Really lovely. We had a work function there. It was very nice, friendly staff. Food was delicious. The main hall for evening drinks was lovely and really festive with the large tree. The hotel did seem quite quiet in general, but that was good so we could have a properly company catch up! Definately recommend. Rooms were amazing, and the quality of products etc used within the bathroom and the tea and coffee making facilities were very good.

Booked for 2 people at 1.30pm midweek.

Very enjoyable experience, food was excellent and service was very good.

Started with a pot of Tea of your choice (this is unlimited and there is a huge selection), then comes a stand with scones, clotted cream, jam and a variety of 10 finger sandwiches.

Then once you have finished them, a plate of around 6 cakes come out – all very nice

At £22 per person, excellent value considering the price you pay at other venues less nice than this.

Setting was stunning, this is a truly beautiful place and has a relaxed atmosphere, doesn’t feel ‘poncy’.

Will be booking again to try lunch menu and dinner/overnight stay for next special occasion.

We spent a weekend here in early November as our mini honeymoon. A fantastic experience in every way! We used the pool area, had treatments at the spa, and walked the grounds in the sunshine. The included breakfast was generous in proportion and excellent quality. The room was beyond our expectation, large, well appointed, and very clean. The only downfall of the room was quite a hard mattress and some intermittent issues with Internet/wifi signal. Great staff and service, although the staff in the spa area (reception) weren't quite as outgoing as others we met in the hotel. The massage therapists we had were wonderful, professional and a pleasure to be around. We ate our evening meal outside the hotel in Kettering, as we found the hotel menu to be a bit gourmet and formal for our tastes. The atmosphere of this hotel is really lovely, historical qualities, while providing modern amenities and attentive service. All of it makes for a special stay. We will return. Thank you Rushton Hall!

3 others plus myself booked Afternoon Tea with Champagne, For £30 a head for a friends Birthday, which included Sandwiches we received 4 fingers each equals less than 1 sandwich each, but plenty of cakes, when we asked if we could have more sandwiches rather than cakes, we were told no that's all you are allowed per person. We al felt that this did dampen the occasion.
However having said that the service was second to none and can not be faulted plenty of tea and coffee was available

Dear Guest,

I thank you for your review and I am sorry to hear you were told we were not able to provide more sandwiches. The information was incorrect and I will make sure all staff are aware of this to avoid this issue happening again. I sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding and the disappointment caused.

Kindest regards

Overall my spa-cation at Rushton hall was a fabulous experience. As you go up the winding drive on arrival you start to feel relaxed and like royalty! The treatments were amazing, breakfast fabulous, rooms luxurious, clean and comfortable. My only gripes are that the spa allowed children into the pool area so after my fantastic back and head massage when I was floating on air and just wanted to curl up next to the pool for a snooze I has to listen to kids screaming and messing about. Perhaps a separate pool for hotel guests? Also the food was phenomenally expensive, I know it's a posh hotel but £3.40 for a cup of tea? That's just robbery.

Dear Guest,

I thank you for your review and I am sorry you did not find the Spa relaxing during your stay.

Children are able to use the Spa between 9am and 10.30am and between 4pm and 5.30pm. Those times were set up to make sure that both children and adults - residents or members - could enjoy our facilities. Children times are advertised but I sincerely apologise if you did not realise children were allowed in the spa.

Kindest regards

A lovely escape. Excellent grounds and accomodation. Staff friendly and fast to serve. The bedrooms are amazing. They had a wedding there while we stayed, but we were not able to hear it. A great place. Spa is great. The swimming pool was like swimming in mineral water.

Don't think twice about Rushton Hall - if you get the chance to stay here, just do it. We booked an overnighter through the 'Secret Escapes' website. Sometimes, when you bargain hunt, you kind of expect to get the thin end of the wedge: the room next to the lift, the tired decor, the not-very-wonderful view. While, in fact, we didn't have rooms with a view, inside was dazzling. We stayed in 'Dovecote' with its vaulted ceiling and golden beams, its little hallway and splendid bathroom. The room is comfortable and large enough to need a megaphone for conversation. Sleep quality's top notch (though we were surprised to have blankets rather than a duvet!) and amenities are great in the room, but disappointingly plain in the bathrooms (I rather expect REN, Elemis or Molton Brown in a spa hotel).

The Spa aside (and sadly we didn't have time to explore what was on offer there), one of the best features is the oak-panelled hall, with sofas the size of HMS Titanic and banqueting coffee tables. Open 24 hours, our family reunion managed to occupy a corner till 3am in there, quaffing malt whiskies and Earl Grey teas. Not together, obviously. Very comfy, and the staff didn't resent us being there at all till that ridiculous hour.

Breakfast was excellent - not too much on the plate (removing the temptation to eat way more than you actually want) but with excellent quality ingredients and beautiful home-cooked patisserie.

I'll be watching out for further escapes to this destination...
