La Siesta Hotel

Good location, nice garden with plenty of sunbeds. The service in the restaurant is excellent. !! The cleaning of the rooms could be better - very small ants running around in the bathroom and they do not clean behind the door . We stayed in this hotel for 16 days. No WIFi in the rooms unless you buy for it. The fridge is only for rent and so is the safety box.

Good location and lovely Hotel. Food ok. Nice soups and salads. Themed evenings. Restaurant staff worked hard but short staffed. Lack of teaspoons. Had to use dessert spoons for tea and coffee. Sometimes no soup bowls. Had to use cereal bowls.
The only problem we found was IS YOUR SAFE (safe)? No.
We put our money and valuables in safe. At the end of 2nd week the safe suddenly wouldn't work. A lady came up from reception, entered a code and it opened. How many people know this code?
After this the next 2 days two different members of staff came to our room for no valid reason, The first one a lady in red came in and lifted a cushion on the settee. The room hadn't been done so she couldn't be checking anything. The day after the room had been done and there was a knock at the door. It was the maid . She hadn't got a cleaning truck with her.. She also lifted a cushion on the settee. We were a bit concerned now so went to reception to report this. All of a sudden the lady did not understand us. I had to show her a settee in reception to point out was had happened. She said they were checking the settee was clean. Why didn't the maid check it when she did the room and also only check under one cushion.
When we got home we looked on the internet for robberies from locked safes and found one that had happened in may 2013 from this hotel. All the money was taken from the safe.

Nice hotel, good sized rooms with seating area, desk and satellite tv. Lovely, large, outside pool. Indoor spa pool is charged at 15 euro per day per person unless in a Alexandre room (upgrade) and children under 12 not allowed to use spa pool at any time. Food good and always a decent choice, only downside, self-service buffet and sometimes difficult to find a table. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Some ground floor rooms at the back of the hotel have a small garden area with a high wall instead...

We stayed here 10th Dec for a week, Would not go back here or recommend. The room was cleaned everyday but not to a good standard,The breakfast was o.k if you like your food warm, never seemed to be any tea spoons and short staffed. Dinner was even worse and in the end resorted to eating out found a few good places to eat, Dinner here is warm the meat is either over cooked or not cooked enough didnt try the fish which is on every night as it looked like rubber, salad bar o.k very short staffed had to wait for table to be cleared and clean cutlery to be placed before you can order any drinks, we used the hotel bar a few times for coffee, we had to wait for the bar man for some time the coffee was never hot always luke warm. This is NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL at best a good three star.
Pool area was always clean but i never used the pool

Room Tip: book a pool veiw

WE paid extra for an Alexander room overlooking the pool. Our initial room was overlooking the pool and gardens, however was next to Main road and noisy. I called reception and the following morning we were moved to room 306, top floor and central, the best room in the hotel. There was never any rush to get a sun bed, we sat a little back from the actual pool and got a static umbrella. On occasions it was 9.30 before we put our towels down, got the same bed for two weeks. The pool area was cleaned every day and all the sun beds lifted and the entire area extensively washed at least once a week.
Our bedroom was large with a balcony, sheets changed at least 2/3 times a week, however there were occasions the floor was not brushed or washed, but after calling reception it was done within an hour.
Location fantastic, close to sea, shops and night life, but quiet at nights. All the staff were very friendly, especially the reception, nothing was too much problem.
The dining room was spacious with plenty of space between the tables, unfortunately that's where the good news ends! The dining room appeared to be short staffed, they tried their best, but were overwhelmed during busy times. There seemed to be no one in overall charge to check when the food needed replenished, in fact serving areas were left without food until the staff were told. Side plates, spoons, bowls were always missing, people walking around in circles trying to find the necessary utensils to finish their meal. The choice of food was the poorest we have ever seen. Breakfast, bacon swimming In fat had to be dried with napkins before eating. Three tea/coffee units were positioned on only two walls, adjacent to each other which meant depending where your table was, you had a long walk carrying hot drinks dodging children along the way. Dinner, if you can call it that, would honestly take many pages to try and describe how poor it was. Fish you could bend like rubber, chicken you could not chew, turkey that was pink, (not properly cooked) just to mention a few. The pastry, which was obviously purchased from outside caterers was the same tasteless format every single night. We decided enough was enough and we gave the dining room a miss. Thank goodness there were loads of good restaurants within walking distance, made our holiday.
When ordering wine or drinks at the bar we were never asked for our security room card and we could have said any room number if you wanted a cheep holiday!
We asked if we could have a meal in their sister hotel (Gala Hotel) where we have stayed before, only to be told no! The Springs Hotel group in Las Americas allow you to dine in anyone of their three hotels, another disappointment.
I would actually stay in the La Siesta again due to its central position, however only on Bed & Breakfast basis.

Room Tip: Over looking the pool is best

We stayed for one weekhalf board. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style with a wide and varied selection that would suit anyone. Reception staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Daily and evening entertainment was enthusiastic and varied. Our bedroom and the hotel and grounds were spotless. With a handy location for the beach and shopping centres we would definitely consider returning.

Room Tip: upgrade to a club Alex room for a pool view and use of the spa; otherwise all rooms seem the same

We have just stayed at this hotel for 11 nights and this is the third time we have stayed there but never again. The hotel seem to have a policy of overbooking as after arriving there at 8pm we had to then go to another hotel for the first night. This was compensated by "an upgrade to a Superior room " which incidentally was exactly the same as the other rooms" and also the use of the Spa which we used but would rather not have had in the first place!! Our holiday was booked through Easy-jet Holidays. We met 12 ( yes 12 ) other people that this had happened to.As for the Wifi don't pay for it as it is useless.

Room Tip: Our was a "superior Room" but unless you really will use the Spa don't pay the extra c...
