Hotel Best Tenerife

Stayed at this hotel over the Easter break with family of 17 of us ranging from 8 months old to 75 years. The hotel room was very clean although slightly basic - four of us had a suite on the ground floor by the pool, this comprised of one double bed in an alcove, large bathroom, and two single beds in another alcove plus a small lounge area with put you up bed. The patio never saw the sun but this didnt matter as 3 steps up and you were by the pool bar and pool. Pool area very clean, the smaller pool was lovely and warm and shallow enough for the kids to play safely the larger and deeper pool was very cold, although this was nice and refreshing on the hot days. Lifeguard on duty all days.Plenty of sunbeds and parasols but you do have to get up early to reserve these. Pool bar service was very quick even when there were queues and found them to be polite and helpful at all times.
The food was plentiful and varied, although sometimes it was luke warm, the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating they seated 17 of us together each day duirng lunch and dinner never queued too long for anything. I would imagine if you stayed for two weeks the food would get repetitive at times. The piano bars was nice for a few drinks before heading out or going into the main bar area, the entertainment during the day was well thought out but the evening entertainment left a lot to be desired. The hotel is situated in a nice area and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants near by.
Never interacted with the rep but seemed to be there at allocated times.
Would definitely return again.

Just back from 1 week in this hotel with my wife. Firstly the room was clean but when we went into the bathroom there was a bath mat in the bath. When this was lifted there was a big brown stain. This was reported to the rep in the morning and again in the evening. He arranged a change of rooms for us after dinner. This room was smaller but bath was clean. Set the safe but the buttons would not open it. Luckily I had not put our articles in it. This was at 9 p.m. Reported this to reception but was told that the guy who could fix this was not available till 11 am the next day. The next day at 1110 the guy appeared and sorted the safe. On the last day of the holiday we went for a shower to find that there was no water in the bathroom. The reception stated that it was general. On the plus side of the holiday the weather was good. The hotel did cater for my wife who is coeliac and requires a gluten free diet and the food containers were clearly marked "Gluten" and "Non Gluten". The only thing is that I noticed customers using the same tongs or ladels for both containers thus contaminating "Non Gluten"

We stayed here for a week with friends and combined we had children with us ranging from 17 months to 12 years. The pool was very nice although only a small part of it is heated. Staff at this resort are extremely arrogant and rude, the only friendly staff were the cleaners. We got very annoyed with the blatant arrogance from bar, waiting and reception staff throughout our stay. Overall the hotel is very dated, when we first arrived at about 7.30pm in the evening, our room wasn't even ready and to be honest, reception staff simply weren't bothered. Food - put it this way, i spent 3 days with severe food poisioning and had to call a doctor out. Would never go back to this hotel and it simply IS NOT 4 star, i wouldn't send my dogs there.

Room Tip: Don't go there! If you really must, don't get a room at the back of the hotel near the extra...

Just arrived back having spent a week here during the Easter break. The Animation team firstly are fab, my daughter liked Viioleta very much so thank you. The rooms were big spacious and very clean at all times .. The breakfast was OK however felt it was always busy and 10 o'clock cut off through a holiday period should be considered. I have been to Tenerife on many occasions and love this part of it with easy walking access to Los Christianos and Adeje . Will be back for definite.

Booked best tenerife as our usual hotel was full. Went for a week all inclusive with two children aged 12 and 15
Location is very good! Few minutes walk to beach and shops/bars. Bus for water park is right outside
rooms are large with 2 double beds... tv in room but no english channels ( none we could pick up anyway). Small balcony
Only one restaurant... which got a bit boring and sometimes had to queue... Lots of food choice and presented well. Some really nice tasty food!!! Never went hungry....
drinks... Local spirits only. Weak so never got drunk!! long queues at pool bar... Allowed a burger only in day and chips and hotdogs you to pay for??? Come on best! All inclusive should be allowed chips and hot dogs?!?!
plenty of beds but you need be up early to reserve!
Pools good... Separate heated childrens pool. No slides is a minus point :-(
Entertainment was good in day and evening
reception was always busy and slow service... This needs to improve as it was frustrating
Overall a good week but i would say hotel is more a 3 star and not 4!
due to the limited food and drinks and amenities being limited.

Having first stayed at this hotel in the early 80's when it was known as the Tenerife Princess, ownership changed to the "Best hotels" group a few years ago. Having stayed here in December 2012 & Easter 2013 on both occasions all the staff were very attentive, helpful to make your stay that more enjoyable.

The room was nice and clean with a mini bar in the room (unstocked), hairdryer, safe and access to paid for wifi in the room, free wifi in the public areas. (join the "best" club and get free wifi, free safe, free pool towel) They do charge a 20 euro deposit for the pool towel and a 2 euro fee if you wish to have a clean one each day but the deposit is not required for club members. The pool area has a large sun terrace with sun umbrellas and sunbeds aplenty but other clients still tended to "reserve" these with their towels despite signs advising not to do so, heated pool which is more designed for the kiddies and a bigger pool with a water fountain feature which is not heated. Temperatures in this pool were dependent on the heat of the sun, in December and March this was cold but I expect this to heat up during summer months. There is an activity team who do water aerobics, french bowls, shooting amongst other activities. Not one cockroache sighted on each visit in the hotel grounds !!

The restaurant was a large buffet style with "show cooking" chef stations cooking a fish/meat dish. The selection was plentiful with a cheese counter as well. I went all inclusive which gave you free drink at dinner, local liquor, draft lager (san miguel), red/white wine, soft drinks. International brands were available at a supplement. The pool bar served burger/cheese & or ham toasted sandwiches for all inclusive clients but if you wanted something else such as pizza/hot dog/fries this was an extra charge, alternatively, you could get off the sunbed and go in to the buffet for lunch for the kiddies & us adult kiddies we even got free ice cream on the all inclusive option. Although the buffet is extensive it can get a bit samey if you went for 2 weeks but there is nothing stopping you going out to a local restaurant where a dinner costs around 20 euro if you want a change from the buffet style. Over each week I went I didn't go hungry/thirsty !

The 2 bars in the hotel were good with a piano bat in the hotel lobby and the lounge bar but the entertainment could have been improved upon, geared more to children and not very professional.

Plus points : great location, 5 mins to beach. good views from balcony. staff attentive
areas for improvement : entertainment, enforce no reserving of sun bed rule !

Overall a great hotel and I would stay here again.

The hotels location is great for all of Playa de las Americas situated close to the main shopping, entertainment areas and beach. It is a well run hotel with mostly friendly staff. The reason we say mostly friendly staff was due to a certain member of the bar staff regimenting the all inclusive offer. This ends at 23.30hrs at night so when trying to get a simply bottle of water to take to the bedroom you would either be informed that the bar was closed or that you had a pay for it. Not a problem however on a few occasions this message was given quite abruptly by a certain member of staff. A little courtesy should be taught to this one certain person. The hotel is now showing signs of becoming tired and could do with a refurbishment soon; especially in the lobby area where it appears that they are having a little problem with a water leak somewhere in the ceiling! The bedrooms are comfortable and cleaned daily; however the TV is disappointing having only Sky News as the one and only English Channel; all other channels being Spanish. The restaurant service is great with a big selection of food served. Although the activity team worked hard most of the night time entertainment was really poor and this could do with a full review. The two running machines in the gym area could do with replacing; one was really rattly when running on it and the other had a broken control buttons; both emergency cords had not fastening clips and were tied to the machines in a hanging down loop. Overall through if you are after a place that you can chill out at I would still recommend this hotel - hopefully a refurb is planned soon though...
