“Wouldn't stay here again”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

As I have said I wouldn't stay here again, I was disappointed with the room when we turned up on the Sunday night. I had paid £50 to upgrade the room with the travel operator but god knows what I had paid for. The room was very basic and shabby, I must say that the shower was very powerful though and we always had hot water. We had to get downstairs before 9 am in order to get a sunbed as any later and you had no chance of getting one. By lunchtime the the pool area was in the shade so we had to go to the beach. The 2 young girls behind the bar were lovely, they worked long hours and really hard. The food was what you expect with all inclusive, it wasn't very warm and it seemed to be the same thing re-occuring. We found some lovely restaurants in the area where you could get a 3 course meal for under 10 euros each. The all inclusive drinks were fine, there was plenty of selection. The rose wine was lovely, normally when I'm abroad I can't stand the wine but this tasted very nice. What made the holiday were the people staying in the hotel, everyone said hello to each other and we met a few people who we had some good laughs with. All in all an enjoyable holiday but next time we go we'll stay in a different hotel. We paid £420 each for the week all inclusive yet if we'd have booked with Thomsons it was coming up at £670 each. I would have been gutted if I'd paid that much for the holiday.

Room Tip: If you get offered an upgrade by the travel operator I wouldn't bother as all rooms are the same...

We had a fantastic holiday despite staying in this hotel - Judith C's and the other negative reviews of the hotel say it all - I would like to say something nice, but sadly I honestly cannot think of anything to recommend this hotel. However the cleaning staff are friendly and do their best with what they are given to work with. I was treated to this holiday, so was unaware of the cost - which having looked at Thomson holidays, now makes me even sadder to think how much it cost to have the all inclusive option, as we did. My daughter and I couldn't even manage the breakfast after a couple of days, due to the cigarette smoke, poor quality food and facilities. This hotel is shabby and dated and the management are sullen and moody. The unattractive concrete structure.big walls around the pool area and courtyard in the centre seems to trap the cigarette smoke, it literally comes through the air vent in the bathroom. I had a smoker's cough by the end of the week and I don't even smoke! My family felt like in-mates rather than guests. We cut off the identity tags that they strap on you on arrival to allow you access to the fully inclusive - and broke free to explore the many other hotels and restaurants in the area, literally just using the hotel to sleep in. The reality is nothing like the misleading photographs Thomson use of the hotel. The rooms are very basic, thin worn blankets, mustard coloured bedding, tired and hard to clean dark brown wicker furniture, and a shower which fell off the wall the first time we used it. We managed one day of trying the full complement of meals, but the vinegar wine in a dirty glass and the green 7 up cups for most other drinks did not appeal and we did not use the all inclusive facilities and were not tempted to use the pool (all beds had towels on by about 9.30 am, there were only a few sun shades, and the floor area was littered with 7 up cups by mid afternoon). There are just too many other better options (hotels and restaurants) in the surrounding area to spend your hard earned holiday money on and the poor standards of this hotel should not be encouraged by big holiday companies like Thomsons.

Room Tip: Don't have a room facing inwards to the courtyard unless you are a smoker - a room facing the po...

After staying at these apartments about 20 years ago, we didn't pay too much attention to the mixed reviews, as we had a wonderful holiday then. Big big mistake!!!
We arrived on 9th Feb with our grand-daughter, who was full of excitement after our descriptions of what was in front of her. Second mistake!!!
After checking in, we were allocated our room on ground floor, to find it equiped with camp-bed crammed between two singles, (My grand-daughter is 16 years of age) so therefore paying 3 adult prices expected more.
We let this go, As it was an evening arrival and dark, we didn't check outside at this point, but next day discovered we got no light whatsoever on balcony, with next block towering over us.
We then went for an evening meal, on all-inclusive basis, to find no tables set, If you are lucky enough to find cutlery in the baskets, you then set your own table (this is definitely a first).
We then queued for food, which was plentiful,as no-one seemed to relish the cold vegetables and lukewarm meat, which was being shovelled into trays like pig-swill, by staff who looked overworked and under-paid.
We then went to see what entertainment was on, ( Nothing) There was entertainment 3 nights, for all of 15 minutes, when a girl came in with a tortoise,an iguana, and a skunk, WOW|||
At this point I went to queue for a drink, stood in queue for 15 mins, to be told "only 2 drinks per visit to the bar", At this point I hit the roof, as my wife or grand-daughter have never needed to stand at a bar to be served. I realise this is not a staff rule, but surely management are needing to revisit this issue.
Will definitely never be back to these apartments, and recommend you look elsewhere too!
P.S. Forgot to mention cleaner twice a week, just not enough. Robbie and Margaret with Roslyn

Just back from Las Piramides on 13 February 2013. Went all inclusive. What a waste of money. The first thing I have to say is that normally I read trip advisor comments and then make my own mind up. I'm very open minded and usually find that some people have nothing better to do but moan about their holidays. This time I have found that the negative reviews were pretty much correct.

Our room was OK, it was spacious and was cleaned 5 times a week. We were lucky that we had a room overlooking the courtyard in the centre of the hotel and therefore noise was lessened. The sun hit the room about 9.30 am and was on there most of the day. If you are unlucky enough to get a room with no sun, which there were plenty of, it would be very cold.

Ladies beware - take your own hairdryer. None were supplied in the hotel.

The TV is pay to view. If you had kids with you wanting to watch cartoons it could work out very expensive as it cost one euro for less than an hour.

The food was the same day in day out. They used cheap cuts of meat and we were treated to fish fingers, chicken nuggets and calamari with chips every day. The rice and pasta dishes were identical every day. The soup which was supposed to be vegetable had whole sprouts in it. Obviously they had just use the left overs from lunch, put some stock in with them and voila ...... vegetable soup.

The drinks were all local, no choice of premium drinks. The drinks were served in either plastic or paper cups. At dinner we actually managed to get a glass of wine one night but when my husband went for a second he was given wine in a pint glass. Coffee and tea were also served in plastic cups except for in the restaurant where we were given cups.

The bar was far too small for the size of the hotel, there were kids running round screaming and drunken parents staggering all over the place. The "entertainment" consisted of a mini disco for the kids, animal shows (snakes, birds etc) which were advertising local attractions, bingo, and more mini disco!!!!

The pool was a reasonable size but the area surrounding the pool was small. If you wanted a sunbed or even a chair you had to be up at the crack of dawn and by lunchtime with drinks flowing all morning you didn't want to be there in the afternoon.

We booked this hotel as being a four star, no chance. To my mind it was lucky if it got three!

Would suggest anyone looking to book this hotel goes self catering. The facilities aren't brilliant but adequate. Not only that but there are loads of reasonable eating places nearby. You can get a good english breakfast for 3 euros and a decent meal at night for under 10. The drinks in the bars are reasonable. At least in the outside bars and restaurants you got a smile from the staff which is more than can be said for the hotel staff. They were a real miserable bunch.

Room Tip: We had room 1112 which was quite a suntrap up til mid afternoon. If you go in summer it may be bett...

Went there on 24/01/2013,stayed for a week and found the hotel to be of good overall quality. We were on the top floor with a courtyard view, which was not perfect but realised that we got the afternoon sun and could actually tan on the balcony. The room was spacey very clean and the cleaning staff really friendly and helpfull. They came in daily to clean the room and change towels.

The food was the best we had so far with a good variety of choice.,The service was also of very high standard with their ever present manager to assure smooth running of the hotel.I,ve read some of the reviews and realised some people are never satisfied with what they get for the price they paid. Just got back 14th Feb 2013 after one week all inc at the Piramides,we were a little concerned after reading some reviews but this place is allright.Firstly a mention to Katrina and the girls behind the bar, they dont stop working from morning till night in fact all the staff were the most hard working bunch you will come across. You have to remember this is not the Costa Adeje Gran were we stayed in January but it met our requirements and would return for a low cost all inc break.Room had pool/sea view, food always something to take your fancy,ok entertainment a bit duff in the evenings but hey look at the price, well done to all the staff .

Room Tip: second ,third floor more chance of sea view
