travelled as a couple in March 2013 for 7 nights. Hotel in a good location away from the hustle and bustle of beach front, but within 15 minute walk to Bars and restaurants. We were all inclusive, food was ok, plenty of choice but a bit repetitive. Our room overlooked the Golf course at the rear of the hotel which was very nice but very little direct sunshine on the balcony. Clean room, very large with seperate bedroom and lounge/kitchen area. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. My main criticism is, we were unable to keep our room as we had an evening flight, we asked if we could pay to keep our room but were told the hotel was full ( really in March ). Had to use shower/toilet block which wasn't really ideal. Overall a nice winter break but not sure if i would return.

Our average occupancy in March was 98.29%, so it is very possible that the hotel be fully booked on these clients’ departure day. If we do not have late arrivals to match the late departures and/or are not able to arrange late maid shifts, then a late check-out is just not possible. The showers in the pool area are not as convenient as the own room, but still a good option to allow a day by the pool prior to departing.

We took our 2 year old little girl on her first holiday abroad to Marylanza - It was the first time we've ever had to consider a hotel with things for the little ones. I studied trip adviser a lot before deciding on a hotel and it was the managers comments that ultimately swayed me to stay here. Before booking I got in touch with Nicole at reception by email just to discuss some of my concerns - She is a credit to this hotel and replied promptly to everything I asked.
We thought the pools were great - we had absolutely no problem getting sunbeds - at all! The food was superb with plenty of choice and we never felt short-changed. It seems some people who book at such a reasonable price expect Michelin starred chefs!! The staff in the restaurant always made a B-Line for my little girl entertaining her etc - special mention to Seby but you were all wonderful smiling all the time.

The kids entertainer was lovely with loads on energy, a great memory for names and extremely patient.

Our Room was lovely and clean and we had a large balcony which was nice to sit out on and had views of the golf course.

We found that Tenerife itself wasn't really our cup of tea but this has nothing to do with the hotel - Just wasn't really for us

Anyone complaining of rude reception staff and the other general gripes surely must have stayed somewhere else we thought everyone was lovely

A good 4 star hotel in an excellent quiet position at the side of a gold course. The staff are extremely efficient and friendly. Food is good. Unfortunately the hotel spoils the overall experience by providing lumpy sub standard pillows and paper thin bathroom towels.

I happened to stay in the hotel very recently with my family, for I like to test the hotel and experience it as a guest once in a while… Okaaaaaay, and because I had some work going on in the kitchen at home…

In any case, after the usual “hey-don’t-jump-brush-your-teeth-where-did-you-leave-your-teddy-bear-come-on-it’s-time-to-sleep-now” scene, absolutely exhausted, I put my head on the pillow, felt it in my ear and remembered this review which I read the day before… I looked shocked at it… It was… LUMPY! It belonged to the last order made recently to a new supplier which looked great when first bought, but seem to suffer some type of Kafkian metamorphose after a few washes which convert them into something horrendous… Fortunately there was only a limited amount on trial so we will be able to replace them soon.

In our hotel we are continuously trying to adapt and improve our standards and therefore test new linen, pillows, towels and amenities on a regular basis. Unfortunately the results are sometimes well below the standards intended, but these also help make the right final decision.

Me and my partner stayed here for a week in March - 21st - 26th we was also considering the Mare Norstrum resort but really glad that we chose this place instead. We stayed in a room overloooking the pool and was really impressed with the hotel when we arrived. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and the food was fine, not amazing but all inclusive does what it says on the tin, you could eat and drink all day and you are centrally located to eat out of an evening if you wanted to and which we did.
The hotel was spotless, i always clean up after myself anyway so whether the maid did or didnt wipe down my side was not an issue. the beds were always made towels are replaced as long as they are left in the tub.
Entertainment was varied with something for the kids and adults not saying it was the best but it was there if you wanted it. when we arrived the hotel was rather quiet but then got a lot busier and the bed hogging began, many people and families up and putting towels on the beds before dawn - Yawn.. also i though that a lot of people werent staying in the hotel but using the pool area? i cant say that it was for definite but that seemed to be the case, we still managed to get a bed everyday. i feel that a lot of people want everything for their money and some of the reviews reflect this, its the canaries and a decent rated 4 star so dont expect the Ritz and you will be extremley happy.
There really isnt any down points to this hotel, far exceeded our expectations and as i said before all inclusive does what its supposed to.
I would definitely go back was well worth the trip.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel during the final week of march. This hotel has the potential to be fantastic, just a few small aspects let it down.

Location
Approx 15 mins walk to both Playa de la Americas and Los Christianos. Hospital, childrens play park and a few shops including supermarket (mercadona) all within 5 minute walk.

Rooms
Very well equipped. Suites are ideal for those with children as they are very spacious. Kitchen area has hob, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. Due to size of rooms and limited number if cleaning staff these are not kept up to most hotels standards. Beds were made daily. Sink areas and floors only appeared to be swept and cleaned every other day. Large coffee table was only ever wiped once during the week. Towels were an issue we were left short on two occasions and had to request more.

Pools
There are three pools one of which claims to be heated. This is not the case,it is actually a climateised pool apparently and is only fractionally warmer than the others. Pool areas could be kept cleaner and in a better state of repair. Children's pool had missing flag stone surrounding and loose stone which staff were aware of as the equivalent of a wet floor sign was in place for the whole of our stay to prevent accidents. The same rubbish including dirty plasters remained around the children's pool for the whole week. I often found myself putting other people's rubbish in the bin the following morning. During our 1 week stay pool area was jet washed once this was the only cleaning we saw.

Staff
The staff make this hotel. Bar staff are very attentive especially with children and go out of their way to speak to them and make their stay extra special. This is the same for restaurant staff and chefs who would often give the children sweets too.

Food
Breakfasts were amazing something for everyone. Selection of both hot and cold options was vast and all very edible. The ham joint was fantastic along with the omlets. To avoid long waits and reduced selection of breakfast options ensure you arrive for breakfast before 8:30.

For lunch you have the option of the pool bar where pizza, burgers, hotdogs, toasties, pasta and at least one other option along with salad is always available. Or the restaurant which has similar options to dinner.

Dinner you always have a variety of options. These are supplemented by show cooking of fresh meat and fish. Along side this there are always pizza and pasta dishes available as well. Quality of this can vary but where doesn't it.

Cleanliness
More staff would ensure this was up to standard. At the start of the week when the hotel wasn't full this was great, but this became questionable in all areas except the bars towards the end of the week once the hotel was full.

Would I visit again?
Yes.

I would however be concerned if I was to visit at high season. As I'm not sure this hotel would cope. As suggested by the difference between the hotel at the start of our week and the end of the week.

Our pool area is cleaned on a daily basis and jet washed twice per week, I regret if the results during these clients’ visit were not found adequate. Most of the year is high season in our hotel, for we are usually full (and I love it!). However, while the occupancy is measured by occupied rooms and it was very similar during the whole of March, the total amount of guests increased considerably during Easter for mostly families were visiting us (and therefore the amount of people per room increased, too). Also most clients were from Northern Europe and therefore tended to go the restaurant within a similar time frame, resulting in some queuing at times during meals, which is extremely unusual in our hotel.

Following booking this holiday i became a bit apprehensive about the hotel. The reason for this is if you read some of the negative comments towards this hotel they are followed by sarcastic comments by the manager which makes you believe that they really don't care about customer service.

The reality of our stay was much different however. We really enjoyed our time at this hotel. It wasn't the best 4* hotel I've ever stayed in but it wasn't the worst. I will try and sumarrise this (without writing war and peace which i probably could)

Positives
- Great location, probably 10 minutes walk from beaches. 10 minutes for playa de las americas and about 15 minutes from los cristianos
- Great rooms, the suites are large, well equipped and really worked for us with having an infant, we could sit up in the living area with a drink whilst she slept.
- The staff, The majority of the staff were fantastic, from the bar staff to the restaurant staff to chefs in the kitchen, they all couldn't do enough for you and really made an effort with my daughter too.
- The food, the food was majority good, although someone needs to teach the chefs how to bone out fish. The selection was pretty good and varied. They did themed nights which were also interesting and the pool bar was pretty good too, although the chef on here could probably need a hand as she was massively overworked. The deserts weren't great and the coffee in the morning was so awful (seriously this needs addressing). The buffet could also do with a bit of a re-design as when it's busy it can be a bit chaotic around the buffet bars
Drinks - good selection and availability

The negatives
- The pool, we travelled the last week of march and although temperatures were hitting the mid 20's, the pools were still frickin cold. Both Thomson and the hotel's website advertise a heated pool. It's not!!!! We enquired to a rep and was told it wasn't heated its 'climatised'???? The baby pool was just about bearable by late afternoon. The other negative about the pool was the poor cleaning of the pool and the pool area. Often we would see items still floating in the pool from the day before or cups around the pool area from the day before that don't get cleaned.
- The maid service, on 3 occassions we had to call to reception due to problems with the maid service, towels weren't left, even toilet roll on occassions.
- Getting a large beer at the bar. Their idea of a large beer probably isn't even half a pint, when u ask for a spirit and mixer their measures are bigger than that!!!!
- Would have liked a late checkout and was prepared to pay for it (as most places u do). Here you ask on the morning you leave and it really is hit and miss. We asked and were told no without checking any computer or room records but another family asked 5 minutes later and were told yes???? Go figure!! Not the best with an infant.

We didn't use the animation team or any of the evening entertainment due to having an infant with us. The park on site is ok, but the park across the road is really really good for all ages.

In summary this really is a good hotel however it's probably the staff that push it into 4* territory otherwise it would probably be a good 3*. With a bit more attention to detail it could be great.

and
The manager really needs to get off trip advisor and employ a PR guy to do it instead, he's not doing the hotel any favours.

I regret the situations described regarding the cleaning, both in the rooms and in the pool area, as they are not usual and representative at all of our usual standards. They have been addressed to the appropriate departments in order to prevent them from happening in the future. Whether climatised or heated, our green and children pools are at 25ºC, I guess this will be warm, cold or freaking cold depending on personal appreciations. Our hotel just offers one size of beer (0.30 liters, which is slightly more than a half pint), but our all-inclusive entitles you to have as many beers as you wish (as far as you behave…).

I have been a PR guy myself in 3 different hotels and, believe it or not, I was pretty good at writing nice letters with beautiful words, convincing expressions… and very little content. This experience is the main reason why I would never employ a PR guy to pretend and make believe without really caring, I definitely prefer to invest our money in hard-working staff who enjoy helping and serving others and sort out problems when necessary. My replies may not be liked, but they are mine and not some other staff member’s who may not even be based in the hotel. That is customer service to me.
