“Def not family hotel as listed”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

we arrived here on 5th Sept for 13 days and after day 1 I wanted to go home,It was very very noisy for the first few nights, Perhaps it was just the crowd that was in. This hotel is listed as a family hotel which it is certainly not. Rooms although clean enough were very tired and dated and kitchen area poorly stocked.beds uncomfortable for couples but would suit single people.
Pool area was cleaned daily and pool bar serves reasonable food.Location of the hotel was fairly good. You are supposed to leave your key when you go out but we didn't as on more than one occasion hubby seen the reception hand out spare keys to guests just on them asking. security is an issue in this hotel In fact unless you actually go to reception and complain they aren't interested. For youngsters this hotel is fine it's loud and noisy and central to local bars and clubs.

We've just got back from staying here for a week, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. From reading reviews before we went, I was a little apprehensive, especially about security and hygiene, but we have no major complaints. If you're concerned about security like us, we recommend hiring a safe. It cost 14 euros for the week plus a 5 euro deposit, but is definitely worth doing, not that we felt uneasy once we were there, but we wanted to be on the safe side.

The rooms are basic, but clean, and very spacious. The room had twin beds, and not a double, but it was so warm at night we appreciated the space! The beds were pretty comfy and the bedding was changed half way through the week. Our room faced right onto the pool area and had a nice little view, and the balcony was large. For a self catering apartment, the only kitchen facility is a stove, if you plan to cook a lot you may want to ask for a toaster/kettle if they're available, otherwise there were plenty of pots/pans/utensils.

The location is fantastic, it's far enough from the strip that you don't have the party scene on your doorstep, but you're close to all sorts of amenities, especially the beach which is only a 5 minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants and shops right around the corner, including a 24/7 cash and carry across the road.

We didn't use the pool, as we prefer the beach, but it was a decent size, and seemed very popular. We also didn't eat at the apartments, but there was a bar/restaurant area that seemed to serve plenty of snacks/drinks. There is also internet facilities in the main reception for a pretty good rate, I think it was 10 euros for the week, which is ideal if you need to access the web. I will say however, that most of the bars/restaurants have free wifi available.

The staff we encountered were pleasant, helpful and spoke decent English, something we appreciate. The reception staff were always on hand to help with any queries.

Our only grumble is the noise. We'd class it as a party hotel, lots of groups/teenagers coming back from the strip in the early hours making a racket. We expected it, and being deep sleepers, didn't affect us too much, however it is something to be aware of!

Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and didn't want to leave. We'd definitely stay here again :)

We've just come back from staying here, the apartment was clean and spacious however if getting a good nights sleep is your thing, its not advisable to stay here. Situated just off the well known Veronica's strip, the partying will last well into the early hours of the morning. we got woken up at least 3 times each night with the noise of slamming doors, shouting and other degrees of drunken behaviour.
Youngsters partying here will be in their element, however for the more mature travellers and those with kids, i suggest staying somewhere else.
i couldn't fault the price of the accomodation and i certainly wouldnt have paid any more to stay here. if you do stay here ask for room 221 as it has a secluded balcony away from the pool and near to the reception and hotel entrance ( perfect for those who like us, wanted to stay out of the way )

Room Tip: Room 221, 222 and 223 are the best who don't want to have a room in the centre of the complex!!

I have recently stayed at the Hacienda Del Sol and overall I had a positive experience. As I stayed with a friend we were after good night life and we were worried the party season was over but it was nowhere near and seems to go on all year. If you plan for late nights and parties this is the place for you as the clubs are so close. The only issue we had with the hotel was the night watchman who seemed to think he was securing The Ritz and he acted in a rudely on a couple of occasions when we returned from nights out. Rooms are basic and you get the odd funny smell but good for young people who don't mind noise. Beach is so close and so is everything you need. Wouldn't rush back but had a great holiday!

You get what you pay. Do not expect for good cleaning. If you keep your room clean, will be clean.
Beds are very uncomfortable for a couple. For single is OK. If you. If you go to enjoy the sun, beaches, night life , or to have a relaxing day is OK...enough to sleep few hours and start the next day.

Room Tip: choose a room not close to the road, and not close to the pool.... somewhere in the middle.

Before travelling I was very apprehensive as i'd seen a fair few bad reviews, however i'd say there really is nothing to worry about! This hotel was the cheapest we could find in Playa de Las Americas and turned out to be better than expected.
Rooms were very basic, the kitchen area consisted of a fridge and two hobs, the rooms for two people had two single beds and the rooms for three people had an extra bed put up in the kitchen area (not ideal but not a problem either). Rooms were fairly clean although one of my pillowcases definitely hadn't been washed since the previous guests had used it. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest i'd seen and was very dated, the towels were small and like drying yourself with sandpaper so I decided to use my beach towel inside and take my hotel towel to the pool (which the hotel staff didn't seem to mind). Other than this the kitchen area and everything were fine.
The pool area was nice and clean, never too crowded although sometimes did run out of sunbeds, we didn't see this as a problem as there was plenty of space to place towels on the floor in stead. There was a bar next to the pool which served snack food and drinks at a decent price.
Staff were most often pleasant and helpful. The location was perfect for us, there were restaurants directly opposite and then the clubs and bars on the corner (Yates, Linekers, Tramps etc) were a 2 minute walk down the road and then veronicas ran directly along the end of the road. This meant we could pop home on nights out if we ever needed to. The beach was also only a 5/10 minute walk in the same direction.
I would say this is definitely not a hotel for families, while the pool area and rooms would be fine, the hotel was extremely loud all night and you probably wouldn't get much sleep if you weren't going out. Also security wise, I would certainly recommend a safe... on our last night there was some trouble with people coming in to the hotel and taking other peoples room keys from reception. I didn't see much trouble other than this but having a safe just put our mind at ease.
Overall, I had an excellent stay at a very cheap hotel and certainly did not expect it to be as good as it was.
