Las Piramides
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We're a young couple from Dublin and we had an amazing time in Las Piramides. Food was lovely, actually too nice(I've put on a half stone in 10days!!!)and always great selection. Don't listen to bad reviews as some people expect Hilton standard paying little nothing! Staff was very friendly (thanks to Pepe and all the rest...). We stayed in room 1353. It was basic, but good enough(we didn't spend much time in the room anyway).Try Joe's special in the bar...Location of Las Piramides is perfect. Close to the beach, bars, nightlife...Tenerife is also cheaper then the rest of Canary Islands and has much more attractions for young people(we didn't expect it to be so busy in October).Overall we had an amazing time and will be going back to Las Piramides next year...

Stayed at Las Piramides late October, family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children aged btwn 3 - 10). The price we paid for the hotel was exceptional given the great holiday we had (£740 for 6 nights AI in Oct half term!). We go abroad as a family 2 or 3 times a year and as a couple 4 or 5 times a year so have experienced a lot of resorts and hotels which hopefully gives this review some context. We had a large, clean, well furnished 2 bed apartment looking out onto the two pools at the rear of the hotel. Maids came daily to clean the apartment / change towels etc. No air con but we hired a fan and managed ok. The beds were big and very comfortable. The two swimming pools were great - sun loungers available, not too busy and the kids loved it. Smaller pool for yonger children and a bigger one for older kids and adults. There is also a pool bar there - never any queues and really friendly staff! The larger, main pool was used mainly by younger guests or couples without children. We stayed AI and the food was excellent, loads of choice and good quality. The restauraunt area was also very good - extremely spacious with an outside dining area too. The staff were friendly, courteous and caring. In particular, Pepe the manager made us feel really welcome and seemed to take a genuine interest in all of his guests. Our children also really enjoyed the kid's club which ran for an hour each day. Not much happening in the hotel at night, and the bar area in the evenings had a bit of a dull atmosphere, but this didn't bother us as the kids were tired from swimming all day and went to bed early(!) Given the location of the hotel, it is easy to find nightlife if desired. We didn't see any of the loutish behaviour described in other reports. Guests were predominantly families and older couples. As we were there during half term week the higher prices may have accounted for the lack of stag parties etc but the impression we got was that the hotel was quite peaceful out of season. Peak season may be different though. We are certainly going to return to the hotel outside of the summer season. In summary: Food, drinks, accomodation, staff, pool area - all excellent. Minor negatives: no air con in rooms, lack of entertainment in the hotel at night.

This hotel is a good base right in the centre of everything you can walk to everywere from here, you get what you pay for very basic, the food is the usual for any all inclusive, not good but not bad either you can`t complain, staff friendly there was no entertainment in the evening and the all incl bar ended at 11 am you have to buy drinks after this time. We heard a few people on the lower floors complain about cockroaches but we were above them and never had a problem at all. The pool is nice and clean and a good size you have to queue up at 9 am to get in and the sun beds fill up straight away so if you dont queue you dont get one but it was the main week and the hotel was full, rooms are basic and they dont have aircon but you can hire units in reasonably cheep, dont hire a fan all they do is push the hot air around the room, all in all ok for the price we paid.

Room Tip: make sure you are not on the bottom floor (cockroaches)

Hotel stuck in mid-80's decorwise, servicewise...and defo holidaymakerswise. location is great!!! a short walk from all the main beaches and all the hot spots of the nightlife. up the hill a bit but does good for that essential 5 sec morning exercise when you are on holiday, haha.

every room has a balcony and those facing the pool have no sun in the morning peeking in which is a bonus if you are having a lay in.

a shot within the hotel will always provide with the essential yogurt if you have burnt yourself or tonic for that gin you must have in your room in a fridge.

room was well kept and tidy, however, sometimes the cleaners managed a super sweep in the time you probably haven't reached the reception in the lift. mind you there's only 3 floors.

for two girls out to have fun you don't need much more. families, might be a bit dull as theres no evening entertainment on the premises, couples sure will find something to occupy their time with.

Me & my boyfriend stayed here in August 2012 after reading the reviews and were very pleasantly surprised. We were all inclusive, staying on the second floor with the courtyard view. The hotel at the time we stayed was busy and we never had any problems sleeping, despite hearing people (reviews) saying to avoid the courtyard rooms.

The room is basic, but clean and was about what was expected. Twin beds, but no problem to push them together. Rooms are very hot, but we rented one of the air conditioning units, which was well worth it, and the safe is built into the wardrobe which made us comfortable with security.

Couldn't complain at all about the staff here, reception, bar staff, and waiters in the dining hall were all really good, friendly and helpful. The hotel also put on entertainment through the week like Lizards coming in, Parrots, and an Eagle. There were things going on every evening and people would gather around in a nice atmosphere around the pool, having drinks whilst these people would encourage you to hold the animals/have pictures taken with them.

The food had a similar theme each night, but there's plenty of places nearby to eat if you fancy a change. We ate in the dining room every day at least one meal, and we spent a few evenings out for food. Drinks were nice, and it wasn't a problem to get 2 at a time.

A great thing for us was the convenience of the location. Not very far from restaurants, Veronica's bars, the beach/promenade, the water parks, and the free bus stops to Siam Park and to 'Loro Parque'.

We didn't have any problems with cockroaches. There was the odd one or 2 around the pool only at night, but in Spain this is expected, just as they are also running around the streets, if you don't like them, don't go to Spain, not just this Hotel - you'll get them anywhere you go.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel, and would be more than happy to go here again for the good price, location and staff.
