“THE BEST CHEESECAKE ON THE ISLAND”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

Just started reviewing on tripadvisor and it has been over a year since our last visit but I see the high standard we experienced on our numerous visits over the past couple of years has been maintained.
The sandwiches(triple decker) were really fresh and tasty (cracking chips too)
and the homemade cheesecake was to die for.
We were always greeted as long lost friends every time we arrived that so much so the chap who worked in the cafe thought we should retire over there and offered to help us get a long term let.
We always sat outside(mad dogs and Scotsmen)with our wine and Magners and usually spent a few hours watching the world go by.
It is a little bit off the front up a slight incline but I suggest that if you are stopped with the boss in his big sun hat that you take up his offer of home baking from heaven(that is if he is not away on one of his fishing trips)
Hope to see you again in November.

“Awesome cakes and lovely people”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

My Husband and I tend to walk a lot on holiday and on one of our walks a nice English chap guaranteed a proper cuppa. We decided to try it out and weren't disappointed. The chocolate cake was great and the Victoria sponge was light and fluffy. We have returned a few times and everything we've tried has been superb. To top it off they are really nice, friendly people and there is a nice view over the sea. Each time we go to Tenerife, we make a point of stopping in for our holiday cakes :)

if you're looking for a real english cup of tea, home cooked cakes or just a really good meal you can't do much better than this. Visit each time we come to P de las Americas. o.k. so it's not the cheapest, but what a lovely little place to find. The best breakfast I had, all week!

“A little bit of England”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We don't usually search out British establishments when abroad but as we were acosted by a nice old chap everytime we walked by the street end, we decided to try it. On the first visit I had Earl Grey tea served as it should be; the service was quick and friendly. The second visit was in stark contrast. We were short on time for the trip back to the airport and thought a cup of tea, a sausage roll to eat in and two baguettes to go would be good. We were sat ages before our order was taken, the tea was served without milk nor the sausage roll. When it finally arrived we had been there for 25 minutes and still no baguettes. After giving them the 'hurry up', the baguettes arrived and were abruptly dumped on the table. They must have deduced we were unlikely to be return customers.......

Hi James,
My staff and I do care about you as we do all our customers as evident by your comments about your first visit. I am the nice old man who accosted you and it was me you told about being in a hurry for the airport, to which I responded to immediately. It has always been a policy of mine to give customers time to settle and not to "Pounce" before people have sat down, we try to promote a rapid but relaxed atmosphere,if you were in a hurry I wish you would have told us and I like to think our staff would have done their best to expedite you more quickly. With regard to milk in Earl Gray, I personally drink it without and the first time I saw my waitress taking milk out with Earl Grey I thought "uck!", but everyone has their own taste and was informed that several people do take it with milk, one of my waitresses always take milk with this order and as a result of your posting it is now a directive that all Earl Grey orders are supplied with milk. I understand that as a result of my Hurry Uping my lady chef took the "take-away" order direct to your table rather than via a waitress (to save time), despite being a very nice person and good in the kitchen I know she is heavy handed and consequently your order may have appeared to have been "Abruptly dumped" which I can assure you is not the case (Incidentally she has been reprimanded over her manner if she comes outside the kitchen in future) and knowing the circumstances profusely and unreservedly apologize and I hope you will return with no ill feelings ..............David
