Hotel Best Tenerife
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Just arrived from Tenerife. My parents were staying at this hotel, while my daughter and I were based at another hotel, but visited Best Tenerife quite often, and saw the rooms, the pool area and the main restaraunt. I must say that this is a typical family (I would rather say kids') hotel. The lobby, rooms and equipment are 3* and somewhat shabby, but generally OK, as long as you are not too sofisticated. The hotel was overcrowded in October, with long lines at the entrance to the main restarauntat at breakfast and dinner, busy sunbeds all around the pool and crowds of people everywhere. The population is mostly families with kids and old couples. The animation was great, especially for kids. The food was good with a wide choice, but nothing which would especialy surprise me. The staff was very friendly.

If you are young and go to Best Tenerife with your second half, think twice. Forget romantic dinners or quiet surroundings and such - your rest will turn into a nightmare. But if you go on vacation with kids, if you enjoy feeling as a part of the entire mob and being in the center of the atmosphere - this hotel just might be considered as a place to stay. But do not expect too much. Personally, I would not select it as a place to stay with my daughter, but this is just my point of view. Some people may find it not bad at all.

Room Tip: Beware of rooms overlooking the A/C unit!

We had a suite which was spacious with a lovely terrace although very public. Room was very damp and I slept in lounge because I count cope with the smell. Ok we should have complained from day 1 but was with elderly parent and smell seemed to get worse as week went on. did complain and male staff were nice and gave us a small refund .apart from this room everything else was great. Son had a twin room with pool view and it was lovely. Wish they hadn't given us this room to start with, they must have known it was damp, mould was all over Walls and paint peeling.

Room Tip: Don't let them give you suite 5 .

Stayed here in october, arrived at the hotel reception quickly check us in and we got first floor which was just through the piano bar.
rooms were spacious -a double bed each! cleaned daily fresh towels daily (if you put dirty ones in the bath night before otherwise they wont change them) televisions only had sky news but who stays in watching tv?! balconies were clean not a cockroach in sight!! beds clean plenty of wardrobe space. the saftey deposit box is 2.50 euros per day rental.

the pool area was kept as clean as poss , some sunbeds could have done with cleaning and replacing but overall good. sunbeds are reserved and i see this as unfair but i enjoy the beach aswell. there a jacuzzi and a massage tent were you can get a range of massages at good prices ranging from 20 euros to 45 euros!
the pool bar only serve chips and burgers on all inclusive however lunch in the buffet is servied 1-3 so just go there, loads more selection.

service at the hotel excellent bar waiters were as quick as they could be, slushes arent all inclusive and neither are crisps.
for the couple of nights we staye din the hotel the entertainment was good showing a magic show, flamenco , bingo, quizes

food- i think the food was excellent for an all inclusive hotel. I am picky and so was my friend but there was plenty of choice! there was a fresh salad bar serving seafood salad, pasta salad loads of choice! there were fresh steaks being cooked, fresh cod fillets being cooked , fresh vegetables . a big pan of fresh paella every night! chips, burgers, hot dogs...fresh bread....deserts were great -icecream,cakes,jelly,cheese board and crackers .
breakfast is great full english, german, pastris, fresh eggs an omlettes being made for you , fresh juices. all inclusive get free drinks with evening meal and you help yourself to drinks at lunch -beer/soft drinks. and juices and coffee/tea at breakfast you help yourself to aswell. they have themed nights they had a mexican night with sombreros and roses while we stayed there with fajitas, quesadillas, salsa ,nachos ect fab!!
all i can say is the food is excellent for an all inclusive hotel i would return.

location is brill 5 minutes walk to the beach and centre where all the shops bars and resturants are about 20 mins walk to los cristianos which is nice!
10 mins walk to veronicas strip where all the clubs are.
plenty to do at night lots of entertainment in pubs/bars if you dont fancy staying in the hotel.

overall great hotel would deffo recommend!

Room Tip: a room on first floor with pool view is good!

relaxed ,comfortable ,informal, friendly hotel in an ideal location.I would definitely rate it four stars.Other reviewers have given a good account of the hotel so will concentrate on other things for the first time visitor. The fridge in your room is free(my next hotel in gran canaria is 3 euros a day].WiFi in the sitting areas adjacent to reception free(my next hotel 19 euros weekly].Little things but they do add up for those of us not on an unlimited budget. For the tea lovers at breakfast there are teapots available and If you like your own brand of tea take a few teabags with you and fill up with hot water.Incidentally the breakfasts are first rate and the cook is particularly good with pastries. At lunchtimes (for the all inclusive) wine and beer is on tap and the red wine whilst only of the house variety is more drinkable than many similar establishments i have been to.I really like the water available on draught also, choice of plain, cold or sparkling,a nice touch. In the evenings its only a 200 metre stroll to the centre of Playas ,see the coloured fountains to music and enjoy the lights and sights. Not being an entertainment fan we spent the evenings in the piano bar or quieter sitting areas, very enjoyable. Please be courteous to all the staff, from cleaners up they are first rate and they are collectively one of the things at the hotel we really like. Finally, price:In the centre of Playas there are only a small number of four star hotels. In my experience(I have stayed at three others) they are all good but if you compare current prices the Best very much has the edge.Have a good holiday.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at Best Tenerife. have been to Tenerife a few times but found this to be my best hotel to of stayed in. Although the rooms need updating, there was everything that you could need. we were all inclusive and i was slighty worried as im a fussy eater but found that there was always sometihng that i liked. Overall the holiday was brilliant, staff were extermely polite and helpful always speaking when passing. would reccomend this hotel to anyone and will most definatly revisit this hotel in the future.
Also if anyone has visited this hotel before could they possibly tell me the facebook page for the animation team......thanks!

Room Tip: i would reccomend a high floor room for the better views!
