“Take me back to Marola!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

Me, my partner and our 3 year old daughter stayed here from the 8th-15th of October and we found it complete perfection. We chose this place based on previous trip advisor reviews and the fact that it was an amazing price. We didn't arrive until very late at night but we were greeted with a very helpful man at reception who offered us a glass of bubbly and checked us in easily. We stayed in room 202 (Orchid Room) which was fantastic, clean, well equipped and the balcony was amazing and spacious with sun loungers and a table and chairs. We paid for the Wifi which was 18Euros for the week and we had no problems with it at all. We had breakfast in the hotel one morning which was nice, lots of choice and they catered well for Children. We also ate dinner one night in the restaurant which was a buffet style arrangement but again, there was plenty of choice and the food was enjoyable. On the fourth day into our holiday we received a knock at the door and we were greeted by a member of the hotel staff who gave us a fruit basket and a bottle of bubbly, this was such a lovely touch. The pool was great, always clean and easy to grab a sunbed. The pool bar was usually quiet unless it was happy hour (between 5-6pm and 9-10pm) 2 for 1 on drinks, I definitely recommend the Marola cocktail! The room was cleaned 5 days a week and we were always supplied with new towels. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the nearest big Supermarket. We would highly recommend Little Italy to eat, it's just across the road from the hotel. Overall we cannot fault this place, it was perfect in everywhere and every single member of staff we interacted with could not do not enough to make our family holiday a fantastic one. We're already looking at booking for next year!

Room Tip: Try and book a superior room, the balconies are much larger

Read lots of reviews before choosing this place, was not disappointed. Very clean everywhere, and a particularly nice pool area. Apartments are a decent size. Only downside is the lack of air conditioning. Staff are all very pleasant and friendly

We booked 10 days in October staying in a one bedroomed apartment. Definitely worth the little extra it costs.
We had room 404. 404 - 406 have sun in the morning till around 1.30.
Rooms 401, 402, 403, are on the other side of the building and have sun pretty much the rest of the day.
401-406 are all on the top floor at the side of the building. We were probably closest to the road out of 404 405 & 406 but heard absolutely no road noise at all. Did hear the lift but it certainly wasn't a problem and I am a light sleeper.
The rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. Twin beds.
I slept soooo well! I wish I could've taken the pillows home.
You are supplied towels for the pool and for your rooms.
The fan was sufficient enough for the time of year and perhaps being in the shade for the afternoon helped keep it cool.
The pool is super clean, the staff hose everything down and go around every single sunbed, hand rail ect with a cloth.
The sunbeds all appear new and are comfy. It wasn't too much of a problem getting one most days, though I suspect in busy seasons you might need to be up early.
Pool bar is perfect. Happy hours changed whilst we were there from 5-7pm to 5-6pm & 9-10pm. 2 vodka tonics E2.50!!!! 2 cocktails E5.00!! I can recommend the pina colada :) Even at regular times 2 vodkas + mixers for E5.00 is still pretty good!

Kitchen has a lack of work space but there is a large table you could use.
Large balcony.
I never once worried about safety in the apartments and we didn't have a safe this time.

A walk around the back of the hotel will take you on a path which is a short cut to the beach.
Follow the winding road down from the front of the hotel and you will see the Mare Nostrum, which is where the safari centre is, well worth a visit. A leisurely 10 min walk to either.
We were recommended by another hotel guest to try a small restaurant called li'torel,(I think, I remembered it sounded like 'little' something?) Cannot find it on t.a.
It is on the sea front, close to le mar, friends bar, I think there may be a dive centre next door and has a Scottish guy at the menu, there is no harassment here!!!
Here they do a 3 course meal for E8.95, so we did wonder!! However, it was lovely, we both had steaks and they were delicious, especially for that price.

Will definitely return. Thank you.

Room Tip: Top Floor 401 - 403 get sun afternoon 404 - 406 get sun in the morning No noise at all.

The best time I ever had, very friendly staff, nice rooms, very close to everything wonderful pool area we have already decided to go back next year I would recommend it to anyone I can't comment on the food as we only ate breakfast there once, as it was very cheap to take a walk down to the front to eat and there are some of the best restaurants I've ever been to my only complaint are the lookie lookie men on the beach front they are annoying but also nothing to do with mar ola park.

This is a spotless place to stay, the rooms are cleaned every day apart from Wednesdays and Sundays, every sun lounger and table by the pool is cleaned daily as is the area around the pool, all are washed down every morning by 9:00am. The pool is open from 9am till 9pm. No shortage of beds, umbrellas or tables. There is a pool bar which stays open till well after 9. And happy hour is from 5pm till 7pm. This pool is never packed, and you can use lilos, and jumping/diving in is not a problem or doing 'bombs'! And towels are provided 4 for the pool area and 4 for the apt.
They have a games room with free wifi, internet computers, fuseball x2, air hockey and a pool table, most are only €1 per go.
There is a gym which also has a table tennis table ( €10 deposit for this but it's returned when you give back the paddles and ball, so no charge there).
Across from the gym is a self service laundry with washing machine and a dryer.
The rooms are well laid out with huge balconies, well our one did anyway, room 122. Our friends were in 101 and they get the sun all day we had it in the morning till 12/1pm. We went for the superior room or 1 bed apt as there was three of us, 2 adults and a child. We also booked air con units prior to arriving, they were well worth the €50 (discounted as we booked 2 units a second one for friends.) they are a bit noisy but the room was lovely and cool, just remember to stick a piece of paper or another card in the slot inside the door for the electricity or it will shut off! The towels are laid out differently every day ( swans/ flowers etc) there is also bath robes and a hair dryer in the bathroom. The kitchen has a coffee maker, kettle, toaster and microwave.
When we arrived the safe was locked so we couldn't use it. We said it to the lady on reception who told us an engineer would have to come tomorrow to fix it as it was after 10pm when we said it. The next day at about 1pm nobody had come so I went to reception again. And was told (by a man this time.) that as he didn't know what we looked like he couldn't call the engineer as one of us would have to be in the apt when the man came to fix it. I thought this very good as it shows they won't let anyone into the room that isn't staff. He arrived 20 minutes later and it was sorted in less than 2 minutes.
The staff are really friendly every one of them from the reception, to bar , to restaurant, to cleaning staff. I could not say which was more friendly as each staff member was nicer than the next.
We ate every morning in the restaurant €6 per adult and €3 per child. There is a lot of other restaurants close by that do breakfast cheaper but at mar ola park you have so much choice and can eat as much as you like, we had a big breakfast in the morning and that did us till evening time when we went out for dinner. ( go to the 'Mongolian resturant' in Los christianos at least once - fabulous food, and eat the buffet, it's tapinyaki style, so it's all cooked in front of you, and you pick everything you want to eat. 10/10 for this place).
There is a 24 hour supermarket just up the road 1 to 2 minutes away, don't go late at night, can be a bit 'doggie'. I went up at 11pm ish and didn't feel safe. This was the only time all week I felt like this. Wait till the morning and go to the big supermarket down the street and it's much cheeper too.
All in all I would highly recommend mar ola park, and will definitely be back. This was our 6th trip to this area, and mar ola park is definitely the cleanest, and the friendliest.
Thank you to all the staff for a lovely holiday.
Go bike rafting ( get collected at apt and they drive you up the mountain and you free wheel 46km down it to Los christianos, spectacular views all the way down, and then they drop you back. Bubbly at the finish and a picnic provided half way down. €36 per adult and €27 per child- quote my destination).
Also go to siam park, if you like water slides this is a must, but buy a fast pass extra €15 but so worth it as you get to skip the really long queues. But only use them after 1 pm when the queues are really long as you are supposed to use them only once for each ride but half of the time they don't even mark the band to say you've had your go! This is €33 per adult and €22 per child but you can go a second time for €16 if you buy before you leave and use it within the next 14 days.
Monkey park is also good €10 per adult and €5 per child, bring grapes as they don't like the food you can buy there.

The hotel is very clean and the cleaners do a great job. The pool area is nice and quiet, no radios allowed here. New very comfortable sun loungers have been added.

Just a couple of point s to pick up on. Firstly, the main fan in the room is situated directly below the main light. This causes a strobing effect in the room. This could cause seizures, also it is annoying.
Secondly, health and safety issue, the kitchen is way to small. The sink is directly next to a microwave and a oven hob. There is only one power socket which is behind the microwave oven which is a nuisance if you need to plug other appliances in like a toaster. The socket has become quite loose and dangerous.
Thirldly, avoid higher floors on the north side, when the restaurants are open the vents from the kitchens make a buzzing noise in the room. The noise comes from the fourth floor but vibrates downwards.
