“You get what you pay for”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

I found Laguna Park II to be a great little place to stay for the price. In general the staff were very good and polite, just one rude person behind the check in desk. Our room was large and the standard of cleaning was above average. Stayed all inclusive and found the food in the restaurant to be to a good standard, but the choice of snacks during the day was pathetic. Stale sandwhiches and cake. Range of drinks available in the bar was fair with beer wine and spirits all available along with a cocktail of the day. The hills around are not at all as bad as I have read in some of the reviews although i wouldnt suggest it to the disabled or elderly. The pool was clean and nice and cool. There were good sporting facilities available including table tennis, basketball, french bowls, darts, and pool. Unfortunately they were well worn and we had to pay for them even though we were staying all inclusive.
All in all you get what you pay for. At £330 pp for a weeks all inclusive I cant have any complaints. The hotel is situated well within walking distance of the beach and water park which also has a dolphin pool. Veronicas strip is a little further away but no more than a 20-25 minute walk.
Would definitely return here for a cheap, quick break in the sunshine.

Dear Guest

Thank you for your feedback on TripAdvisor.

We're delighted to announce that we now offer a courtesy bus to the beach so now you don't even have to spend money on taxis. Our bus will take you to the beach and bring you back again although if you really want to burn off those big breakfasts you can always walk down and we'll pick you up again at the end of a hard day sunbathing!

The Laguna Park 2 team looks forward to welcoming you back again very soon,

Kind regards

After reading the reviews we were a little worried as to where we were going to be staying, but it isn't that bad to be honest. We paid very little for a 3 day stay, so we were quite prepared to get what we paid for. It's about a 20-30 min walk downhill to the beach front, and you pass a few Irish bars and restaurants on the way. It's only 3 euros uphill back in a taxi.
Around the complex is many steps and a steep hill from the pool back to the rooms, so we wouldn't recommend it to the unfit or disabled, especially in the heat.
Rooms are very basic, no air con, no hairdryer, but cleanish, although we did have ants in our bread, so keep 'everything' in the fridge.
Gents on reception a little rude, cheap hotel shop, lots of activities, entertainment bar.
Cold pool, you have to pay for sunbed mattress/brolly/ and t.v.
Would probably go again, but couldn't stand a week there.!!

Room Tip: Ask for one near the pool area, so you're not having to keep walking up the hill back to your ro...

Laguna park 2 isn't awful, but it isn't great either.. Room very basic, whole hotel needs a bit of TLC as looks very tired and run down. Apartments were cleaned regularly but cleaners could be forgetful and not leave towels etc. staff were rude (most of them) got ignored a few times as had issues with our room and they couldn't be bothered to sort it out. Our apartment was located on row H (down the bottom) and there was loads of stray cats there and couldn't even sit and chill on the balcony because the whole place stunk of cat poo. Had to walk up 101 steps just to get to reception and exit to the hotel. Wouldn't stay hear again.

Good points - Clean and tidy, rooms cleaned regualy. Night entertainment very good, espeically the magicians. 10 minute walk down to bars and restuarents (just mind its all uphill coming back) Bad points - Whole complex is situated on a hill, didn't matter to me, but eldery may not like this. Pool was very cold( though l went in February ).I was self catering so cannot comment on food, but poolside burgers and pizzas we bought were very nice. Overall a decent hotel.

Room Tip: If you ask for a poolside apartment , just remember you wont have a view and are mainly in the shade...

I booked Laguna Park II on the Costa Adeje as part of a sun-sand-and-sea holiday for early March from the UK, and I wasn't disappointed.

The hotel itself sprawls over the side of a hill, as other reviewers have mentioned - and yes, you do need to like walking hills to appreciate this hotel! It is also about ten minutes from the shops (though they have their own little supermarket with prettty decent prices for all the basics), 15 or so from the sea, but by the end of my week there, I got fairly tired of walking that hill to and fro! Taxis are available, and a free bus, but the bus runs about once an hour between 10 and 2pm, basically, and after 5:30pm you're on your own.

Reception, and staff generally, are polite and friendly, and try to be helpful where they can. It is a basic apartment type place, though, and the rooms are also basic - 2 beds, a bathroom and a small kitchen. You need your own kettle, and the bathroom only comes with towels, bathmat and toilet paper, so you need to bring your own washing & grooming kit. The rooms which face down have a front sliding door straight onto the walkway, and the walls are pretty thin, so privacy is something you have to think about!

The restaurant and pool are at the bottom of the hillside, and I was surprised and pleased to find that the extended pool was seawater, not chlorinated, which made a nice change.

The restaurant does a decent if basic breakfast, with a great view of the surrounding area from that height. But they don't cater for vegetarians, and I ended up climbing that hill to the nearest restaurants at San Eugenio (about ten minutes) every evening, or staying down on the beach and then climbing back up around 9pm. It was do-able, but not much fun.

In eartly March it was quiet, which was nice. The pool area is basic, a courtyard with a bar, a nice extended pool as I mentioned, but the sunbeds are hard ribbed plastic (take your own towel), and while they have plastic sunbed pads, at 2 euros to rent, no-one did. There are a couple of tennis courts, and even a football area, not getting much use when I as there (and an odd little sandpit area which was great for doing yoga in!). OK for the odd day, but probably not sufficiently entertaining for a week or more.

Evening entertainment consisted of one main bar (with an adjoining computer game and pool table area) which seemed to be doing a children's evening karaoke/dance each night - fun, but pretty limited for adults unless you were a doting parent.

if you are happy to organise yourself, Laguna II is a decent base, as it has all the amenities you need, and for active healthy visitors gives you good exercise at the same time!

Yes, I would be happy to stay there again. But if I could find another place closer to town and the beach, though (Like Laguna Park One), then I probably would.

Room Tip: Go for midway down, so you can reach Reception and the restaurant/pool equally easily. Use the ramp...

We booked this hotel for a last minute holiday, me my husband and our 2 children (7 +3) the hotel is situated up a big hill. As u walk into reception you have to walk down a steep hill to get to your rooms. The reception and evening disco sre at the top of the hill and the pool and restaurant are at the bottom. The hotel offers all inclusive and self catering. I think it should just operate one or the other as it was not properly explained wot was free and what you pay for. The food in the restaurant was very poor quality and very repetative. I'm not fussy and am normally easily pleased but I was very dissapointed. The best points of this hotel wss the pools they were big n lovely, also the hotel is opposite the waterpark, which was a brill day out.
