Upon arrival we were greeted with sparkling wine and orange juice, which was very nice touch after sweating on the coach transfer from the Airport...

Got to reception and the receptionist was very competent in dealing with 16 boisterous golfers... If you go to this resort, ask for a high number for your room as this means you would be close to the pool. We were given number 10 which was right at the top of the resort and I've never seen so many stairs in my life and us having cases, golf clubs and hand lugguage we got in a right old state climbing all them stairs... My Dad is nearly 70 and this nearly killed him...A couple of days later after going to golf, coming back to being faced with all the stairs, we found there was a slope that takes you right to the top of the resort which was alot better... The rooms were very clean and tidy and were cleaned every other day... The stairs leading to the downstairs bedroom was a death waiting to happen... If we had children with us, this would be a big concern. the downstairs room was pretty good with a cieling fan which made it just about bearable but no fan upstairs, which made it unbearable, it was more like a sauna You can hire fans and a/c units at reception for a price, the a/c units were 60 euros for the week.
The folding beds were very uncomfortable, lumps in the mattress and they were uneven, after 2 nights I made myself a bed on the balcany with all the cushions. The Tv you had to pay for 20 Euros for the week plus 15 Euros for a deposit, this I thought was a joke as I've never had to play for the use of a tv in all the hotels I've ever stayed in...

We found the pool was a little dirty and a few of the boys had ear infection by the 4th day so, that needed to be sorted. The food was on the whole, very good, although a bit repetitive.

If this hotel made a couple of changes and stop charging for tv and A/C it would be a great hotel but, untill then, I wouldn't recommend it or, go back there...

Rinata if you read this you were great we will always remember you chicachica boom boom olay !!!!!!!

The food is OK - they put on different stuff every night so you should be able to find something. Surprisingly, smoking appears to be allowed on the dining room balcony. The apartment was fine - cleaned frequently - bit of an ant problem but we didn't keep any food there. Staff were 99% friendly - but you'll get grumpy people in any walk of life. A lot of the British holidaymaker contingent were loud, coarse, obnoxious and embarrassing to watch. I am glad I didn't have young kids with me to hear some of the language they used so freely.

Just got back this morning from a great fortnight at the gran oasis resort in tenerife..
Me and my family had a great time from meeting a fantastic bunch of people to bein looked after by the fantastic animation team who made sure we never got bored during the day so special thanks to Bart , Melvin who sorted out the killer darts, killer pool, table tennis and of course the fantastic waterpolo and Renate who was the bingo queen and water aerobics side of it. They all chipped in at night between them to give us a good nights entertainment so thanks alot for helping make our holiday a very enjoyable experience, the only downfall for the hotel was the food I thought it was a bit repetitive after a week or so but my partner and the rest of my family thoroughly enjoyed the food Im just fussy..
If youre looking for a great holiday at a good price with the kids then try it you might like it but remember and read all the hotel details and dont come on here and moan about the steps around the pool and in the apartment or the location as it states all this online and in the brochure!

Hi there,
got back from a weeks holiday to the gran oasis hotel in tenerife, you know what its like first point of call is to look at trip advisor and read the review (skip the bad ones!) and make up a picture in your mind to how your holiday is going to be.
However its more often than not that it never lives up to the dream and this is the case with this resort, dont get me wrong we had a good time but that was only because we where two couples and and we got on really well together.
so lets begin!
The hotel is self is in a very remote area, there is a onsite market (more about that later) but the nearest market is around a 15 min walk away, and not a nice walk either, the check in was fairly slow and then we had to make are way to are appartments which was a fair old trek away and up some very steep step (elderly and disable people do not go near) the appartments them selves we quite spacious and very clean, however there is no air condition and this meant that having a good nights sleep was very difficult you can hire a ac unit for a very reasonable sum of 50 euros! (wish i had of now!) the tv provided only has two channels if you want more its 15e deposit and 21e for a week however even though i paid this amount the tv never worked all week though i did get a refund with no hassel. if you are arriving later in the evening make sure you have somthing to eat at the airport becuase the late night food they put on is very basic and the bar is only inclusive to 11pm.
Breakfast is very good, pleanty of food to choose from, good omelttes and good quality bacon etc, however the coffee is terrible. Lunch is fairly basic salads, chips etc and in the evening they have 3 themed nights per a week, mexican was the best but not amazing and the rest of the night where called international night, which i call leftovers nights, the food is hot and pleanty of it but as with all all inclusive hotels it basically the same food recycled over the week. The bar selection was not bad but the local liqures and spirts just seem to be very weak and the lager very watery and not very strong.
The pool areas are spilt into 3, kids, middle and main pools, they are quite small but there is enough loungers to go around, the entertainment in the day is passible and in the evening its fairly cheesy, the bingo is quite good, although the enterainers make an effort its on a very low budget.
to spend money in the super market you have to preload load your key card with money at reception with cash, this is very annoying and although it has something to do with tracking whats beening spent its just a pain to go to reception, put cash on your card and then go to the supermarket to spend 3euros on a news paper.
Ive gone on a bit too long so ill wrap it up_
poor location
nice appartments
no ac
poor entertainment
ok food

also please go to sian park and lora park these are well worth the money

and dont belive what you read on trip advisor, where not all the same and we all have different opinions.

From the minute we arrived at the Gran Oasis resort we could tell w would be in for a great week. The reception was warm & welcome and we were quickly equipped with our all inclusive bands and our room keys in under 15 minutes (seven of us.) A short five minute trip took us to our appartments in which we got the view the appartments around us and the pool on the way. The appartments are very spacey with up & down stairs. The above consisted of living room with TV and a fully fitted kitchen equipped with oven, hobs, pots, pans & fridge freezer. Below consisted of double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and the WC in prime condition and completely spotless. Then there was the veranda's, there was two available as it was upstairs and downstairs appartments, downstairs was tiled and upstairs had a sort of astro turf feel flooring and table & chairs for relaxing in the sun shine.

The food was magnificent, each night brought a different theme from BBQ night, to Mexican, Italian and Chinese. Breakfast, Lunch Dinner & Dessert available from 8:30am right through to 9:30pm. And pool bar which served as the entertainment section also catered meals available from 11:00am. Light snacks such as hot dogs were on offer as well as ice cream and soft drinks for the kids. All the staff served you with a smile and a thank you.

The entertainment was magnificent also, Again each night brought a different theme of entertainment suck as the snake show, Brazilian show, miss election show. These were all fantastic. During the day there was quite a refreshing aqua aerobics workout on offer by the lovely Rowetta and competitions for killer pool and water polo.

Games room was well equipped with PC's for internet browsing and PC gaming to keep the kids occupied (and myself). There was a range of five pool tables, one table tennis offering and a load of arcade games.

I would recommend The Gran Oasis Resort to anyone i speak to and most definetely will be going back in future.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel last week. The entertainment at night was very boring, everyone was playing cards at their own table every night. The entertainers did their best but there definitely needs to be more. There was lots of choice for food but it was tasteless. The pool side view is brilliant. I would suggest that this holiday is only for people who want a very very relaxing holiday with not much to do or watch. Beware of drunken golfers that drink as much as they can on an all inclusive and are sick in the bushes! I stayed in an apartment one floor from the top and there were 64 stairs to climb if this helps anyone.
