“Overall quite good, but let down by poolside sunbeds and studio pullout bed”

Club Olympus
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed March 2, 2009

We have been to Las Americas many times, but this our first time at Club Olympus. It was booked as an RCI exchange. Reception is absolutely excellent. The complex is nicely located, and was clean, with 2 pools. Incidentally, I read in other reviews that BBC & ITV tv was available, but it wasn't in our Studio. The Studio bed is a pullout, and I believe is of an inherantly dangerous design. We had a nasty accident on the first morning when trying to put the bed away, when the legs on 1 side collapsed, letting the weight of the bed land forcefully on both feet of the second person. We were lucky that the result seems to be no worse than severe bruising and 2 swollen feet. Take care ! Also, unfortunately, the majority of the poolside sunbeds at the 2nd pool are broken. This leads to early risers putting towels on the good beds, so anyone "playing fair" only gets one of the faulty beds. In summary, the Club Olympus is average, or slightly above average for Tenerife, very clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The Studio we had was reasonably appointed (with the exception of the design of the bed), and in good order. Its such a shame that the poolside beds detract from the holiday experience.

This was the second time we stayed at this complex and once again had a great holiday. The heated pool in the winter is an added bonus. The apartmetn was well fitted and had everything we could need including BBC1 and ITV on the TV.

A very friendly complex and it still works out a lot cheaper than holidaying in the UK. We used to go to hotels but this complex has us coverted to self catering. Much cheaper and we can choose when and where to eat. There was a gret Chinese buffet just outside the complex which worked out at about £5 for all you can eat. Much cheaper than home and the same with drinks etc. If you but Spanish products from the supermarket they also seemed cheaper than home.

All in all great value in the sun. The complex was close to everything and don't frget to visit the new Siam Park - it's the largest water park in Europe and there is something for everyone and this was within easy walk of Garden City.

The self service launderette on site meant we only took one suitcase - ideal as we were there for three weeks this time. Who wants the British weather!

My husband loves golfg and there were about 5 courses within a 20 minute taxi ride.

This complex is great for couples or families.

I stayed in these apartments xams 2008 . My daughter and I had a 2 bed apartment, which although a bit old were perfectly equipped and fairly large..

It is well situated for lots of bars and restaurants which is very handy. We only had lunch in the bar on site, mainly for conveniance and found different restaurants each evening in the surrounding area. Due to the exchange rate being so bad it wasn't as good value for money as it should have been but it was still on a par with the UK.

All in all a good stay

Rented 2 apartments from Deanna Dewey, a studio and 1 bed both overlooking the lower pool. Both were clean and well equipped with everything needed for a self catering base.
Her rep janet is easily contactable if you encounter any problems and will change linen and towels during your stay.
The complex is well appointed with a wide variety of bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as several beaches which are all clean and have sunbeds/umbrellas available.
We have holidayed here for many years over Xmas and New Year and find these apartments are ideally situated and particularly love the upper pool which is quiet, even in Summer you rarely find children venturing up there which is great for those holidaying as couples who are looking for rest and relaxation.
Take the time to go off the beaten track and you will find some great fish and tapas places which are great value for money. Use the Titsa which is cheap and reliable to get around and make the most of your stay on this beautiful island which has so much more to offer than just staying around your complex.
If you do want to stay close by there are some good bars and eating places too. Cannot comment on complex bar as never used it, but offers food and evening entertainment. Not used the
lower pool which is always busy as it is heated so popular with families and has a lifeguard which is reassuring.
This is a good complex and a great base for a winter break away from all the awful xmas hype back home.

I arrived at hotel a few hours before check-in time due to early flight. I was surprised my room for 3 people (wife and my sister) was ready and key promply given. The 2 English gentlemen at reception were friendly (during complete week visit) and helped carry our luggage to room. I had a room (269) which faced the pool and bar. The apartment is hugh and was very clean. The maids came daily and mopped floors, took out the trash and gave new towels. I am used to classy places where this does not happen. The only bad thing about apartment is the CD player did not work, the toaster handle had to be held down during toasting bread and the showers do not have mats in tub (to reduce slipping) nor grap rails. To take a shower is very dangerous. The noise from Karoke stopped promply each night at 11pm. I actually enjoyed listening to some of the music from the balcony when not at the bar. The location of the hotel is excellent as everything is right there. The Chinese restaurant next to the hotel has outstanding food.

We booked privately through Deanna Dewey and I was concerned to read negative reports. But my fears were groundless. We arrived on a lovely day and the apartment was clean and tidy and offered us everything we could need. The apartments are not luxurious but are well looked and I think offer real value for money and they are certainly a lot better than apartments I have booked through major travel companies as there was even an electric kettle. The satellite TV which received lots of English channels including BBC1 and ITV was an aded bonus for those evenings we didn't want to go out.

I swam every day in the heated pool on the complex as the sea was a bit too cold in January.

I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Mrs Dewey's apartments to my family and friends.

Justed returned from a 7day stay at Club Olympus (Garden City). We haven't visited Tenerife for 20 years but was aware that significant development had taken place. We booked this apartment because it was near the marina and not "high -rise". We expected it to be a quiet location with good facilities nearby. How wrong we were! If you are a binge drinking karaoke king/queen this is the place to visit. Our apartment was directly above one karaoke bar and the Poolside Bar (karaoke included) was directly to the side. It was impossible to listen to the TV prior to midnight when the singing stopped! On busy nights the compere would continue his monotonus prattle for up to an hour at incredible sound volume. There are nice places to stay in this part of Tenerife but this is definetly not one of them!
