I went with four other ladies first week of June 2013. We all found it very hard to say anything negative about the accommodation, food or the staff.
The apartment was very spacious for Five, clean and with everything we needed, we had a roof terrace with our apartment and this was ideal if you just wanted to have quiet time away from the pool area, there was a great choice of food and they catered well for everybody.
The down side was the coach times could be a bit better as the hotel is a little out the way but it didn't bother us to much, we went into the town area twice for drinks in the evening but there was not much going on but to be fair I don't think the season had started.

Room Tip: If you have no young children then upgrade for a roof terrace.

Myself and 3 other friends have just returned from the Gran Oasis resort and can not fault it in the slightest. Besides the resort being Absolutely spotlessly clean the staff are brilliant, reception staff extremely helpful and friendly and same applies for the restaurant/bar staff! Our room was on the sunniest side of the complex which was absolutely gorgeous, extremely spacious, equipped with all your self catering needs even though we were all inclusive! The terrace is a sun trap which makes a perfect space to sunbathe which has two loungers in already! As for the maid service it is faultless, in everyday apart from wed and sun but always made sure they doubled up on bits! All inclusive food amazing tonnes to pick from same for the drinks. Resort is on a hill which everyone who books this should know but it is not an issue, we paid As little as 4 euros for a taxi into shopping centres etc and the drivers were brill! Finally the entertainment of an evening was brilliant, Renate, Enso and Tina made for brilliant entertainment as did the animal shows and different themed nights each night! I can't stress how brilliant this resort is, all the staff work so hard! Well and truly impressed and will be returning! Would highly recommend!

Room Tip: Room 95 brill, major sun trap and no stairs to get up to get to apt, not even a minute walk from poo...

We have just returned from a stay at the Gran Oasis and i would highly recommend this hotel to any of my friends who are looking for a break in tenerife.

the hotel is clean and well kept, the rooms are lovely and spacious with noone above or below you to worry about. The selection of food and drink is fair and there are a number of snacks available through the day to keep you full. the pool was clean and the staff attentive and friendly. we chose to walk to Americas or Cristianos and get a cab back as it is a bit of a trek but the cabs are cheap and we were aware of the distance before booking so it was not a problem and there is a shuttle bus. Ultimately a great resort for families or friends looking for a well priced get away. The evening entertainment was resonable and suitable for all ages. The children all seemed to have a great time. For the golfers the course is next door and the hotel offers some good deals on green fees. the onsite shop offers a well priced selection of food and drink, pool inflateables, toys, towels and gifts and there is a games room.

To address some of the bad reviews - i believe you get what you pay for and this is a three star resort so anyone going here expecting 5 star should book and pay for a 5 star hotel. we paid a very minimal amount for our trip and could not have been more impressed for the money. Air con is available in the rooms at an extra charge if you want it (pretty standard in a lot of hotels), we chose not to worry as the ceiling fan was enough and you can hire a free standing fan that might offer more of a breeze. Yes there are lots of steps in the resort but there are also lots of ramps and smooth walkways, so getting around the resort is not a problem. Again also quite common for AI to stop at 11pm in resorts I have been to. (even 5* ones). The sunbeds are all being replaced and theres only a few left to go around the larger pool. Regarding the food, if you are patient and sit down to have a drink when you enter the restaurant the food is replenished and very hot.

One point for the hotel - I found it very unfair one day to see a family reserve 8 sun beds with their towels at 8:00am and not return to use the sunbeds at all until 4:30pm. I have no problem with people putting towels down (i do this myself) and going to breakfast, lunch, even popping to the shops, but this was utterly selfish of this group when the pool was very busy and families who came down at 10am were unable to sit together. perhaps the life guard could be a little vigilant of this type of behaviour and a sign be put up to say that after perhaps a couple of hours the towels will be removed by the life guard if the beds are not being used, I have seen this in other resorts and it seems to be fair and work well, especially in busy periods.

Couldnt fault this hotel, was a little worried after reading some of the reviews but from the minute we arrived everything was perfect.
The apartments are lovely and clean, spacious and everything you need is there.
The food was great, lots of choice, even though I had read on here a few times it wasnt, they must have stayed somewhere else!!!
Everything from the staff, the pool area to the facilities, we couldnt fault it.
The only I would say is if you are expecting to be in the thick of things with regards to nightlife etc, then you might want to check the location...it was perfect for us though.
Thanks for the great holiday.

Fantastic break for all of us. I read some of the reviews before travelling and all in all you'll see more good than not. That in a nut shell is our view. We took our two kids 9yrs and 5yrs. We stayed in a deluxe suite (room 151)

THE ROOM.
Everything you need. The room was comfortable enough although the sitting area is cane furniture and the put up beds are a bit dated and not really fit for purpose. That said for the kids the put up beds were fine. You will find a small kitchenette with kettle, fridge and a two hob cooker. We were all inclusive so only really used the fridge for water and the kettle for an emergency brew! Room 151 is by the smaller pool and great for access to the main building but far enough away from the entertainment area when you have had enough. Yes the stairs are steep down to the bedroom and you do not want to walk around the room with wet feet unless you are an Olympic standard skater! The TV has BBC1,BBC2, ITV2 among others - why well it was great to see the weather back in blighty and remind us why we were there!
TIP - Move the put up beds down into the main bedroom. It has blackout curtains so when the kids go down you have some quiet time and they are none the wiser in the morning when the sun comes up at silly o'clock.

THE FOOD
You will see several reviews raising the point of the food being cold. This is Spain when all said and done catering for a European market. It is generally only the Brits that like their food piping hot. It really wasn't cold and was more than warm enough for what is a buffet style set up. There was plenty to choose from with salads, grilled meats, fish, so on and so on. Does it get a bit same'y? perhaps after a week it does but then it anywhere wouldn't it? The kids loved it, ours even tried food that we would never get them to eat normally! The help yourself local beer, water, soft drinks and wine were fine and the shorts at the bar....well tread carefully cause weights and measures have not reached this hotel. I'm a fan of a vodka and tonic or two. You'll get a tall glass that is half and half...I warned you! Snacks are about but to be honest we never really needed to eat between meals. For those that did, the toasties seemed popular and the area near the entertainment does the usual burger/hot dog, chips, pizza and salad. You can eat inside or on the balcony area, we did every night. The local birds put some people off but they really aren't a problem.
TIP - Make sure you leave someone at the table while others fetch their food - it keeps the birds away
URGENT TIP FOR THE HOTEL -
1. Get rid of the kids food bar outside. The only people using it are the new arrivals who are yet to see the birds walking around in it, I dread to think what else! I am quite sure you have the room inside and that's where the kids want to be anyway just like the adults.
2. Make tea and coffee available at all meal times not just breakfast. The silly coffee pot in the reception area after dinner just doesn't do it.

THE STAFF
Absolutely brill! - Friendly, helpful and great with the kids. Everyone from the reception team, the restaurant team and the entertainers were spot on. The reception manager who greets you as you enter deserve special mention, a really nice guy who clearly tries to ensure everyone is happy.

THE ENTERTAINMENT
Where do I start.? The kids loved it. From about 7pm till 9-9.30 its all for them, good for us we had kids. If you don't, eat later and walk across for a variety of acts through the week. Its not too bad some of it is actually quite good. The snake guy (British) is very funny as is the Eagle guy. That said beware the photo's! Even when it's not to your taste remember a couple of VAT's or G&T's and its all good!

TRIPS
Siam Park is a must, book before (with Jet2 its all in) rather than pay at the gate it is day light robbery if you do.

SUMMARY
We loved it, all eleven nights, very relaxed and yes we would go back and probably will in the next year or two...see you there I do not think you will regret it.

Room Tip: Room 151 - Features in many photos. Its a 'deluxe suite' split over two levels with bedroom...

The staff are by far this Hotel's greatest asset and I would like to personally thank Luis for making us feel special, also for the way his staff looked after us whilst we were at the Gran Oasis within the Restaurant and Bar areas.
Can I also thank the entertainment team for the shows, mini discos and the programme of entertainment that was there if you wished to use it.
This Hotel has a motto "Be Happy" and it does its best to make sure that its guests are happy and well looked after in very attractive well kept grounds.

Just one point of criticism. Try to stop the birds being a nuisance at the Restaurant. At first you think they are cheeky and loveable but as the week goes on they become pests!

That said we had a great week at the Gran Oasis if you are looking for a family holiday you will not be disappointed.

I have just returned from 3 nights at this resort with my sister after a much needed break! Check in was smooth and easy and the Man on reception was very friendly (even being so kind as to mention to be careful with suncream as the sun has been very strong, we are both very fair) Was SO impressed with the apartment. We were all inclusive but it was nice to have to option of having some snack and drinks in the room as the bar did close at 11pm and we liked to come back and sit on our balcony in the evening and look out over our sea view. as far as we could tell almost all aprtments had a sea view.

The pool area was large and clean and they are in the process of replacing all the old sunbeds for brand new ones. (only a few left to go) I found the food to have a great variety at all times of the day and didnt feel that it was too cold. Its never going to be boiling hot on any buffet. I did find that at times the buffet was cleared of a lot of food but we would just wait 10 minutes and everything was replenished with fresh food. My sister said the coffee was really nice and from what I saw that they provide plastic plates, cups and cutlery for the children which i think is a nice touch.

We were impressed with the fact we even got some small shampoo and soaps which is a great little extra you dont normally get. The hotel is very attractive with the maximum only being 3 stories high at the back of the complex. We enjoyed the all inclusive drinks, these were limited but covered spirits, a selection of cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks so was more than enough for us.

My one complaint would be the cutting off of the wristband on our last lunch. We were still going to be at the resort for the rest of the day and felt that this was a little mean because it would have been nice to still be able to get drinks and snacks for the rest of the afternoon. We arrived late on the Friday so really had another nights meal to use. This seems a little petty and wouldnt hurt to just leave these on for your final day.

I left my designer sunglasses at dinner one night and was very pleased to find they had been handed in which was a ncie surprise! No problems with the shower as it was a quiet check out day and yes it is hilly but there are ramps and you can check reviews before you go if you think this will be a problem, same with the distance from the beach. We knew all this before we booked so was not an issue at all.

One warning to couples, this is a family resort and even outside of school holidays there was a lot of children, on the main though they were all very well behaved (some of the parents were probably worse! :) ) And if you want to use the air con this is an extra charge. We didnt bother as the evenings were a little cooler anyway so we didnt struggle to sleep.

Room Tip: if all like ours (119) then they are all great!
