“Third visit to this resort ...”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

This is my third visit to the Mare Nostrum resort in 3 years, I have stayed at the Mediterranean Palace hotel twice and it's sister hotel the Cleopatra once. I choose this hotel because of the location because I love the beach. I don't use the swimming pool at the hotel but I did use the hairdressers this time and it was a good experience. The hotel bedrooms are becoming a bit dated and the only criticism is that it was my third visit and there is no recognition or personal touch. I always ask for a quiet room because of outside noise but I never get it. I thought there might be some loyalty for returning guests. If you like a large anonymous hotel it's great and the location is wonderful. The area around the hotel is wonderful with loads of shops and restaurants, you can never get bored with things to do. The evening sunset by the beach is out of this world.

have just returned from 9 fab days at the med palace. this was a lovely hotel, great service and beautiful pool, not to mention the buffet breakfast, with champs or course, really divine and all you could imagine. room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bed changed every other. yes the rooms are a little dated but the hotel and staff itself go out of their way to please you. i have stayed in las americas several times before but by far this hotel was one of the best. only did B&B as it is so cheap to eat everywhere and much more fun to go out for drinks and food. there are ample sunbeds, towel hire, water activities and much more. could not fault it and would love to return again on my next visit. i went child free this time but if i had taken my little one then the kids club and facilities are brilliant. .. go on give it a try :)

Room Tip: always book a pool view room

Great hotel.... Large hotel..... Massive pool area with lots of beds... Very impressive, central to shops / bars / restaurants/ beach.. etc breakfast was lovely, lots of choice... Champagne on demands! Would definitely come back. (forgot about the champagne on arrival!) silly me...

Room Tip: A quite 'posh' part of Los cristianos (I think) and was ripped off at one of the main bars o...

We travelled to the Mrditerranean Palace at the end of January for a much needed holiday. The hotel is lovely except the rooms are slightly dated and in need of a refurbishment. The food and service is exceptional. Getting a room on the 6th floor if you have a mountain view room is advisable to avoid the noise of an evening from the Americas Plaza over the road.

The hotel is close to the beach and is ideal for walking through to Los Christianos or Costa Adeje.

There are plenty of local restaurants and entertainment for all people to enjoy. We are returning again in September.

Just returned from a four night stay at the Med Palace. This is our 4th time staying at the hotel and we have stayed B&B and HB. The breakfast is amazing and the buffet dinner is also very good with always a varied selection of food to choice from. I agree that the rooms are a bit dated, however they are clean and fairly inexpensive for a 5 star hotel. The location of the hotel is fantastic with the beach, great restaurants and shops nearby, ticking all the boxes for a family holiday. The daily entertainment offered by the hotel is also excellent (two teenage children) and the entertainment staff are fab including them in all the activities. Remember to join the Expo Club as you will receive Molton Brown products, robe, slippers etc during your stay. Will be returning asap

We have just returned from a week here and to be honest it was the best holiday resort in Europe we have ever had so why only 4 stars there is a reason for this and that is we were there with children from 2 to 13 as well as other families so the last thing we wanted to see was women from 18 to 88 topless to get the all over tan we found this disgusting and embarrassing and not nice for the children to see,so the resort needs to address this problem.
Now about the hotel the rooms here are defo NOT 5 star I'm afraid they are very dated BUT they were very clean and kept well, the kids club was amazing the kids all loved it even our little 2 year old although you will get phone calls over tears etc if aged between 2-4 years you just have to be patient and they will settle remember its your holiday as well.
The food now were cooking it was a fantastic choice perfectly cooked and the service excellent in fact the whole staff attitude was all 5 star from chambermaids to reception and management first class.
I highly recommend this resort to anyone it is by far the best European holiday in many years and we are returning in October so watch out mare kids we will be back.

Having just returned from two weeks at the Med Palace , our experience as a couple was good. The upgraded room which was offered on arrival at over 200 euros was very pleasant with a magnificent panoramic sea view. Since our last visit there six years ago, there have been changes, perhaps reflecting the current economic climate. the Tapas Bar on the way through to Cleopatras Palace was closed, We had been looking forward to stopping off there, even for a coffee. There were only two restaurants open in the complex , whereas previously there had been a variety of themed restaurants offering waiter service which we had used many times , due to my disability. This year we found the Med Palace restaurant too busy for our circumstances and had our evening meal the second week at Cleopatras Palace restaurant at a supplement of 16 euros per couple per meal. Although still self service this restaurant was much quieter, smaller yet better staffed, with 3 happy chefs on duty , cooking for you fresh food, which was delightful.
Before we left a large notice appeared at the Med. Palace restaurant with a list of all the other restaurants which suggests they may well be available after we left on 3rd June. Just a pity all the facilities were not available- it is a lovely resort.
With such a choice of places to eat out in Las Americas and Los Cristianos , we hope to return next year to Paloma Beach in Los Cristianos where we spent a wonderful holiday last year in a l ovely self catering flat in a very well maintained complex ,but it was unfortunately fully booked for the period we were looking.

Room Tip: If you have a wheelchair/scooter standard rooms are tight, Corner suites are better
