Just returned from the las palmeras today 14.11.2012. After reading some of the reviews before we went was a lttle worried. But for us it was great. CHECK IN went very smooth, we were in our room within 10 minutes. ROOM was very clean. Yes you had to pay to use the safe but most hotels do this.FOOD now I'm a fussy eater but I was having 3 corses and was always sattisfied.yes sometimes there was quite a few people in the dining room but there are a lot of people staying there, we never had a problem getting a table or served.BARS.always were served if we wanted a cocktail or short with a smile and laugh.STAFF everyone spoke to us with a smile. Yes in parts needed to be updated. But in general a very good hotel. Cannot comment on entertainment as we went out in the evening. PS only giving sleep quality average as the beds were very hard and 2 singles not a double.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view.

Just come back from a weeks stay at this hotel, could not find anything to fault,
The weather was a little cloudy some of the time but it was never to cold go into the swimming pools,
the smaller one is heated and quite warm,both pools and the surrounding area are cleaned every morning,the pool bar serves drinks, snacks and ice cream all day.
Rooms were cleaned every morning towels changed ever day.
The food was fantastick and always served hot,there was a brill sweet bar for the kids(saw one boy with at least ten in each pocket)
We went all inc and could not fault it and hope to be going back again in march

Room Tip: Rooms with an even number overlook the pool and sea.

Staying at the hotel at the moment
Location is fab. Food is good for all inclusive. Self service on a wines and beers is a good thing and nothing to moan about as per previous reviews. No free for all at dinner as previously moaned about by other reviewers. Other nationalities somewhat different in their approach to queuing but is is the hotels fault? Hotel doing their best to stop sunbed hogging but I imagine is quite difficult. Reception desk bit frosty but bar staff fabulous are making us feel really welcome. Entertainment good. We requested a room change as a bar underneath our room is quite noisy and we have a 19month old baby. No availability at the time but not been a problem since. Overall a nice experience.

We stayed at H10 Las Palmeras for 9 nights from 21st October. We were a party of 4 including child of 10 and grandparent of 70+ and this hotel catered for us all. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a family suite on the top floor (9th) which gave us 2 separate bedrooms and a large living area. We hired a fridge for the duration which was 18 Euros including the cost of 6 bottles of water, so not an unreasonable price. The main benefit of the suite is the huge balcony which comes with 4 sunbeds, table and 4 chairs and amazing seaviews over to the island of Gomera. The balcony also gave us a great view of the "towel race" every morning - There are enough beds for everyone but maybe people just wanted the exercise. Frustratingly a lot of the people that raced down to claim their beds then went out for most of the day.

Foodwise there was always a great selection, 2 of our party are quite fussy but they always found something they liked, especially in the dessert section. The cooking stations always offered a good variety of fresh fish and meat. We ate in the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner but tended to just have snacks from the pool bar for lunch, where they offered everything from pizza, burgers, sandwiches and paella. We didnt eat in the Italian as we were perfectly happy with the main restaurant. The only thing that I would change is that it would be nice to be served your drinks to the table rather than queing at the tea and coffee machines each morning. The all inclusive drinks package is brilliant and includes international brands (Smirnoff, Grey Goose etc) as well as cocktails from the main bar areas as well as self service for beer, wine and sangria - you really will not thirsty!

We found all of the staff at this hotel very welcoming and friendly, from the reception staff to the bar staff and especially the entertainment team. Lucia, Ydres and Vicente do a great job in trying to ensure that everyone has a good time - of course if you dont want to join in, you dont have to but they are always on hand to help you make the most of your holiday. There is a childrens club (mini club) which does cater more for younger children and it would be good if there was something similar for slightly older children, although there is a games room with a couple of arcade games and pool tables. The evening entertainment will not suit everybody but over the course of our holiday we saw some good acts the best of which was probably African Footprints an amazing group of African acrobats.

Overall we all had a fantastic holiday and I will definitely recommend the H10 Las Palmeras to anyone looking for a good quality hotel, in a great location with lovely, friendly staff.

We just got back from a two week trip in Spain that included Tenerife, and I'd advise you to steer clear of the H10 Las Palmeras.
The property itself isn't too bad, but it doesn't exude the kind of ambiance a four--star hotel should - the front entrance is lined with cheap discount shops, and there's signs of wear and tear in the hotel.

CONS:

1. Absolutely no service with a smile: We waited for over 30 minutes at the front desk trying to check in. No one even looked in our direction, or asked us to have a seat in the lobby while they tended to other guests. This trend of non-existent service continued for the two days we were there.

2. Nickel-and-diming: We had to pay a ten euro deposit to use the safe in our room, and another ten-euro deposit to get a remote for our TV. Are you serious??? How does this hotel claim to be a four-star???

3. Room AC: I don't know what the AC controls on the wall are connected to, but it certainly isn't the central air-conditioning vents. You've got no control on how cold or warm your room's going to be, so hope for the best.


PROS:
It's centrally located and very close to the beach which has some nice tapas bars and cafes, so I guess that's a plus. And the breakfast isn't half bad.
