My wife and I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and were impressed with the whole experience of the hotel. When you went down to the pool you could get a fresh clean beach towel to use on the sun bed for free. The food was outstanding, and there was a member of restaurant, staff checking the temperature of the food with a probe, dress code was advised in the holiday brochure. the rooms were always clean and the air con was very good. The entertainment was fine and finished around 11-11.30pm. All the staff were very polite and very helpful,we were disappointed when it was the end of our stay because we enjoyed it so much. So much so we decided to return. At check in. This was fine and informative I was shown a photograph and a written statement about dress code for gents for evening meal, I was told "no flip flops, shorts, or vests." The restaurant is air conditioned so dressing as advised for evening meal, it was noticed the a member of staff on several evenings escorted gents into the restaurant wearing flip flops, shorts (not those that are cut off`s) and vests"??. There was a good variety of food to choose from albeit barely warm. The air con in the was almost non existent the room was clean and over looked the pool.No free towels this time. There was a bar on the island in the middle of the pool but has now been altered for the privilege guests. There were guests who got up early and bagged a sun bed and parasol around 7am then disappear for several hours, unaware that a member of staff and the security guard would remove there towels and belongings and put them in safe storage, for collection at 5pm. We watched this and found it very hilarious, when they returned to find some one else had got the sun bed and parasol. There is a notice informing ALL guests about this. All the staff are always polite and friendly, however there is one exception, one of the life guards, on several occasions several English guests asked the life guard if he could help and find a parasol his response was shrug his shoulders and walk off, about 10 minutes later a German couple asked him the same thing and yes you`ve got it he returned with a parasol. There is a shortage of parasols around the pool. The entertainment is okay when it finishes around 11.15. However one night there was a party that went on till 1am the music was deafening and to round off the night was a fire works display. I bet those guests with small children were well pleased

Dear Mr.

Thanks for your review. We have read it quietly and we want let you know that on this high temperatures, we decide to flexibilice the dress code for the restaurant, keeping the same standard, so we don´t understand very well where you found this downhill, but we accept your vision and we thank you about this.

Absolutely brilliant hotel located close to some fantastic beaches. Out of the way of the party area of Playa de las Americas but close enough to walk if you want to join in. Food was fantastic, everything was on offer at the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, bar staff particularly funny and friendly. The pool area is lovely and a great place to relax in the sun. The only problems (which are hardly problems) are that the wifi signal is very poor in the rooms (but excellent at the bar and reception area) and the onsite evening enetertainment is very loud and goes on for a while every evening which is a bit of an irritation when trying to chill out. But overall definitely a 5* from me!

I think the hotel was extrermely good. There was activities for all age range of kids. Even when the sun was not out the pool was very well heated. Most of the time at the hotel I spent swimming or eating. I think its should be over a 5 star hotel. The only problem was that tennis wasnt avadible to hire and you had to wait alot in the a la carte restraunt but when in the normal restraunt you could where you´re shorts as they were not as strict. ¨)

Room Tip: Floor one is great for when the lifts are busy!

I have recently returned home from a two week trip to the H10 Conquistador (16-07-2013 to 31-07-2013). My expectations were definitely exceeded upon arriving at the hotel.

RECEPTION AND HOTEL INTERIOR
The reception area is beautiful! And the reception staff are so friendly! We were checked in quickly, and we didn't even have to leave our passports overnight as they scanned them at the desk whilst we were there! (this is good, as it's always worrying leaving it and having to go back the following day). The hotel interior is absolutely stunning, the recent refurbishment on the hotel has definitely paid off.

ROOMS
Once we made our way up to our rooms, we continued to be impressed by the design and cleanliness of our room. The interior design is spot on and very spacious! There is even a free mini fridge in the room and two complimentary bottles of water.

POOL AREA
The pool area is lovely, however if you like a sunbed around the pool or a sunbed at all, you need to be up and about for the latest 10. Be aware though, you cannot reserve sunbeds before 9am, unless someone stays to look after the beds (the security and lifeguard WILL move the towel otherwise). However, after 9am you are good to leave the towels down and go for breakfast or whatever you fancy. Also, the lifeguards are very strict on what is allowed in the pool, which is basically nothing (no balls, lilo's or rubber rings).

ALL INCLUSIVE / FOOD & DRINK
On our first night, we arrived and checked in at around 8.30pm, we were given our All Inclusive wristbands and allowed to enter the Tajinaste restaurant (buffet) for our evening meal. The food was absolutely delicious! There was something for everyone, with various different sections with food available from around the world. There are even chefs stood cooking fresh steaks, fish, paella, pancakes and more! The best bit is definitely the dessert section with ice cream, sweets, chocolate fountain, fresh fruit, squirty cream (yum yum!) and loads more. A good place to sit for your meals in the Tajinaste restaurant is the outside seating area. There's a lovely breeze out there! We loved the food that much we didn't even bother going in the other restaurants.

As for the drinks, the choice really shocked us (in a good way). There are international spirits available such as Bacardi, Malibu, Smirnoff, Bells and a wide choice of cocktails and soft drinks. We were a little confused on our first night during the evening meal, whether or not the drinks were included but they are! (and they are bottled drinks! bonus!). One thing that did get annoying during our stay was the queues at the pool side bar. No matter what time we went to that bar there was a 10-15 minute queue.

ENTERTAINMENT
The daytime entertainment was the usual water polo, darts, aqua gym and so on and the ladies that handled the activities were very friendly.

As for the night entertainment, the professional acts were really good! It was obvious the acts were carefully chosen, and not just any old tom, dick and harry came on.

Children's entertainment was brill, although we don't have kids, the activities arranged kept them all busy!

I'm not sure of the man's name who would host the evening entertainment, but he was annoying! He would drag on and on and on and onnnnnn about nothing. People would slowly disappear when it was time for him to speak.

Some days during our stay there were themed events such as the Spanish Party. This was a fun day and night with loads of related activities.

LOCATION
We were very impressed with where the hotel was, as it's literally a 2-3 minute walk away from shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. (a 1 min walk away from McDonalds!)

If you like nightlife and want to visit Veronica's Strip then it's about a 10 min walk away. Which is good as it's not smack bang in the middle of all the noise.

Then again, if you don't particularly want the rowdiness of the clubs and bars, just a short 3-4 min walk in the other direction you have lot's of shops, family bars, mini golf and a lovely water fountain show.

EXCURSIONS
I know this isn't part of the hotel itself, but for anyone visiting and interesting in going to Loro Parque, be aware of the hectic arrangement of transfers! The transfer pick-up point for the H10 Conquistador is the "Best Tenerife" hotel which is just across the road, however it is organised chaos. There are around 8 coaches arrive all at the same time, and nobody knows which bus they need! So, be prepared for this! (having said that, the park itself was an amazing day out!)

Overall, I would recommend the Conquistador to anyone looking at Playa De Las Americas, it is beautiful and in a great location.

12 of us (6 couples) had the pleasure of staying at this hotel from the 18th -25th July, for my 50th birthday celebrations. My husband booked 12 privilege rooms and requested that we were all on the same floor and close to each other. From the moment that we arrived, we were made to feel very special, and that nothing would be too much trouble, and indeed it wasnt. Although two of our friends did not arrive until late that evening and two more did not arrive until two days later, they honoured our request and made sure that we were all on the same floor, and by each other, which I am sure must have been extremely difficult for them to juggle as there are so many people constantly booking in and out of the hotel. Our room looked freshly re-furbed, the bathroom was clean and we had a lovely sea-view . When we first arrived in the room, the shower was not working too well and the air-con was blowing quite warm, but true to their word, as soon as we phoned down to tell them, somebody was there in a few minutes and fixed both immediately, we could not fault the maintenance team at all. (They cant put things right if you dont let them know, its no good coming home and moaning about it afterwards).

We had breakfast in the a-la-carte restaurant every morning, we were always met by smiling faces and the table was always ready and waiting for us (set for 12) and most mornings had flowers scattered over it, that Maguel had gone out and hand picked, that i know because one of my friends watched him do it one morning from his balcony (sorry Maguel, i hope i havent got you in trouble :) ). The staff were extremely friendly and went out of there way to make sure our breakfasts were perfect and exactly what we had ordered and more.

The hotel reception staff, buffet staff and bar staff were all extremely friendly too. It was definately worth paying the extra for privilege, as we spent most of our days on the private terrace where you helped yourself to drinks (alcaholic or soft) fresh fruit or pastries, (the hotel advertises that there are seperate privilege beds sectioned off by the pool, there are but you have to be up early to get them, could definately do with more). When at the hotel bar you could have any top shelf drinks at no extra cost, no matter how expensive the branded spirit, and each evening lovely Rodolfo would always remember what each one of us drank!

Over all, we had the most fantastic holiday, we all agreed that we would definately go back there again and would certainly recommend it. Any hotel is only as good as the team that work together and at this hotel they definately seem too. Mariolla and Miguel, are the two main faces that made our holiday so succesful, and we thank you, you surely should be the future managers.................
