Reviewed March 29, 2008

Have just spent 1 week at the above over the Easter period with my boyfriend, his 10 year old son & his parents and we were booked into a 2 bedroom apartment. First impressions were that the place was basic but functional and seemed clean enough. The apartment all decor, facilities and furniture looked well passed their sell by date and the entire place looked well passed needing to be refurbed.
Each apartment has an individual boiler for hot water which did not provide sufficient hot water for all of the people staying in the apartment to have showers after a day at the pool or beach - when we mentioned the lack of hot water to reception we were told that we had to leave 15 minutes between each shower - even this didnt work so showers had to be quick and staggered over around 2 hours - all the more time to drink sangria on balcony though!! The bathoom generally was aged and the waste pipe from the bath over which the shower was was so blocked that water would not drain and there was a stale smell coming from the plug hole. The towels were old and were hard and very unfluffy...
Kitchen facilities - NOT - probabley the worst ive ever come across - you could not have cooked a meal there if you'd have wanted to - we even had to hire a kettle....
Cleaning - very irregular with small kitchen bin regularly overflowing and us using carrier bags for rubbish. On our last day the maids attended to our room but the rest of the apartment seemed untouched - maybe they had run out of time.....

The next problem which we could not work around unlike the showers was the overnight machinery noise. Our room was next to a plant room / workshop which we believe some kind of machinery / pumps housed within - these pumps were on all during the night and stopped each morning at around 9 am .....it was like trying to sleep in London underground !! Furthermore this room seemed to be the meeting area in morning for all on site workers so from 7 am we had talking outside our room and 2 mornings from 8 am drilling in the room which vibrated right through to our apartment - on mentioning the noise issues to the rep she said she would have a word with them and no one had ever mentioned it before .....unbelieveable!
In terms of food we we were staying on self catering basis but did consider having dinner on site 1 evening until we saw food being set out from around 2 hours before restaurant opened and all uncovered.....no thanx!
Finally - and my pet hate for many places ive stayed ......lack of control by the hotel management of people grabbing and reserving as many sunloungers as they could and then not using them all day .......unless you were up and hovering around the pool by 8.30 waiting for the beds to be unchained you didnt stand a chance. Surely this can be better managed.......

Having said all this on the upside the apartments are in a very good location - the pool is large and the pool bar is good.

Hi My name is Debs I am down to earth, honest, i dont usually write anything on the internet ,so if u decide to read this, i hope I dont upset anybody upfront we got off to a bad start, because cosmos decided to change the times for flying we usually get a train from Eastbourne to gatwick airport, but we couldnt because the trains dont start until 5.30am, and we had to check in at 6.30am as u can imagine with a little toddler, we needed to be up no later than 3, so we checked the internet, and stayed at the Hilton hotel for 1night, £155 + carpark, a big dfference when we only paid £26 for our train, for all 3 think cosmos will be getting a note from me.so we finally got there, we have saw this place expand and devlop nicely we stayed here on 11th March 08 just for a week, the weather was Beautiful, all I say is dont forget your sunlotions, especially for the younger ones. We was here 2yrs ago and we loved it, We had a 1 bedroom apartment this time, 2 adults and our boy, on our last day they were putting up safety fencies around the balconies, which is excellant, it would have been nicer to be done before we got there. It was lovely waking upto the birds whistling, and the sun coming through, We was on 2nd floor, the only thing i would say is learn a few words of spanish if u can. last time they cleaned and mopped everyday except Thur/Sun, this time they did the beds dont get me wrong it was clean, it makes us laugh because our feet were dirty, so i decide to mop the floor, and what a difference a little washing up liquid can do. We was facing the front, there balconies were lovely and large, better than some 5star hotels, we wasnt told Tthey were all smoking apartments, that must have changed since we come last it did smell when u went in, and i was only annoyed because we wasnt told about it, dont tell me off, i dont smoke but it doesnt bother me the people who do. there was no toaster, just incase u stayed in and wanted toast ha ha. great markets, please make sure that u ask the taxi driver how much it will be before u get in because we got ripped off. the market on Saturday had moved, the taxi could have gone by the sea, but didnt and it cost us 12 euros about £10, so be careful, do what the spanish do in the afternoon have a sleep, there was so many people that were really red and burnt because they didnt cover up, u cant go for a week or even 2 and get a nice even tan, yes the sun is lovely, I know that, I am 40 in Aug, and have severe chronic pain in my 24hrs a day for Over 12yrs, so takecare of your health, and have fun life can be too serious sometimes, enjoy xx, sorry to have bored u

After reading some bad reviews of this hotel, I was quite worried, but I need not have been - it was really good, no complaints whatsoever.
We had a one bedroomed apartment, located over the reception at the rear of the hotel, 2nd floor. This overlooked the pool of an adjacent hotel, and was very quiet.
It was absolutely spotless, as was the rest of the complex, cleaners working all the time, sweeping and mopping. The reception staff were very efficient and courteous.
The furniture was fairly new, as was the kitchen. Instant water boiler gave scalding hot water for showers. Only things missing were a toaster and electric kettle, although an ordinary kettle was provided for boiling water on the hob. This did not bother us though, as we ate out most of the time.
Nice bar area downstairs with plenty of varied entertainment, and pleasant sunny pool area. The location of this hotel was super. In an upmarket part of Playa de las Americas, bordering onto the seafront walk to Los Cristianos. Plenty of entertainment bars and nice restaurants within the vicinity. If you get the chance to see singer Nik Page, don't miss it!! He is fantastic. Good clean and extremely funny comedian George King well worth seeing also.
Only one grumble, and that is about a fish and chip restaurant nearby called Scampis. Whilst the fish and chips were very nice, we thought it extortionate to charge 3.50 euros for a pint of beer, 1.50 euros for a cup of tea, and if you wanted any sauces with your meal they were 15 cents a sachet - what a rip off!! will not be going there again. Can recommend the chicken and chips at Choukys on the sea front at the start of the walk to Cristianos, excellent value and very pleasant staff.
All in all an excellent hotel in a very nice area. I can highly recommend it.

Just stayed a week for my brothers 21st birthday, there was seven of us staying with a mixed age group between 17yrs-41yrs
And everyone had a brilliant time.
We arrived late due to flight delays(thats another story!) And were checked in very quickly reception staff were friendly enough.
we did request rooms overlooking the pool and discovered our rooms were indeed overlooking a pool just not ours!
however both rooms were right next to each other and were very clean, happy to say we didnt see any cockroaches at all.
The maids came in during our week and cleaned the appartment to a high standard too.
The hotel complex its self is great, the pool area is really good with a big pool and we liked sitting at the back of the pool up some steps were there is several little patio areas to sunbath. the whole pool area is an absolute suntrap but there is shaded areas near the pool bar which by the way does great food!
we had our evening meals included and dined in the hotel restuarant the food was great a good selection and diffrent each night, The waiters were friendly and gave good service. I would say though that it seemed there was no air conditioning in restaurant and the heat was unbearable at times.
Evening entertainment was good when we had a drink in hotel bar, The children and older guests seemed to enjoy it alot more than us, but with so many bars and clubs near you have plenty choice.
There is great shopping five mins away and the beach is also a five minute walk so i would give the hotel full marks for location
we are already talking about going back and would stay again at the hotel.

Myself and 2 other friends (all aged 24) stayed at the Parque de la Paz in September for a week on a self catering basis.

The hotel is lovely and the pool area is really big, although beware you have to get up early if you want to grab a sunbed.

The room itself was a good size. We had a one bedroomed apartment and the settee had a pull out bed underneath it. Plenty of room for 3 girls to get ready for a night out.

The hotel has its own entertainment staff and also there was a different tribute act on each night. Some were good, some were not so good (robbie williams!) But either way there was always a good atmosphere during the evening.

The hotel is about a 5/10 minute walk down to the beach that borders las americas and los cristianos. This beach is gorgeous and wasnt too busy when we were there.
The other beach is within walking distance also, but tends not to be as nice. The hotel is also about a 10 min walk to the veronicas and starco area of the town where all the bars can be found, so with it not being directly on the doorstep you can definitely get a good nights sleep. There are many good restaurants and shops within walking distance also.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

When I read some of the reviews here, I wonder if we are talking about the same hotel. PdlP is by FAR the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. And the noisiest. (And this include some of the crappy hotels in Bayswater, London.) We stayed in room 313, facing the main road. Our travel agent (Apollo) said some noise. It was heavy traffic 24/7. And the garbage dumpsters where all the clubs near by emtied their bottles, was just below. Need I say more... The room floor was so dirty, that our feet was black after walking around for two minutes after showering. Black feet or ruin another pair of socks. Our choise. We never saw any cockroaches inside, but there was plenty on our balcony.

The staff were not unfriendly, but seemed uninterested in our problems. Not willing to help out. We did not ask them for help a lot, but when we asked if they could contact out travelagent, the guy behind the desk said "No!", and pointed towards some payphones. We never asked again.

Noisy, dirty and unfriendly staff. So why am I rating them 2 instead of 1? Don't know. But I'll save the "1", because I'm sure there must be something even worse out there.
