Aparthotel Udalla Park
Reviewed December 15, 2011

We have just returned from a week in Udalla park hotel and enjoyed it very much...Hotel was clean and reception staff very friendly although the self catering requirements could be better as only 2 hot plates available and no toaster or kettle....The pool area was lovely and is a sun trap plus beds are free and have cushions on them...Hotel very central surrounded by lots of good restaurants and the main Pub area is just a five minute walk away, the Hole in the wall(Irish pub) had great entertainment.....The beach is about a five minute walk from hotel and on a slight incline but nothing serious ....We were self catering and never tried the food in the hotel as we ate out in the many local restaurants ... I would go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for room at the back as it is on a main road...

Stayed half board for 1 week. Hotel clean and very friendly reception staff. Otherwise very poor. Food was dreadful, breakfast ok if you did not want cooked food as it was just warm and quite greasy. Bread in short supply on some days. Dinner was awful, poor choice and quality. I stuck to just soup and a dessert on most days as the meat was just warm and very salty (to disguise poor quality ?) If you stay self catering, be prepared to cook on two hot rings only as there was no microwave, oven, grill or toaster. we even had to pay a refundable deposit to obtain a small kettle. I would not return to this hotel, even if it was offered free. The sea view (for which I paid a premium) was very limited and what there was could be seen through a rusty fence topped by barbed wire. Only the bathroom had been refurbished, cupboard doors were hanging off, wardrobe door full length mirror badly cracked, dubious electrics as three lights did not work plus two wall switches. Socket above cooker came away from wall when removing plug !!
The Hotel sits on a busy main road, so if you do go ask for a room at the back. It is about a fifteen minute walk down quite a steep slope to the beach area. Limited amount of bars and restaurant in immediate vicinity, although they are quite good and reasonably priced.

Very basic hotel, all staff were very nice, rooms need more attention quite grubby and basic. There were little bugs in the kitchen area which was horrible. Glad we took kettle after reading previous reviews on trip advisor. Bed was broken, uncomfy & lumpy mattress. We were self catering, one hob wasn't working, thought there would be an oven or a toaster but nothing. I heard from another guest that the food in the hotel was not great. The bathroom was nice, shame about the room though! We still enjoyed our holiday though :)

It was a very nice hotel, the view was nice loved the fact that we had our own kitchen and balcony was the best, and that they were all smoking rooms, and swimming pool was nice you could sunbathe and sun came directly down on the deck chairs, and all the staff there were very nice and polite and friendly helped us out alot when we needed help, with directions and other stuff, the bar next to the pool was good also and life guard was very nice and helpful, the beach is only 5mins walk away so it was very convient, the clubs (the strip) were 20mins walk away 5mins in the car, they sell tickets to all the main attractions at the Reception desk which was helpful, all buses to all the attractions is 10min walk away, there is loads of food places right outside the hotel opposite and next to the hotel, and the supermarket was 5mins walk away which helped alot, if you don`t want to spend much on food then you get your food from there and cook it yourself as they have a cooker, it was a very clean hotel very well looked after, was a very good price for the service we got from them all!!! very pleased

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the front of the hotel as the best view is there.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights from the 31st October and enjoyed the stay. Our room 321 was very nice for the price ( *3 ). It looks like the bathroom has been recently updated because the sink/taps/bath/shower/toilet and tiling was good quality. The beds were comfy, the wardrobe a bit tinny, the kitchen area a utensils were adequate but could have been better. The roof terrace was a lovely bonus. Our balcony overlooked the main road which is quite busy so there was noise but we didn't mind ( not being the complaining type ! ). The balcony was roughly north facing so never really got the sun. The pool was good, only one broken sun bed and most had comfy sunbed mattresses. There appeared to be quite a few other nationalities here but no towels on sunbeds. Could be different in high season. We didn't use the Restaurant or bar so can't comment. There were plenty of Dining /Bars within 10 minutes walk ( Cheap or expensive, some really classy places ). The staff were friendly and helpful and rooms cleaned regularly. Udalla Park is only just in Las Americas. Behind the hotel is Los Christianos. We would say ignore most comments over a year old because although bad comments were possibly true at the time we believe things must have improved to our current experience. Finally, If you want a 4/5 star then go pay the 4/5 star prices.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th floor have a roof terrace, and rooms on the main road side on the 3rd floor also ha...
