“fantastic family holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

Just got back from a 2 week holiday at Parque Cristobal, Excellent holiday had by all our family 2 adults and 3 children ages 6,10 and 13, we didn't want to leave. The bungalows were very clean and spacious, The only fault was it was hard to sleep because it was too hot air conditioning next time. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic with lots of choice. The kids enjoyed helping themselves to drinks and ice cream. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming, They also had themed nights Asian, Mexican, Italian, canarian and bbq. The pools were fantastic and the kids loved the water park and the water slide. We would definitely return.and would definitely recommend. ENJOY!!!!!!

Room Tip: Air conditioning is a must.

Many bad points:-
1) Not enough sun loungers and parasols, the ones that were available were reserved with towels by 7.30 on a morning.
2) If you don't go all inclusive and you use the restaurant the staff treat you like a thief. They make you feel very uncomfortable as if you are trying to eat for free.
3) Staff aren't very pleasant. We were a party of 3 and when we arrived we had 2 pillows. We asked the maid several times and didn't receive any extra pillows. In the end we contacted reception a week into our holiday and we were told all rooms have 4 pillows. Ours didn't and we were made to feel like we were asking the earth for wanting a few extra pillows. We were told we would have to wait as they didn't think they had any spare! Eventually got extra pillows a few days before the end of our 2 week stay.
4) If you book self catering take your own tin opener as we didnt have one.
5) The area around the hotel is very dirty.

Just back from a 2 week break: This is a really good hotel...(well Bungalows)... Based my decision pretty much on Tripadvisor';s feedback.. we weren't disappointed... Really nice staff, even at the desk at check in, we were treated well with good humoured staff, nice and swift.

Accommodation:

Bungalows are clean, tidy and modern. Quite well appointed, 32" flat screen with around 15 English Channels...fridge, hob and sink, and table and chairs for those that are going S.C... Bathroom, bedroom and pull down bed all perfectly adequate.. Lots of hanging space and drawers..

Dining and Food:

Very well run dining Room, food is without doubt what makes the place... really good selection at breakfast... fresh omelette is superb, usual range of eggs, bacon etc, cereal and a continental shelf.. only 1 revolving toaster tho, that causes a traffic jam. Lunch and Dinner Theme nights, Chinese, Mexican, Local, Italian... all very good... Good choice every time.. the food is really what makes the place tbh.

Entertainment:

Excellent for kids, not brill for adults, entertainers work really hard tho... all in all pretty high standards for staff, cleanliness, food, and accommodation.. definitely recommend a visit.

Room Tip: No aircon unless you request it.

Spent 1 week from 1 August. Most impressed! 3* really deserves a 4* for the food and staff and Thomas Cook Team! Stayed in 2 x 1 bedroom bungalows near to the main pool and restaurant. Lovely clean rooms with kettle and toaster etc. Even though we were All Inclusive is was lovely to be able to make a coffee first thing in the morning without having to leave our bungalow! From check in to check out every member of hotel staff we encountered was helpful, friendly and polite. The Thomas Cook Entertainment Team kept us amused and definitely 'entertained' during our stay. Thank you to Gemma, Katie, Freddie and Will (especially for the 'Pantomime'!) Although we didn't have any young kids with us we saw the Family World kids team interracting with their customers every day and the kids were loving every minute of it! Excellent work from Liam and his team! Thanks to Chloe the Thomas Cook Rep for answering our questions and sharing her knowledge of the resort. Would recommend this hotel to any group whether they be Family or couples or friends!

Room Tip: Superior bungalows have Air Conditioning, Pool Towels, Bathrobes included. Stayed in 176 & 177.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at Parque Christobal with husband and 2 children aged 5 and 7. Went self catering as my daughter has severe food allergies. Bungalows very well set out in grounds, staggered so as to afford some privacy in front and behind bungalow. We did not have air con but there are screens and wrought iron (decorative) bars on the bedroom windows so you can safely leave the bedroom windows open at night and a good breeze came through the kids bedroom into ours. Kettle, toaster, coffee maker provided. Basic utensils in kitchen (we purchased a sharper knife) locally but adequate. Bedrooms are a very good size with lots of wardrobe space and drawers. Daily maid service fantastic. Maids always worked around our trips out of the bungalow (past holidays at other locations they clean same time every day). Every day we went out at a different time but bungalow always lovely and tidy when we got back. Kitchen bin emptied daily and spare bags left. Staff at reception so so helpful. Frying pan in bungalow had seen better days and I needed a frying pan that had not had egg in before because of my daughters allergies. I explained to reception and 2 hours later a brand new sealed frying pan was delivered. Amazing.

Pools were great. Chlorine free so my daughter could go swimming for first time. Booked both children one to one swimming lessons with Tammy. Half hour sessions. Block of 5 was 45 euros each and worth every cent. After 2 sessions kids had abandoned their rubber rings and the baby pool and were whiz zing down the slide in the bigger pool. Cheaper rate for lessons if your child goes in a group of up to 6 but I thought it was definitely worth paying extra for one to one and they were both swimming after 5 sessions.

As we were not all inclusive we were not tied to the resort. We had a hire car for 2 weeks which we collected at the airport and returned to the airport. Used the car nearly every day. Found some great supermarkets like Hyperdino and mercadillo which had fantastic fresh fruit and veg. Nearby le tableau shopping centre was good. Went to crocodile park one day. Fantastic. Crocs literally inches away from you and a daily croc show where chap gets in enclosure with 20 huge crocs! Fun fair nearby was good. Drove to capital one day. Only took 40 minutes. Fab shopping centre. Toys r us was massive. Went to puerto de Mogan quite a few times. Most picturesque fishing village. Gorgeous small beach, lovely chafes and every Friday there is a huge market with hundreds of stalls. A lot of them are selling the same stuff and you have to barter hard. The price often halves as you take 2 steps away from the stall but its part of the fun. Yellow submarine trips go from here and the kids loved that.

Evenings we left the resort. The entertainment was very blary and kariokeish so we went to the Yumbo centre. Someone in a past review said not suitable for kids - nonsense. Yes it's cosmopolitan and there are same sex couples but the atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. Service at the bars on ground floor is excellent. We went to La Bulletin frequently. Best hot chocolate ever. Staff remember you and are so friendly. Lots of street entertainment and stalls. Some stall holders on other floors pushy but all you have to do is smile back and keep walking if you aren't interested in their wares. A few shops had prices on stuff which was good but even then you can still barter. Other nights we went to a bar called Ciao Ciao at the local beach. Taxi was only 3 euros. Great free entertainment. Different acts every night. My daughter loved the dancers and acrobats. Drinks service not as good as at the Yumbo but it was packed and only 2 waiters working.

Only niggle about holiday was people reserving pool loungers with their towels very early but then not actually using them until much later. However wasn't really an issue as we never lounged by the pool all day as too hot. Spent an hour in pool in morning then another hour at tea time. Plus there are 2 loungers outside every bungalow anyway which is a great idea.

So great accommodation, very friendly staff, great location and loads to do. Small island but there was still loads we didn't do. I would suggest even if you've booked all inclusive to venture out of the resort. I walked around with the children at 11.30pm and felt completely safe. Also brilliant mini golf at the Yumbo which my son loved.

Enjoy your holiday here. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: I requested a quiet bungalow, got number 47, it was very close to the children's pools which was...

My friend an I an 3 children went for a week last month. This was a cheaper hol than what we usually go for , an additional week away in the sun so I expected it to be basic but was pleasantly surprised. The Thomas cook animation team were great and the entertainment good fun, small a/I hotel that had everything we needed with a very good buffet restaurant with excellent food, the hotel staff work so hard an are really stretched which was a shame as there didn't seem to be enough of them for the amount of work, restaurant an bar staff did not stop! Bungalows great with loads of storage space , hotel isn't glamorous but is pleasant looking an clean an definately worth the money . You had to be up by 8.30 am to reserve a sunbed as people did put their towels out rather early , but that's to be expected in peak times .

We have just returned after spending a week in Parque Cristobal with our daughter and grandson. From the time we checked in with the helpful, friendly receptionist until we checked out, we had absolutely no cause to complain. We could not have chosen a better spot for our bungalow, right by the pool. We opened the curtains each morning to the sight of the pool and spa pool. Just a short walk away was the splash, fun area for the children, with a water slide for young children and another for slightly older children. There were all sorts of water jets and fun ways of getting soaked! The food was excellent and, as all inclusive guests, we were able to choose from a wide variety of cooked meals, salads and side extras. Our grandson loved going to the children's food bar to make his own choice. One waiter, Alfonso, made a real effort to ensure that our grandson was happy and that our table was cleared of dirty dishes as soon as possible. The general feeling was that the hotel was very generous. We were able to serve ourselves with soft drinks and lager. Spirits, cocktails and wine were available over the bar, part of the all inclusive package. Our grandson was bit young to take advantage of the kids' club but the children all seemed to enjoy the activities. A big plus was that everything finished by 11 o'clock and the complex was silent after that time. Not once were we disturbed by any noise during the evening.
We used the free shuttle bus to the beach once but the beach did not really appeal to us. We also caught the public service bus to Puerto de Mogan which was really worth the trip. It only cost just over 4 euros each.
I hope that we can return to such a lovely complex in the near future.

Room Tip: Pool views are a bonus
