This hotel is right on the beach, lots of shops ,bars and restaurants nearby. The buffet food is first class, plenty of choice with show cooking and multi choice buffet. The rooms are looking a little in need of upgrade with not much storage space. The hotel facilities are really good ,a grand piano playing at breakfast and the pool area is huge.
To sum up a brilliant place to stay in a perfect location, you will not be let down.

stayed in Julio ceasar hotel for 2 weeks in September We have a disabled child and the management and staff were extremely helpful and considerate. The rooms are a little tired and in need of a bit of update but everything else was absolutely fab. The location is magic and extremely ideal for those in wheelchairs. We stayed on a B & B rate and ate out everynight - try the Monkey Grill - fab food.

We are hoping to return this year - this will be our third trip to this hotel.

What can I say! As we have stayed at this resort many times before, we've never splashed out on a plunge pool room until now! Can I just say that it was worth the extra money and gave you complete peace and quiet to lie and sunbathe on your balcony, have a wee glass of bubbly in your hand and have everything that you needed to hand - an outside shower should you wish to go out for something to eat, towels galore from the maids and a stunning open plan bathroom with a glass shower, large corner bath and twin sinks. Don't worry though, the WC was in a seperate room.

I do agree with some that say that these rooms could do with an update, yes the furniture was rather dated in its green wood style, however you're only in your room to sleep and get ready to go out!

We were bed and breakfast as there really as some fantastic restaurants around about and what was our favourite before, Sugar and Spices, has now been replaced by Mamma Mia within the centre next up from the Safari Centre which has the famous fountains!

We will go back to this hotel and specifically one that looks out onto the pool as the sun was beating down on your balcony by 12 noon! Just gave us time to go for breakfast, go for a walk around the resort, stop off for some refreshments for that days sunbathing and back on to the balcony in time for the winter sun! These rooms really are just perfect and worth the extra if you can afford to splash out. They would, I imagine, be even better in a hot summers day!

Give it a try, you'll be spoiled and never want to stay in a normal hotel room again!

Stayed in the Julio Caesar block on this hotel complex although the other 2 blocks were fully accessible as well as the adjoining Mediterranean Palace.
Rooms - Very clean and quite spacious with extra large beds - TV with BBC & ITV - Dual basin bathroom with Bath Robes supplied - Mini Bar which can be emptied and used as a fridge for your own drinks (Service Charge)
Hotel - Very spacious and decorated with marble throughout.
Pool - Medium sized pool in Mare Nostrum complex with kiddies pool & Jacuzzi - Sun beds with cushions and large towels provided every day (The towels can be taken to the beach) - Larger Pool in the Mediterranean Palace with canvas Sun Beds and towels.
Meals - I stayed B&B so can only comment on the breakfast menu which was excellent Self Service of Fruit, Cereal, Continental and Fried. I particulary enjoyed the Sparkling Wine every morning.
Staff - Very friendly and helpful from Management to Maids.
Bar Service - Apart from poolside coffee at £2 I did not use the hotel bars.
Entertainment - Cannot comment, I was out of the hotel each evening.
Local Bars and all types of Restaurants in abundance with prices as low as £1.50 for a pint of San Miguel, £2.50 for a local spirit & mixer. I particularly liked relaxing in "Surfers Bar" adjacent to Compostella Beach / Vista Sur where Lee , Lynn, Nicky and Jenny made us so welcome. They also cooked to order my favourite dish - A Chicken Parmo which was cooked to perfection by Simon the chef (Google "Parmo")
Overall a super hotel in a super location.
PS. The weather was excellent too even for December although the days are shorter than in Summer.

We have just returned from a week at the Mare Nostrum Resort, where we stayed at the Cleopatra Palace. We had a 3rd floor room with a sea view, which we were very pleased with. The room wasn't as grand as the rest of the hotel, but it was clean and comfortable and the TV had the 4 main English channels which was a surprise! We were pleased to be staying at the Cleopatra as opposed to the sister hotel, the Meditteranean Palace, as that was designed more for families with children and younger people - the noise from the entertainment area was quite excessive at times, whereas it was much more peaceful at the Cleopatra, especially during the daytime around the pool area - there was no activities here, to our great relief! We wanted a quiet, relaxing holiday, and that was exactly what we got at the Cleopatra. Location was excellent - lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly - we requested our room to be cleaned early in the mornings, and this request was granted. It was my birthday during our stay, a fact which the receptionist picked up on after seeing my passport when we checked in - on the day, I received a delicious birthday cake from the staff at breakfast time! We also used the room service on the night we arrived, as it was late, and this was efficient and enjoyable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay and were sorry to leave. I have been surprised by some of the negative reviews on this resort, but to sum up I would add the following:-

If you are looking for a lively holiday with entertainment each evening, or have a young family, then choose the Meditteranean Palace Hotel.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, in very idyllic surroundings, opt for the Cleopatra Palace Hotel.

We hope to go back again next year!

We have stayed here for 4 nights bed and breakfast. Exterior and reception areas looks wonderful. Was very disappointed with bedroom and dining areas very old fashioned. However the food was great as we ate there for 2 evenings. Pool very clean. Location fanastic.

Just returned from our 7th visit to the Cleopatra Palace (which says a lot if we've been 7 times). We were there on a b&b basis as we like to eat out in different Restaurants at night. The hotel is just fantastic from the moment you arrive with a champagne reception and our every need taken care of. As it was our Wedding Anniversary the room was candle lit on arrival with flowers on the bed and champagne and chocolates in the room. We spent a couple of days at the Atlantis chill area which is on the 4th floor of the Med Palace........this has a private swimming pool and the staff bring fresh juice, cocktails, fresh fruit, ice cream and sangria a different treat every hour brought to your sunbed.....ohh the luxury of it!!! The area is terrific for restaurants many of them above the dancing fountain in front of the hotel....and I have to mention Arrozal for the best paella I have tasted. The roman pool area was not too busy and there was a bit of room between sunbeds. Once again the breakfasts were great - lovely hot food plenty of choice - also cold selection of meats fish cheeses always fresh fruit and pastries doughnuts etc and plenty of champagne at breakfast for those wishing to partake!
I cannot wait to return probably March 2010.....Counting the weeks already!!!!
