“good place to stay”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

We stayed the green garden resort for a 4nitght stay. All I can say about the hotel is omg its awesome place to consider. The the whole experience of the hotel is next to none from the staff, the apt, the food, the facilities and the entertainment. Everyone there is helpful and polite and will go that extra mile to make it a better place. We got there at around 6.30 in the evening and were greeted by a cheerful young man who explained everything about the resort. Settled in our room and went to the restaurant for our evening meal. as we are veggie’s the waiter suggest we try the risotto without the meat. It was delicious. While we were waiting for our meal he brought us a starter on the house and a desert at the end on the house. We had chosen bed and breakfast. in the morning it was a buffet breakfast with a good choice of veggies delights. Evening entertainments was varied and good, wish it was longer. The resort does offer all inclusive deal when you get there, and I think it’s worth doing that. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday perfect. By the way it was my wife’s birthday while we were there, they sent a little birthday wishes with a drink. A great touch from them. Free coaches to and from the beach and water parks. Try the markets as well.

We stayed over Easter weekend for 11 nights and my biggest fear was the over crowding of the hotel due to school holidays! I was actually pleasantly surprised as this wasnt the case! The apartment was huge, fantastic for our family of 4 (myself, husband and twin daughters -12) We had a 2 bedroom apartment, no 7...spotless and more than adequate. The reception staff were great and very helpful and Pepe was great!
The pool area did become more crowded by the end of the stay and it did feel a little too small for the hotel.. this would be my only niggle but not enough to put me off staying again!
The restaurant was nice, plenty of food and lots of choice. Each night was themed but there was always chips, pasta and salad.. basically, there would always be something to eat! All Inclusive started after breakfast from 11-11 and the snacks were more than enough. The Italian a la carte was our family favorite and the food was delicious! The fizzy red wine went down a treat too! My children loved the San Francisco cocktails which the waiters made just for them in this restaurant too.
To walk to the main area of Playa, yes, you did have to walk down the main motor way which has ladies of the night... however, this in NOT the hotel's fault and you cannot blame Thomas Cook or the hotel for this! We walked down the road during the day and there were no ladies out, it was only late evening that they were there and a cab was only 5-6 euro's to get back to the hotel anyway.
Siam park was fab!! We had unlimited access by booking it through Thomas Cook and it was well worth it! We worked out, we saved about £500 by adding this on at time of booking and we only went 4 times during our stay!
All in all, a great family holiday and we would probably return just for the access to Siam if nothing else!

Room Tip: we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, no 7.. great room!

A really nice hotel that suited us down to the ground. The food is very good and varied ( our 9 year old twins never got bored with the food ) those people that did not like it should go back to the Ritz or the Savoy in London. We had unlimited use of the Siam Watrer Park which was 5 mins away and in our opinoin the best water park in the world ( and we have done Florida USA ). All the staff from the top to the bottom are very good. Pepe the Scotish man on the front desk is just the iceing on the cake - nice happy bloke. One last point - we asked for a quiet room via the internet , thats exactley what we got.

Thank you Green Garden

Just home from Green garden- did not book this hotel, we were moved there due to overbooking at Gran Oasis. Apartment was poor, food terrible, pool area overcrowded and pool heavily chlorinated. The noise was dreadful and the entertainment provided was mainly for young children and did not suit my teenagers. My daughter was provided with a camp bed for the two week stay. The overall hygiene was disgraceful and the food was either under or overcooked. To add icing on the cake the in resort rep from Thomas Cook was rude and unhelpful. The 'long' walk into either of the resorts involved navigating the red light district in the evenings and crossing busy roads. Think carefully before booking this resort and hope you are not next door to a privately owned apartment- the owners do not share the hotel's enthusiasm for holidaymakers. All in all it was the worst holiday we ever had and we will definitely never, never travel with Thomas Cook again.

Dear guest,

Thanks for sharing your experience and publishing your comment on Tripadvisor. We would like to apologize for the inconveniences that we may have caused to you for moving to Green Garden Resort & Suites but the standard and category are exactly the same. Regarding the food, we have nearly 200 people in all inclusive and the level of satisfaction is 9 out of 10 in the statistics of Tour Operators. On the other hand, we would like to say our pools are cleaned with Salt Chlorine not Chlorine directly, apart from that, maintenance team check every day the level of chlorine of all swimming pools and even more we have an external company that supervises the conditions of the swimming pools without finding any problem.

We regret that your stay has not been up to your expectations.

Sincerely yours.

This hotel is great. From the front desk staff to the cleaners. Always smiling and happy to help. We stayed a week from 26th March. Weather was fab, two bedroom apartment was all we could have wished for. Pool very spacious and loads of sunloungers. Close to shops/restaurants, about a 10-15 minute walk away. The only negative would be the prices in the on site shop were quite high. Will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: all rooms are close to the pool area

We stayed two weeks in room 34, and enjoyed our stay in gorgeous weather. That was the key to our vacations success.

The hotel has polite and nice staff, nice enough rooms and facilities, a good pool area, a nice little shop and is located in a quiet (most of the time) area. The service is the best part, and front desk did a great job for us.

The hotel is, unless you play golf, too far from downtown with unpractical access by foot, and located next to a closed down hotel, and wasteland on the other side. But that is Spain 2013.

You get your moneys worth and it is great for families, and especially three generations, without high ambitions of social life in discos and bars, and likes a round or two of golf a week.

We spent 3 weeks from 14/2-7/3 2013.This is first of all a family place. We were a couple, mainly interested in silence and resting and playing golf.We found out very quickly that here are the children ruling. The children, and specially their fathers quite certainly had a lovely time.Except for the noise and the loudness of the speakers, we also enjoyed it and had many good laughs when we got used to it.Forget about talking yourself, use lipreading.
The apartments were lovely and clean. We simply loved the food, for once the fish was not overcooked. The Chefs and everybody in the kitchen were very nice.If they got to know about special wishes, they did their best to fulfill it. Thanks to Javi and his team.We loved the juice machine. The best thing about buffets is that everybody always can find something they like. Not to mention the cakes!!!!
The service was excellent everywhere. The evening we arrived, the fridge was broken.Fifteen minutes after we told the reception,it was replaced by a new one.
Everybody working in the hotel were extremely helpful, and did much more than they were expected to do.
Many thanks to Cristina for her lovely drink, Coctail de Cristina, and to the rest of the nice people working in Trattoria Sahara and upstairs in the bar and dining "room". I loved practising my weird Italian/Spanish with all of you.You worked and smiled and looked like you really enjoyed it all.
