeped in history and we enjoyed exploring the different rooms. There are lots of different places to sit with a book or just to chill and relax. We also had afternoon tea in the Great Hall which was a special experience. All the staff we met were polite and friendly. The service was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody wanting a relaxing break in a place that's so much nicer than most other hotels.

Room Tip: Loved the Garden room - felt very luxurious

Booked this as a special promotional price as a bit of a treat for us and would normally be beyond our price range. Beautiful location and wonderful stately home exterior.
We stayed in the eclipse room near the spa which was wonderfully convenient for using the pool steam room etc. Very soft lighting, comfortable loungers and seats and good facilities. Really relaxing which was what we wanted. The breakfast was delicious the hot food cooked as required for each table rather than buffet style. Very good tea and coffee juices etc. Excellent service. I was spoilt for choice as smoked salmon, kippers and haddock available and I love fish as a breakfast treat.
Dressing gowns and slippers provided which is always a bonus.
Wish we'd stayed a few more nights.

Unfortunately after a severe car accident a friend and I will not be able to use our booking as I am not fit to travel. After speaking to the hotel and offering a letter from my doctor we were told we could have a refund as we are giving a months notice. We then get an email to say we can not have a refund on a transfer to another Monday night before the end of the year which will not be possible as I may still be unable to travel that far and my friend cannot take anymore time off work. This was for my birthday. The member of staff I spoke to was extremely rude and said we need to inform them if we are not using the room so they can re sell it! Also they called premier inn cheap and unable to follow their own terms and conditions as they have refunded the room we have booked with them for the same week. I would avoid this hotel if you are looking for helpful friendly staff!

I have been to Rushton Hall three times for afternoon tea and each time it gets better than the last time I went. The home made scones and cakes are always wonderful and the setting to eat them in cant get any better. Each time I have been the staff have been friendly and always happy to help. Tyrone and Sian have served me every time I have been and their service without fail has always added a extra special something to our visit. Cant wait to return again at Christmas time.
