“Brilliant place, and a bargain too”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Me and my girlfriend stayed in this hotel from the 7th-14th September and found it to be excellent. Firstly, the staff are excellent and full of advice, and are very friendly and approachable, as well as all speaking excellent English. We first encountered this upon arrival, when we were informed that because we had asked for a pool view, that we would be upgraded to the hotel building itself (which were much more updated, spacious and had air-con) free of charge due to a cancellation the day before.
The rooms were well kept and very clean, with nice touches added such as fresh towels daily (although you'd expect it) and a complimentary bottle of water already in the fridge. The cleaners came to our room every day, and cleaned it top to bottom every other day, everything in the room was also well kept, however, the decor did need updating somewhat.
The hotel itself is in a wonderful location, just a short walk down the hill (5 minutes tops) will take you to a Mango shop on the corner, where you turn left to walk into Los Cristianos (5 minutes walk) or right onto what is the start of the main strip, which has some wonderful and fairly priced restaurants. I'd recommend El Cedro for a great breakfast (which is also half the cost of the hotels breakfast), Daniels Cafe for some delicious home made pizzas, and Las Rosas for steak lovers. Just a further walk past these restaurants will take you onto the strip, however, be aware on the strip as there are a large number of pick pockets about although we never encountered any.
If you are looking for a beach holiday however, I would not choose this area of Tenerife as the beaches are mainly rocky, with 2 sunbeds and a shabby looking parasol costing €19 per day. This would therefore leave you with the pool area, which is where our only complaint would creep in. We tended to find that the time we stayed in the hotel, it was not the pool area itself that caused issue (the pool areas was pleasant and clean, however, the pool was rather on the cold side), it was actually the people staying in the hotel. I'm not sure if this is a problem often occurred in this hotel, but we found that there were not enough parasols for the amount of beds at the pool side, and although the hotel runs a policy which states by the pool side that beds and parasols cant be reserved, they still were anyway, resulting in us having to get up at 9am every morning to reserve our own beds, something, which not everyone would be happy doing.
Overall, the hotel was well kept and most importantly clean, and the development of Las Americas and Los Cristianos has been outstanding since I was last there in 2009. Las Americas and Andorra are definitely somewhere I will happily stay again, and also, recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view if you so wish, however, asking for this may also get you a free upgrade into th...

I wanted to right a few wrongs. The boyfriend and I stayed for a week in early July 2012 and loved the place. The hotel was great, We went with the reviews and did B&B and were happy with the breakfasts. We ate out at a selection of places all looking onto the sea. If you head north along the coast for a walk you find some nice places and can watch the surfers. This is also where the best sunset is. It can be a windy place so take a wrap for the evenings. The area around the hotel isn't noisy, just the odd guest. We also had a room right on the main road and didn't notice the traffic if the windows were closed. Great views of the sea too. You don't want a view of the pool if you ask me. The pool area is nice and clean. We never stuggled for sun beds. The sun starts to hit the pool by 10 at one end and covers it by 1. We took a couple of excursions, walked around the corner (left out of the hotel and left again) to a little place to book them. The naimal park is great and we also took a catermaran out to see to see whales and dolphins. All great stuff. Also went on Segways out there. We had previous experience which was good as you don't get a lot of training. All in all great holiday and great hotel. Clean and tidy. Hotel receptionists might have been reported as rude but one really helped us out on the last day with printing out airline tickets.

Room Tip: For view I would say one of the sides on the road. Facing the Sea.

Stayed here sept 1st - sept 8th, nice big room with big balcony, suited me and my partner very well, only downside was we had room 302 which was road facing and we found this very noisy as weather was really hot the nights were stuffy but we cudnt sleep with balcony door open as it was way to loud from cars and most the the time drunken people! Staff were very nice, pool was ok, drinks were bit high priced, good location tho 2mins walk from practicaly everything. would defo come bk to playa las americas but probly have a different hotel with more entertainment and more choice in hotel to do things

Myself, my partner and our 4 year old stayed here for a week in August, apartments clean and spacious although a bit outdated but nothing to complain about! Can't understand complaints about staff as they all seemed lovely! Only issue was building work for most of our stay meaning the pool near our apartment closed and workmen all over but didn't spoil it as we visited beach and used other pool, would def stay here again

First of all let me say that this Hotel is fantastic, but I do have one complaint which I'll leave to the end.

I managed to stay in this hotel for less than £250 pp for 2 weeks from the 2nd Aug 2012 with my girlfriend and it was fantastic value and the hotel itself is lovely with a great location. The staff are also very friendly, ever so helpful and could not fault them. We had breakfast included in our package, Its ok at best but I would recommend going to the supermarket next door and getting your fresh bread, croissants etc from there and making your own. far nicer and very cheap.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. Maids came daily and cleaned everything. Pool area is nice, plenty of beds and it has a pool bar, but i wasnt in it as it lacked any kind of atmosphere but for a beer or soft drink it was adequate.

The location is perfect, no noisy pubs around but only a 10min walk to Veronica's if you want to party the night away (also great wee family bars around the corner). Its only about 200m to the beach, I would recommend "Playa las vista", golden sand and water-sports, fantastic. Its also only 100m to the "Safari Center" which has every restaurant available (Try the chinese called Tai Pan, fantastic) and its also a mecca for shopping.

Now for the bad part. For about 7 days of my 14 day holiday we were woken by a numatic drill at 9am as there doing renovation work in its adjoining sister hotel the Marie Rose. I've been told this will continue till Sept so if your going before or around then I would check with the hotel that your not staying in that part of the Andorra. I felt sorry for the people overlooking an empty pool and building site everyday. It was really unbearable and not only was I woken every morning, it meant that relaxing at the pool was near impossible. I complained at reception but because it was all booked up I couldn't get a change of room so just had to make do.

Room Tip: Overall the hotel is perfect and great value for money if only for this work that was taking place n...
