WE begin with the menu selection of meatless meals, because I am a vegetarian but some of my friends are not, so when it comes to accommodating finicky eaters with nutritional differences there is a balance of both at Il Tramonto. I started with the cream of mushroom soup, a velvety, flavorful, taste, not gritty and a rich and perfectly silky base. The al dente tossed and sauteed mushrooms were perfectly cooked and in combination with the creaminess of the soup was heaven in my mouth. It was completely filling alone, but did come with homemade croutons in olive oil and fresh rosemary flavor. Next came the grilled vegetable pizza for my vegetarian friends and i just had a small taste but wow the vegetables actually had flavor while being grilled, really took the time to add flavors to combine, parsley, garlic and the right amount of drizzle extra virgin olive oil while grilling the peppers, eggplants, roasted onion, mushrooms, (not the raw boring taste you normally get from a veggie pizza) these were all grilled and then added.......so yummy! I wish I had ordered one just for me! Then the orders for Prawn Cocktail for J, she is a fish angel, she always wants fish, but didn't expect a seafood cocktail with giant shrimp and the decorating the glass were 2 giant prawns ready to be savored! Being part Sicilian, means freshly combined "caponata" with roasted bruschetta rolls aimed at pleasing my companion and I when this was the second time he insisted on ordering this appetizing starter. Roasted eggplant, fresh tomatoes, capers, celery, finely sliced onion, and richness combined with perfect ingredients for a simple yet elegant sauce make a worthwhile treat from back home. Second time he ordered and everyone else did as well. Tastes like home! Then it was difficult to decide main course, the luxury of vegetarian or meat, fish, chicken, it was nice to be able to have the choice. So J, Tagliatelle with Bologna (bolognese) from an old grandmas recipe in the campagnia of Bologna, I had the tomato sauce last time so the taste of homemade noodles again this time are my favorite I had it again, while the others chose Grilled and perfectly moist chicken cutlet just grilled with fresh lemon wedges and a side of "not soggy, nor greasy" french fries. GM was eating out everyone's plates all night. Deserts came with the menu, but I did not expect such quality, yet from the homemade shells of the ricotta cannolis, to the fresh strawberry semi freddo for J and the rich Tiramisu that was the perfect bitter and sweetness I love, we were satisfied with price, food, quality and the best sangria and nicely priced on the island!!!!!!! Il Tramonto is not hard to find it has a view alittle bit higher than the passing by restaurants but this place also has live music, great prices and good quality cuisine with or without meat, fish, poultry! The owners and chef are so passionate and thrilled to have guests come enjoy the freshness of their culture cuisine in Tenerife. Oh and the price all 4 of us(appetizers, main course, desserts & drinks) 45 euros! My favorite was the price may be small, but the portions are absolutely filling and perfect! Love it and will continue to return there!
