We chose this hotel (My wife and I) because of the previous good reviews and its location. Overall it was great. However, what does let it down is the seating arrangements in the dining area. Many people make negative comments about this and I am not sure why the hotel choose to do nothing about it. In the dining room the tables are set up for eight people!! One evening my wife and I ended up sharing a table with six Germans. We could not converse with them and we were made to feel if we were intruding on their evening. On another evening we used the outdoor bbq dining. Again an excellent location with great food. But our table was for seven people. We were joined by an Eastern European family who's table manners left a lot to be desired and wanted to smoke whilst eating!! This all makes for a very unpleasant dining experience when it should obviously be very much the opposite. We paid for 'All Inclusive' but in the end we actually went out one evening to have a nice 'table for two' meal.
Overall, however, as we have said, the Hotel is very nice. The food is nicely presented and there is plenty of options. The rooms are clean and the staff we saw worked very hard. A busy reception at times but the staff were also very good. Hard working bar staff as well.
As for the 'in house' entertainment, well best say ' they try hard'. Difficult to entertain an audience that speak maybe four or five different languages.
Would we go back again? Yes but probably just pay for B&B and eat out.

Room Tip: If you or someone in your party has trouble with stairs then be sure to make sure you ask for a grou...

My husband and I stayed here the last week of September. We chose it because of reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed.
We arrived just after 10pm and was greeted by Luisa on reception who was very helpful. The chefs put on extra snacks for us and a few other guests who were arriving late.

Rooms - we stayed in A307 which overlooked the football/volleyball pitch and the pool to the left plus a view of the mountains. It was a spacious one bed apartment with a balcony and a quiet location. There were a few flights of steps to climb as it was on the highest floor and there are no lifts. Complimentary toiletries were provided but I would advise you to take your own as they were only small sachets. Air-con was in the form of ceiling fans which were adequate considering the nights were warm. Maid service was excellent and they came in most days.

Pool - seawater pools were very inviting and there were also beds available at all times but dont dive off the bridge as hubbie got told off by the Lifeguard!

Entertainment - the animation team work really hard and try to get everyone involved..some of the evening shows are a bit naff..mimed singing..Mamma mia was good if you like Abba. We did go out a few nights to the bars mentioned below for the live music.

Food- excellent choice of food for breakfast lunch and evening meal. Hats off to the pizza chef who must have made over 200 pizzas during lunch and evening meal..as soon as he made them they were gone but replenished really quickly. There was a great range of fish if you love fish..from hake to cuttlefish and some fish I had never heard of. Sirloin steaks/veal and pork were delicious but the chef cooks them quite rare but he was happy to put them back on the hotplate for you if you like it well done..certainly no complaints about the food..wine also on table during lunch and evening

Bar and snacks - great range of local spirits and daily cocktails plus the lager was good too!! Snacks included chicken, pizza, sandwiches, pasta dishes and salads. The bar staff are great and are not tight on measures!

Location - fantastic! Close to the centre of shops and bars and the beach is just a five minute walk away..top of the road as you turn left out of the hotel. Turn right out of the hotel and follow the road and you will find some good bars if you want a change..Brewers droop bar was a great atmosphere. If you like live music you should visit 'The Patch'..turn left out of the hotel, left and left again then right to the top of the avenue and you will see the Corner pub. Along that row are a few bars each with different live music including the Soul Suite and the Bulls Head with their resident rock band.
Along the sea front are some nice restaurants..some offer a pint of lager for 1 euro but be warned they do not tell you that there is a 7% tax added to this so it actually costs you 1 euro 7 cents but still very cheap. If you get to the sea front then turn left and follow the promenade you can walk into Los Cristianos.
Do not fall for the 'Sony camcorder deal' that the electrical shops offer..they give you a price of 25 euros and show you an original camcorder but that is not the one you get..it is a cheap copy.

A couple of gripes...air con would have been better rather than ceiling fans and wi-fi is only available in the reception area..installing some repeaters so it is available throughout the hotel and in the rooms would be better.

Overall the hotel was fantastic and all the staff were great and I would go back. Playa is also a lovely resort and can recommend it. We didnt do any excursions but you can go on mountain and boat trips.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and pool/football pitch view. Some recommended the Laguna area but it seemed a...

After 27 years of staying at various hotels in Tenerife this was our first time at this hotel (although we have stayed in this area many times and love it) and we were very impressed. The staff were friendly, helpful and definitely all had a sense of humour - we could always have a laugh with them. The room had a large bedroom (very comfortable bed) with two hanging wardrobes and one with shelves, plus another unit with drawers and shelving above, plus bedside cabinets. Safe can be hired. Full length mirror inside the wardrobe door and another large mirror on the wall. Living room had another full length mirror, corner sofa, coffee table and corner unit with more shelving above and space for fridge (hired from reception). Plus another desk type unit with drawers, above which was a flat screen tv with several English channels. Bathroom had bath, powerful shower over bath, toilet, basin and hairdrier. A few complimentary sachets of soap and shower gel were provided. Balcony with table and 4 chairs. The only drawback was no air conditioning. However, both rooms had large ceiling fans which worked fairly well even though it was 28-32 degrees in the two weeks we were there. We did notice that the floors weren't as clean as they could have been in our rooms (dusty) but other than that the rooms were kept spotless by the friendly maid who came in each day to make the bed, change the towels etc. The food was the best we have had - huge variety of everything - meat, fish, pasta, salads, vegetables and potatoes, sauces, desserts. As previously mentioned wine is available in bottles (if not on the table you can help yourself to bottles from the chill cabinets) but we also felt this was a waste as we only wanted one glass each and didn't really like that the bottles appeared to be topped up each day. We would have preferred to get a glass from a barrel, as other AI hotels do. Carafes of water were also available. Tables are all for 8 people so you do have to share but we didn't find this a problem and there is plenty of room no matter when you arrive for a meal. Rather than one large dining room it is set as rooms all off of a middle room and has lots of character. The waiters are always available to help, have a joke with you and generally the eating experience is a pleasure. The food and atmosphere alone would be enough for us to go back! There are a lot of steps up to the dining room, but there is one small lift if you have problems with the stairs. I should also mention that this was the only lift we found in the whole hotel so if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor you'll have stairs to climb (doesn't go higher than 3 storeys). I personally wouldn't have liked a ground floor room as people are walking by all the time and we noticed the curtains were closed whatever time of day or night it was as anyone would be able to see in. We were on the second floor facing the street - very little noise except for the cab drivers in the rank outside talking to each other early in the morning. Other than that it's a quiet area - but close enough to walk to bars and restaurants providing entertainment and more noise if that is your choice. And it's close to the beach, shops, walkway through to Los Cristianos, bus stops etc. Loved the location. Back to food - if you didn't want to eat in the dining room there seemed to be food available most of the day after 10am by the pool - you certainly wouldn't go hungry here even for the most fussy eaters! The pool area was lovely - pool bar, terrace with tables and chairs, plenty of sunbeds (at all times) and little nooks and crannies off the pool area with sunbeds by ponds with fish and ducks, or in gardens. However, take your own pool towels - to hire them is 1.50 euro each per day plus 20 euro deposit. We've always had pool and beach towels supplied free before so were caught out by this - but we just bought towels it was much cheaper! There was plenty going on during the day if you wanted to join in with football, shooting, archery, water polo, etc. There were lots of very young children when we stayed so I assume that they also have a kiddies club but as it was just me, my husband and brother-in-law we didn't really take much notice of that. We did notice that there were plenty of children's highchairs in the dining room. There were no straps on them though, so take your own if you have a lively toddler who doesn't like sitting still. We like to go out in the evenings, so we didn't see any of the evening entertainment. The majority of the people staying there are German, Italian and Spanish, hardly any English, but we knew that before we booked (from previous reviews). I would have given an excellent rating but the lack of air con in the bedroom is the only thing preventing me from doing that. Everything else was so great though that we will definitely go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose 2nd or 3rd floor room if you are able to cope with stairs, as ground floor rooms can be seen...

Been back a week now from Park Club Europe. Can honestly say it was the best holiday of my life. My first time to Tenerife, and we certainly chose the best hotel. Walking round the island we were so happy with our choice, nowhere else seemed to even come close.
The hotel itself is wonderful, beautiful gardens and ponds. The rooms are perfectly adequate. Maybe a touch on the small side, but bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and balcony did us well. Cleaned everyday without fail, by very pleasant and welcoming staff.
The restaurat was brilliant, such a huge selection of food you dont know where to start.
Both swimming pools are absoloutly fantastic. Huge, and very clean. And never busy. As with the sunbeds, always plenty free.
Playa de las Americas itself was wonderful. And the hotel is ideally located very close to the beach and shops. But still nicely tucked away and quiet.
The animacion staff are fantastic, as are the reception and bar staff.
Would highly recommend this hotel. Will be going back next year without a doubt.
