“Amazing Hotel.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

My Girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel in July this year for our first holiday together. Neither us or our fellow guests could believe that this hotel hasn't received a 4* rating. The staff were very friendly and very helpful right from the minute we walked in the hotel to the minute we walked out. The hotel itself and the rooms were exceptional, and were cleaned to a high standard every day. The hotel is in a great location for all local amenities with the beach, bars restaurants and excursions all very close by. The pool is very clean and was never too busy or too quiet, with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The food and service received at meal times was amazing, all staff were very polite and helpful, in particular the two gentlemen that welcomed us in and Alba. The three singers at evening meal provided an excellent touch. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future, as it helped to create an amazing holiday.

Room Tip: Pool View, we stayed in a low room as my girlfriend has a tendency to sleep walk, however high rooms...

On the 8th floor, room overlooking pool. Good size room but had twin beds (had sent an email to hotel to ask for a pool view with double bed, one out of two isnt too bad). Room was cleaned daily, towels changed daily. Hairdryer supplied. Aircon supplied with a returnable deposit. Beds were very hard and pillows as flat as pancakes. Good choice of food, we did half board and only once had a lunchtime snack elsewhere. Didn't sunbathe around the pool, not because it wasn't a pleasant pool area, it was. just we like to wander around.

You pay for what you get, it was ok

Stayed here for 10 nights in July 2013, and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were a good size and they were cleaned daily. We were on the first floor.
The pool area was clean. Umbrellas are available to use when it gets hot during the day. The swimming pool was big enough, we spent quite a few days there when we didn't want to go to the beach. The beach however is quite a far walking distance, depending on how fast you walk.
The food was average, we managed to find something we liked to eat each night. Same for breakfast, although there could be more dessert options such as cakes etc... The desserts didn't seem to change.
We went out most nights so we didn't see any of the entertainment in the bar.
Free Wi-Fi was available to use, but only in the main reception. There are also 2 computers available to use. (we used them quite often)

Altogether we enjoyed our time in Tenerife and this hotel was a good choice for our first time in playa de las americas.

Room Tip: pool view rooms are best.

Having read the reviews before I went to this hotel I was looking forward to staying in a should be "5" star hotel. I was so disappointed. Arrived on the Saturday night and was first of all given two rooms on the 2nd floor, one overlooking the back of the hotel with no view and the other overlooking the main road. You couldn't swing a cat in either of them. The rooms were very clean but the bed covers had cigarette burns in them. I complained about the rooms straight away and was told nothing could be done until Monday. True to their word we were moved to the 4th floor with pool views and much bigger rooms. Couldn't believe the difference. I must say the reception staff were very helpful and understanding.

The food was very repetitive and not very hot. The sweet choice was non existent. Ice cream or ice cream. They had very few tables set for a family of four which was really annoying. I didn't find the staff friendly apart from the odd one here and there in the restaurant.

I was glad I wasn't staying all inclusive as the entertainment at night was poor. All they seemed to do was play crazy games.

The best thing about this hotel was the pool and the sun terrace area. You could go down at ten in the morning and get sunbeds with umbrellas no problem. Pool was very clean as was the area around it. The only thing missing was a bit of music around the pool throughout the day.

Unfortunately I won't be going back to this hotel in the near future. I was there with two teenagers and there just wasn't enough to keep them entertained.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor. At least if you don't get a pool view you might at least see the mountai...

Stayed here from 13 to 20 July. We were on the third floor. Never heard a thing or saw anybody in corridor all week. Although it was overlooking main road the noise wasn't bad.food could have been better.. Bacon was cremated most days, and fried potatoes were hard as rocks.. Saying that we always managed to find something to eat.bottle of house wine not bad at €5.30(I think) a bottle, and could be put in fridge if you couldnd drink in one go.. The staff were very efficient, and we're always smartly dressed..the " bingo" was a farce! Good job it was free, cos the caller wasn't very clear, and kept jumbling the languages up, so after 2 nights we gave up... The prize was only a t shirt... The entertainment was dire ( and that's being polite). The flamenco night singers sounded as if they were being strangled, there was a magic show, which was quite good, but "due to a slight complication" it didn't start till after 10.30pm..Not much seating in reception, so if there were a few people waiting to go home at same time there were bags and people all over the floor...

Just back from 2 weeks at this hotel and these are my thought.

The hotel itself was a standard 3 star hotel. It was clean and tidy and the rooms were a good size with 2 large beds and plenty of storage, TV, balcony, aircon and ceiling fan. The bathroom was quite large, clean and tidy but it was a little tired looking in places. The pool area was very clean had a limited number of sun beds around it. There was a separate large patio area for sunbathing with beds & umbrellas but there were just not enough umbrellas or beds to cater for the amount of guests and considering the heat you would not want to spend all day sunbathing without the respite of shade. The Sun beds & Parasols around the pool area were not unlocked by staff until 10am this was to deter people from putting their towels on early in the morning and going out for the rest of the day. Did it work, not really. There was an outside snack bar but this was never opened during our stay. The pool was a large square and very clean. Our balcony overlooked the pool are which was nice during the day but once the entertainment started relaxing on the balcony wasn’t an option as it was so load.

The entertainment each evening was standard which we opted to give a miss. The pool bar area was ok but the service was very slow there never seemed to be enough staff on duty and food wasn’t served until late morning/early afternoon. The reception staff when we arrived were very helpful and friendly and answered all our questions. Wi-Fi is only available in the main reception area but was very slow and we gave up most evenings.

The food at this hotel was given 4* on tripadvisor and I am still trying to work out why. The restaurant was very busy and chaotic at times and waiting to order dinner drinks could take quite a while if at all as there was only normally 2 waitresses taking drink orders and also clearing tables to enable more guests to be seated. The food itself left a lot to be desired as it was virtually the same every night. At dinner there was a live grill which would cook 2 items (Fish & Meat) this was repeated roughly every three days, Pizza which only ever consisted of 2 types (Tuna or Plain) also a roast joint which was beef, pork or chicken (you really don’t want to eat the beef as I have a healthy set of teeth and couldn’t chew it at all. Then there were the usual buffet items, various salads, crackers, cheese and hot choices of meat and fish (which again were repeated very often) and vegetables. The deserts consisted of jelly, blancmange, and a hot kind of custard, ice cream, yoghurts and tined fruits and this was the same every single night the only change they made was that the jelly and blancmange was a different colour. There was limited fresh fruit available which consisted of Apples, oranges and bananas.

I would definitely go back to Tenerife but not this hotel due to the lack of imagination with the food and it was too far from the beach for me, at least 20 minutes’ walk on a slight incline on the way back which made the going even slower.

The playa Vista beach is definitely the best beach to go to, its a wide bay with lovely soft sand with the mountains once side and plenty of sun beds are available. The beach is backed by lots of nice restaurants you can have a meal or drink at overlooking the beautiful sea. Hire of beds and umbrellas cost 4 Euros each. The centre of Playa Las Americas itself has a lot to offer with places to eat out for everyone’s taste. The Safari Centre is a great place to have a special meal but can be a little pricey.

Room Tip: Difficult a blocks are in a square around the pool I would definitly choose a higher floor

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

We travelled to Tenerife in July 2013 for a week and really loved our whole experience. For a budget holiday (£378 flights, transfers and half board accommodation) we completely loved the whole trip.
We had 2 rooms: one with 3 people, the other with 2 people. The rooms were spacious and completely spotless - cleaned every day with fresh towels and sheets. The only complaint I have is that there is no fridge in the room and the water in the tap doesn't run completely cold so we couldn't even make a cold sink of water to keep drinks cool. However there is air con so the room is always nice and cool.
The hotel was close enough to the airport, with the transfer taking just under an hour.
The food in the hotel was brilliant - we had one vegetarian and one fussy eater in our group and had no problems at all. Breakfast consisted of a great selection of cold food (yoghurt, fruit etc), pastries (criossants etc) and hot food (beans, eggs, bacon etc) and omelettes made freshly in front of you.
The dinner was also really good - a fantastic salad selection, cheeses, pizza everyday, normally some form of roast meat such as turkey, beef or pork. There were also loads of vegetables and often a vegetarian option such as spinach cannaloni. VERY impressed with the food.
The drinks available were very reasonably priced (cocktails 5euros, bottle of wine 5.50euros, large lager 1.60euros) and of a good quality. Again the lack of fridge in the room was a problem if you didn't finish your bottle of wine but we just made sure we drank it before we left the bar!
The entertainment was... interesting. In the day it pretty good, with water polo and aerobics every day. In the evening it got a little more strange! We sat through some interesting acrobatics, a music quiz and a very strange "Mr Oro Negra". It wasn't particularly directed at children but there were very few children at the hotel due to the time of year so this may have been the reason why.
The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the beach, where you have to pay around 5euros for a sunbed and the sand is VERY hot - burning hot! But the poolside area is fantastic, plenty of sunbeds and the staff are more than happy to help, they can't do enough for you. The pool is lovely, quite cold at first but not bad at all. Really clean and not too busy, really great pool.
Tenerife in general was fantastic. Brilliant weather - 30degrees heat most days. There is a shop around the corner with most amenities - drinks, snacks, ice creams etc but it is a little more expensive than the supermarket about 10 minutes walk away.
The Veronicas strip was really great fun for clubbing. As five 21 year old girls we found the atmosphere entirely safe and friendly. Drinks are really cheap, but definitely watered down. Prepare to be hassled on the strip in the evening, people will try and get you into the clubs but just barter for more drinks and you'll be fine, don't be scared to asked for an extra drink or extra shots!
There were also plenty of restaurants nearby, the food was very similar - pizza, pasta, chicken and salads. Very much the same but often a good price and great quality.

Overall, a fantastic holiday in an amazing location - couldn't have asked for a better hotel, I was incredibly pleased with the whole experience. The hotel is placed perfectly - go left for the strip and right for the hotels. The beach can be accessed in either directions.
Really recommended - go to Tenerife, go to Playa de las Americas and definitely consider this hotel - it's fantastic.
