Our trip was with our parents. We were placed at the green and yellow apartments on the 1st level, 1 & 7. That was ideal since they are both above 65, and going up and down the stairs might be too tedious for them.

Apartment was simply furnished with necessities. Although the doors were rather old, it was quite maintained. We saw the keeper fixing our doors to keep our apartment complex secured. The safe at room 7 did not work, but since we did not have much valuables, we did not use it at all. The keeper was also busy trying to fix one of the lights at our bathroom, but it was beyond repair. Yet, the rest of the lights at the bathroom did work.
What we liked, the satellite television which had variety of channels such as BBC world and Dutch/Belgian BVN. We also liked the free wi-fi at the apartment complex. We also liked it that bread is provided for free every morning. We also received welcome Cava and during Xmas, the management inserted a little gift of Cava with hazelnut chocs. It was really thoughtful of them. In addition, the location was fabulous. As we walked out of our apartment towards the direction of the beach, we were mesmerized by the sight of Maspalomas Dunes. It was magnificent! We also liked the beach boulevard where we could hangout, enjoy the beach atmosphere.

As for eating out, there are plenty of restaurants, yet mostly are so touristic, either the Chinese buffet or Italian/Spanish theme restaurants, which had basics such as pasta, pizza, something spanish like tapas or salad. We did get the chance to explore some restaurants at Centro, a Brazilian churrahscaria and Opera. The churrahcaria was the best of all, and Opera was a disaster. Terrible tasteless food, that the place should have closed down.

Back to Judoca Colors, it was a fabulous stay, we loved the nicely located balconies facing the sun and we would certainly stay here again if we return to Gran Canaria.

My partner and I have stayed at Judoca Colors on 3 separate occasions now and absolutely love the no nonsense approach of the complex. It does not proclaim to be anything it is not and the staff and management team I have found to be 1st Class.

We are looking to return there again for another 2 weeks in the Autumn and are disappointed that we can no longer obtain flights through airmiles, as this made the holiday much more accessible and allowed us to spend more on meals, entertainment, etc. However, don't let this stop you visiting Judoca Colors, as you will have a wonderful break and will not regret your choice of accomodation.

The CITA and YUMBO provide hours of entertainment opportunities and you will never have a dull moment. The pool is always clean and the surrounding area excellently maintained. The beach front is no distance at all and there are plenty of shops to keep you well stocked in food and drink.

A small word of warning, however. My partner and I were robbed whilst staying at Judoca and this was shown, via CCTV, to be an outsider who climbed over the wall in a moment of opportunism and made off with property and cash worth in the region of £3,000, including my irreplaceable limited edition Omega watch that my parents had given me. If you are going to stay at Judoca, or anywhere for that matter, make sure you lock your apartment, even if you are sitting 5-yards in front of it. All it took was for us to fall asleep on the recliners for 20-minutes and the thief had been in and back out in no time at all. Also, there is a safe provided in every apartment, so folks please use it!!!

Even so, despite this, we go back. The last visit in Jan/Feb of this year was the result of a gift of a week's free accomodation, due to the robbery occuring in July last year, from Eduardo William, the Managing Director of Judoca Colors parent company, Destinum.com and I cannot praise the management team enough. I have always found them exceptionally polite and helpful whenever I have required assistance.

So there you have it ... a wonderful place to stay and a fantastic complex to enjoy as long as you remain switched on and take care of yourselves and your property.

We were checked in earlier than the check in time (always great). The staff were friendly and willing to help you with your requests. While the main woman we dealt with spoke little or no english, we were able to communicate just fine. The apartments face the pool and small garden area. It seemed like our private pool and we took full advantage of it. Was nice to get up, have a drink by the pool and chill! The beach is nearby (just some stairs down) and the Maspalomas Dunes were to the right. This is a very touristy place with tons of similar restaurants catering to foreign travelers. Try to go to San Fernando or Fataga for real Canarian food (which is delicious). Our favorite was Las Casas Viegas (or something like that). We rented a scooter and was a nice alternative to a car. Took surfing lessons from prsurf school (http://www.prsurfing.com). They were very cool and really gave us our money's worth. It was a very relaxing vacation (much needed).

I went with my partner at the beginning of September. I can say we had a fairly good experience. The apartments were clean, comfortable, in reasonable condition and the staff friendly.
A couple of annoying things----- I pre-paid extra and booked a double room through Expedia (fab deal!), which turned out not to be available on arrival. However, the manager did refund the difference near the end of the holiday and was quite nice about it.
Also some of the wall sockets were unusable and coming out of the wall, the fuse box too!
The main office/reception is about 5 mins walk away in another apartment complex, a real pain if you need to pick up a key or complain to someone who spoke in English after 4pm or at weekends.
But there are great things about it too. We were no more than 10 mins walk from the beach, restaurants, shops and The Yumbo Centre. It was fairly quiet with only 12 apartments and the area was queit too. The pool felt like it was for our own personal use and uncrowded. I checked this place out through different websites, some say no children allowed, others say they are, but there were some kids there when we arrived. The combination safe was a nice touch and the kitchen had basic cutlery and crockery, though a kettle would have been nice.......but really this is just nit picking - we had a really good holiday and would stay there again now we know what to expect.

Judoca Colors is situated one road away from the raised promenade at the quieter end of Playa del Ingles. It is a development of only 12 apartments set amongst other similar low rise apartments - meaning that it is not amidst huge hotels and apartment blocks. It's in a tidy and quiet location. It is situated within walking distance to sea-front restaurants, the CITA centre and the Yumbo Centre.
The apartments themselves are very well maintained and all are identical apart from the colour co-ordination of each suite. Each has a well equipped kitchen with a combi grill-microwave, filter coffee machine, hob, extraction fan, fridge etc. The towels and bedding are replaced very frequently and are of a good quality. There is one member of staff on site between 8am and 4pm, and this is predominantly one person apart from the occasional day off she takes. She has been on site each of the four times I have stayed and she is diligent, obliging and ensures that the apartments and site is maintained to a high standard.
Each apartment has a video door entry system so that if you invite someone to your apartment, they can "buzz" your suite direct and you can allow them entry into the small complex from your intercom interface.
On arrival you will find a bottle of Cava and a bottle of water in the fridge which is a great gesture. In fact, I stayed at Christmas in 2006 and received a number of gifts: candy, more cava and a USB gadget! The development has a free wireless network which is an absolute bonus for people who need to work and have WiFi laptops. There is also free internet access on the complex' own pc during office hours. The balconies are generous on the upper level apartments, and the three ground floor apartments have "patio" style terraces that lead on to the pool area itself. If you are WiFi enabled, you can browse on the balcony - how cool?!
The pool area is clean and quiet. No matter how full the apartments maybe, there has never been more than 6-8 or so people around the pool at one time in my experience.
Recently, there have been a couple of questions regarding security - my own personal belief is that this is really unfortunate. I know that the MD of the complex is planning to employ CCTV at Judoca Colors to ensure the ongoing security of all guests. I am returning in November for another (5th) stay and would highly recommend these Apartments - they certainly make Playa del Ingles more attractive! If you plan to arrive after 4pm, do familiarise yourself with the location of Adonis Bungalows (about 5-10 mins walk from Judoca) where the Receptionists will be prepared for you and will have the key to your apartment. ALSO there is FREE bread in the office daily which is very convenient for breakfast etc.

Don´t stay at this hotel. We were robbed (almost assuredly by the hotel cleaning staff) and the management did nothing to help us- they just asked for the keys to the room if we weren´t going to continue our stay.

We arrived on a thursday afternoon and, shortly after, left our room (locked and windows closed) to go to the beach. Upon returning three hours later, our door was still locked and there was no sign of forced entry. Thirty minutes later, when I went to get money out of my wallet, i found that my money, credit cards, camera, and passport had all been stolen. My friends money, credit cards, and passport were also stolen.

Dear umichMadrid,
We felt the incidence that you have had enormously, so we have commented with the consulate. However, it is not certain that we have passed and we neglected the subject. It was the police, and they did not see indication that it could have been the staff. You arrived at 15:45, and the staff leaves the complex to 16:00, when you were in the apartment. You had a safe in the room that we offer free with a responsible insurance . The staff left the complex keys in the office, and is certainty of it. We had been 20 years working with the same staff, and we have never had only a problem. It is more, all the internal valuations and external that do to us, they grant the greater score to us in the treatment of the staff. I understand enormously your malaise by this incident, because one was short break that surely enjoy to the maximum, but I do not believe that we have been some guilty in it. In any case, I am thankful to you that you have written here, because thus I can have contacted with you and to comment the situation openly.
you are invited to return when you prefer, and thus to be able to verify yourself who the staff this to help them and to do the most comfortable the vacations there to them, and not to obstruct them.
Regards,
Eduardo w.

This is a very clean, comfortable apartment complex situated in a quiet location surrounded by similar low rise developments. The complex comprises of just 12 apartments accurately described in the official descriptions on various websites. It is not suitable for disabled or infirm guests so please be very aware of this clear and emphatic statement if this is an important consideration when booking. The magnificent promenade offering spectacular views of the world renowned Dunes of Maspalaomas is just a one minute walk from the apartment complex.Again access to the beach situated below the promenade is via steps even though there is a wheelchair ramp on each set of steps but believe me you would want to ensure the brakes on the chair are working and whatever about descending you have no chance of pushing a wheelchair up unless you have muscles like Mr. Universe.

This should not detract from the quality of Judoca Colors. It offers what it promises.Private, comfortable accomodation at realistic costs.I consider the property ideal for independent travellers who do not require assistance from the staff as reception hours are limited. However the apartments are diligently cleaned and in general the hygiene standards are more than satisfactory throughout the complex. With the close proximity of the beach you are likely to have the swimming pool to yourself until late afternoon and most importantly the pool area is sun drenched from early morning until sundown. Each of the apratments are colour themed - hence the name and it works. Its refreshing to see a new approach to sustainable tourism in a resort that has suffered from hideous planning decisions in the past.

So thats it - it aint the Ritz but its not the pitz.A value for money, well run apartment complex that even allows the dreamers to imagine that they have their own "private" apartment in Playa Del Ingles - a resort where the stunning vista from the nearby promenade is simply sensational.
