H10 Conquistador
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We stayed here in a standard room with our 7 year old son and had a fantastic holiday. The hotel is very large and in an excellent position. A door in the grounds takes you right onto the beach front. The resort is very flat and you can walk either to Los Christianos or to Adeje, if you like a decent long walk; though it's not entirely flat all the way to Adeje. You see a lot of wheelchairs in the resort so that reinforces how flat and accommodating it is for those with any disabilities or for pushing buggies and cyclists.

The standard room was on the smallish size of things, especially with a third bed for the wee one but it was very clean and modern with a small balcony and a decent bathroom with shower and bath. The beds were comfortable and the room had good air-conditioning units. If there are more than two of you I'd recommend taking more coat hangers. Additional shelves would have helped utilise the space available. There was an empty fridge too which was very useful and a safe in the room too. The balcony had a drying line contraption though maybe pack some pegs - it can be blowy. I'd recommend a sea view as it really is lovely and added to our enjoyment. I would point out though that the evening entertainment is outside by the pool and goes on and on, sometimes till after 1am and the music does carry. We could sleep through it but are all deep sleepers - if you aren't, maybe consider a room to the front of the hotel, though, of course, you then sacrifice a lovely view for shops and a busy road junction.

There are two restaurants, we ate in the standard one and found it among the very best we've eaten in abroad. Huge selections and very good quality. Buffet with some show cooking. Occasionally a group of spanish dancers appeared and walloped their heels about in the middle of the dining room which the staff seemed to enjoy more than the guests - other than striking me as a bit annoying, they didn't do any harm, and some people may have liked it. There is another italian restaurant for those in privilege class and full board. They have their own sun terrace and hot tub too and those big square bed loungers if you feel like splashing the cash.

You pay to use the spa, I understand, but the gym is free. There is a hairdressers on site too.

The reception staff were very professional, efficient and knowledgeable, especially Natalia. Staff in general were very hard-working and pleasant. The hotel has eight floors and therefore a lot of capacity so the four small lifts struggle to cope at busy times. That could be quite annoying as some nationalities have yet to grasp the concept of mannerly conduct. Also there weren't really enough sun loungers for everyone. They operate a policy where you can't leave towels on beds for too long before they are removed...so they said. I saw it happen once but in practice; they certainly weren't ripping the towels off the beds when you were in the pool and we saw claimed beds lying for hours with no one around. You can also hire beach towels I believe which saves you packing them.

The terrace bar is very pleasant and you use your room card to put everything on your account so you don't need to take cash down with you. Everything is spotless and although the large pool is unheated, the smaller one is heated and delightful if you'd rather avoid a sudden heart attack. There are no inflatables allowed in either pool so don't pack them.

Overall, for a relaxing holiday with very good food and a superb location, you'd struggle to do better than the Conquistador. We'd certainly go back.

Room Tip: If you don't want to wait for the lift, ask for a lower floor and use the stairs.

We stayed at the Conquistador on an all inclusive package. The hotel is presented to a very high standard, but the people who work there make the difference!! The staff work extremely hard to make the holiday extra special for all the family and do all this with a smile.
The food is of a high standard, well prepared and varied.
We went all inclusive this time and it was definitely worth it and the alcohol was the well known brand names.
The seafront location offers great views and walks and is within easy walking distance of designer shops.
I will definitely return and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Dear Mrs.

We thank you for letting us to know your opinion. Obviously we agree with you that our best and powerfull point is our staff. They are working so hard daily to get the target that everyone on the hosteltry wants to get, the happyness of every guest. It is very high target but we keep trying day by day.

Hoping to see you again.

Kind regards,

Our stay at the Conquistador was fab!! we stayed from the 2nd July for 10 nights in room 723 the decor was modern, the room was very clean and we had a fantastic seaview. We paid for a seaview but I also emailed the hotel 2 weeks before we flew out, to request a high floor and quiet room which is what we were given. The only downfall was we never got the sun on the balcony at anytime of the day! The hotel is kept immaculately clean in all areas and has a contemporary look inside and out. We stayed half board and enjoyed all the choices of food breakfast and evening, the crepes at breakfast were excellent!! The hotel is in a great location, beaches out front to your left and right, a nice walk to Los Cristianos along the seafront, there are lots of shops to look around and some nice restaurants/bars. We really enjoyed playing crazy golf at Santiago mini golf which is a 5mins walk from the hotel. All in all we had a fab holiday and if we were to go back to Tenerife we would defiantly stay at the H10 Conquistador.

Having stayed at the Conquistador many years ago we were aware of its great location. We went back this year after staying at a sister hotel in Lanzarote. We were not disapponted. The Hotel itself has been refurbished to a very high standard and is very clean and cool.
We stayed All Inclusive in a privilige room which gave us access to the privilige lounge, a private sunbathing area and a very welcomed late checkout.
The welcome we had upon check in was warm and informative. The room spotless with a great view.
Having stayed in other 4 star hotels and experienced buffet-style dining we had had our disappointments (canteen style dining and poor variety and quality) but not so at the Conquistador.
Although another perk of the privilige package is an a la carte breakfast and full access to the italian restaurant you would not need to rely on these for an enjoyable meal. The main restauarnt offers a great selection of food (the seafood selection superb!) , and an option to eat outside aswell. You do not feel rushed and the staff are fiendly and helpful.
The Bar near reception was a lovely place to relax and the staff again brilliant.
A special mention should go to Miguel who is a wonderful character and could not do enough to welcome us.
All in all a wonderful holiday - One we look to repeat next year!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor which had great Sea views - it is also nice to be able to look over the...

Stayed may 2013 family of 3. The hotel is very modern and well furnished. Looked better in real life. Food was great and staff were fine. Would highly recommend the speciality restaurant! We went AI and were entitled to many things, however they offer a privilege club where they had access to comfy sunbeds etc- looked amazing but had already paid enough to go and didn't feel we were missing out on a great deal. My only niggle was when our return flight time changed (Thomson's fault) we had to wait around all day for an exceptionally late flight (11:50pm). I enquired about paying extra for a room upon arrival and was told to ask again on the actual day- which I thought was a bit late. I enquired again a week in (lady wrote something down in a diary) and was again told to come back on the day of departure. On the morning of the day we were leaving I asked about the room and was told to come back after breakfast (surely they would know how many guests they were expecting), anyhow we had breakfast only to be told there were no rooms available. I felt a little fobbed off and the diary wasn't even cross referenced (think they only wrote something in to look official)! Was offered a 1/2 hr slot at the spa shower rooms which we used (1/2hr was not long enough with a 1year old but this wasn't a problem). Would go back but feel they need a better system in place for late checkout rooms.
