Ponderosa Apart Hotel

After reading reviews I certainly was worried about my 7 night stay All Inclusive here, if you see past reviews stating they take 100 euros deposit this is not true, they only take 20 euro deposit for your key which you get back on departure day. The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly, rooms were dated but quite large.

Entertainment was poor, we had 2 nights of Karaoke and a parrot show, I'm not a breakfast person so cant comment, but lunch and dinner food was fairly repetitive but I eat chips everyday anyway so I didnt complain,

Beach is 5 minutes down the road with some restaurants just around the corner, Siam Park is also literally across the road, you can see the entrance from your balcony.

7 nights All Inclusive £360 x 2 including flights was a bargain for August and would certainly use this hotel again for a cheap Tenerife Holiday.

After reading reviews I too was a bit worried about service and food. After the second day we couldn't see why people were complaining. But then the standards started dropping as did the staff serving too. One member of staff doing the whole eating area and bar. The management are the problem and need to hire more staff. Came down on day 3 to breakfast and the complete range of cooked food was cold. So decided to have cereal only to find warm sour milk. Food is recycled and reheated. Will never go to this hotel again.

After reading some of the reviews I was dreading arriving there, but was pleasantly surprised. The reception staff were very polite and helpfull, the room was basic but what we expected, food was basic but always something to eat and fresh salad everyday . All the restaurant and bar staff (which are the same people) were very helpful and got you a drink as soon as you sat down with your food. It was a clean hotel with cleaners around all day and pools cleaned every morning (bit of a lack of changing bed sheets but not towels). You do have to pay 22.50 to rent the safe key for a week and 20 deposit for your room key and no free wifi, but all in all great location , close to the strip but not to close good hotel would definitely recommend and stay there again

I came here with my children (1&8) for a holiday and booked the studio which sleeps 4 (2 x sofa beds). The studio was lovely and clean and the kitchen looks like it had just been fitted so was in perfect condition. There were all the facilities you need in the studio including a fridge freezer, toaster, cooker (not needed by me!), microwave, kettle, TV, DVD player etc so you could cater for yourself, but I'm on holiday so wanted someone to do that for me so just used the basics for coffee and toast in a morning. There are plenty of bars and restaurants a short walk away, there is food available in the hotel but we didn't try it but the people I spoke to said it was good value. The location is very good it's about 5 minutes to the beach and there are a couple of small supermarkets near by. There are 2 pools which was great for the kids. I could have done with a one bed apartment for the little one as we kept disturbing her on a night when we were sitting chatting on the balcony and aircon would have been nice but for the price it is excellent value and a great location. All in all it was a lovely stay and I am going back next May but with friends rather than with the children.

I paid half the price for this holiday than i have done for other holidays so was not expecting 5 star as you get what you pay for. The hotel was clean and the reception staff were very pleasant. I had trouble with the shower the first day and went to reception and before i went back to my room in the lift the man was already there sorting it out.
The food was repetitive but again this hotel is not 4 or 5 star.
The pools were great and always lots of sunbeds. The location is great with siam park a walk away .There were no stag nights and as i have said before on here, if you take your children away in the summer holidays then stags and hens don't go then as too expensive.
A holiday is what you make it and we met some lovely people at the hotel who also had a pleasant stay here.
One more thing to mention is that as soon as we sat down to eat in the restaurant the staff had our drinks on the table which i thought was a nice personal touch.
All in all i would stay here again and just remind people that if you want 5 star then you have to be willing to pay for it

why people moan about the food is beyond me,yes it may have been a little repetative but always hot and plenty of it.It was not fine dining but not 5 star prices either .The bar staff were very good considering they also done the restaurant, the pools were of good size and clean and the rooms were fine. The one thing that may help could be some daytime entertainment or at least music around the pool and bar area.this apart i will be returning in the future.Remember to ask for LARGE beers to avoid plastic cups

Room Tip: overlook the pool but away from the bar area
