I have been to Gran Canaria on Budget Holidays for the last 5 years running, and marbella golf is by far the best accom i have stayed in, an i have stayed in 4 key places before. The 'bungalows' are 2 story which is fab, and there is loads of room in them, yes there are a few ants as you would expect but it is clean. The 2 guy's who run the pool bar were so much fun, they really brighten up your day! The pool area is small, but it has a very relaxed atmosphere for straight / bi / gay couples and families too. The only downside was the maid service, but if you asked for your room cleaned the maid will come along and sort it. Highly recommended!

Clean, comfortable, friendly and couteous what more could you ask for at these prices. Stayed there for 2 weeks and would definetly go back.

Saw 3 cockroaches in that time but what do you expect its is the Canaries after all. Ants weren't a problem though we did see some outside the bungalows.

Just a 10 minute walk to the Yumbo centre or under 3 Euro by taxi during the day slightly more during the early hours of the morning.

Two Spar shops very near by and an excellent low-cost estaurant just outsidse the complex.

Would rate it 8 out of 10 overall.

We booked our holiday, and then read the reviews on here and thought we'd made the biggest mistake ever!! We 100% expected the worst! We expected cochroaches, electrics hanging out the wall and broken beds!!

We got there... opened the door slowly... and was pleasantly surprised!!

The apartments were on two floors, open planned lounge and kitchen downstairs, and upstairs a bedroom and bathroom. We had a small garden and a balcony.

We only went to the pool a few times, but it was a good size and clean.

Marbella Golf Bungalows was a 15 minute walk from the Yumbo and 25 minutes from the Kasbah. We got taxis back and they cost less than €3.

One night when we came home we had no water but we went down to reception and spoke our best Spanish to the lad that worked of a night and we had water when we woke in the morning but other than the large amount of ants that was our only problem.

oh the shower head wasnt great I ended up holding it above me when I showered as when it was in the holder it was too close to the wall to get under!!

i'd recommend these Bungalows, and have even said to family that it would be a good complex to go with all the family!

Well this is the first time i have taken the time to enter a site and comment on my holiday, I fully agree with the comments you get what you pay for so with a 2??? star rating I wasnt expecting the ritz or even a comfortable ride and my god we didn't get it. We arrived after dark and drove up to a posh looking hotel, yesss we thought result... but oh no the taxi carried on to the back of this plush looking hotel and dropped us on what we thought was the service entrance but we weren't that lucky. The supposed reception was shut, well we think it was a reception we never actually found it open to find out...... 24hour my a-se 24 seconds more like so they could dodge the complaints, a little lady came to us after we had rung the door bell and rang the number on the door several times and asked us in broken english if we had booked an apartment and we said yes, she then went to an unlocked box on the wall and removed 3 sets of keys and basically said ...take your pick. We chose some keys went to the apartment opened the door and whowwwwwwwww shear luxury nottttttttttt, there was no second room as booked for my son and his partner and the fridge had a towel in it, why I asked myself?? but all was answered when i picked it up, it was sodden so i moved the ice tray and water cascaded onto the floor and all this was being done by the light of my phone because the electric was only working in the broken fridge, tired and annoyed my husband went off in search of help and returned with a lovely guy from the bar who went behind the door and flipped the electric switch and hey prestoooo we have light whoopee now it looks really bad, so off my husband goes back to reception and has the wise idea to try another set of keys from the still unlocked reception block...... great lock up first apartment and off to number 2, slightley better 2 bedrooms at least even though my 22 year old son and his partner are expected to sleep on BUNK BEDs, i swear i booked for 4 adults never mind though at least this one has lights and is clean so we freshen up and go off to the Balero Bar (which has closed by now) but the lovely and welcoming Patrick and Martin who are just having a night cap with friends kindly let us have a drink in. We head off into town which is a taxi ride away or an hour walk( taxis are cheap so take them it's worth the 2-3 euros) cause the walk is boring, open to the hot sun in the day and deserted and dark at night.

Next day feeling more relaxed and open to suggestions that we might have been touchy when tired we head off to the pool.......well you know whats coming don't you ??? yep you got it just a bog standard not to clean (and it never was the whole week we were there) pool and by day seven it was swim at your peril the MRSA bugs in our hospitals would'nt have survived this pool and i aint joking :-). No I have to say the best part of this holiday was the weather, the guests at this complex (poor sods) and Martin and Patrick from the Belero Bar bless them two very strong anchors in a fast sinking ship, lots of patential here but very very bad management and when we left, still reception was closed and a rep well Thomson, First Choice, Airtours helloooooooo where are you, please come check this out cause this really does need demoting to a -00000 star.
But again the bar is XXX star

What a great place, me, my hubby and three year old son all had a fantasic time. The Rooms are basic but very clean and suited us fine. The pool area was great for both me and my hubby and a little pool for our son. The two men who run 'Balero' the pool bar are soooo much fun and make you feel so welcome. We have only been back one day and we are already planning our trip back. The bungalows are about a twenty min walk to the beach and also to the town centre, which is not a problem because there is always taxis about outside and they cost about 2.50 euro to either distination. While you are there you must go to the Yumbo Centre, what a great night out, it is very popular for the gay scene there, you must try Ricky's, each night they have a Drag show which i very well done and fun for the whole family. Cant wait to go again.

If money is not an option, then you can always find more for your hard earned £, but if you are looking for a break on a budget - you cannot go far wrong with The Marbella Golf Apartments.

Situated on the border of PdI and Maspalomas, the bungalows are on 2 stories, with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs, some have a 2nd bedroom on the bottom floor. There is a balcony from the bedroom, and from the living area , which has a sofa bed in for 2 smaller people, there is a patio and small grass area with 2 sun beds - some people spent their days there, some by the pool - depends on your location and preference.

The bungalows have the basics, but nothing is missing - although the quantity of cups and plates vary I believe and there is no toaster or kettle - well we did not any way... you may want to take a couple of mugs if you want a decent sized cup too. The reception is not open all day but the manager is always around on call, and will help as much as he can.

Half of the complex is now privately owned so weekends are busier by the pool. The complex has had a few issues with decoration I believe but while we were there a number of improvements were taking place.... pity they did not think to change our shower curtain which was mouldy - my wife says if she'd have known she'd have picked up one in the uk for a couple of quid !!

One of the best points is the Pool bar ran by Martin and Patrick, who are friendly and very helpful - but be wary of the mickey taking, all in good fun of course, and guarenteed to raise a smile ! Must not forget Nancy their dog either!!. Open all day for a beer, snack or full meal, they guys are experienced operators and are planning much more to make your holiday a success.

One word of warning, the entrance to the complex on the positive is very secure - by key only, but once exited, to get the the main road is an uphill walk - only takes a few minutes and certainly works up a thirst, but just be wary if you have difficulty walking. The site elsewhere tells you about the inexpensive and frequent taxis who will drop you to the door , and are often waiting at the top of the incline.

Be wary too of the ants - they are small and harmless and don't intrude whatsoever..... but they are there - in fact they are evrywhere on the island so it is not just their problem!! Take a small tube if Nippon if you are particularly concerned!

Overall if you pay for 2 star and expect 5 star then you are a mug, but if you pay 2 star, this gives a good quality and clean and tidy 2 star experience.

We arrived at around 2am.. when entering the apartment,we found the obligatory cockroach ours was alive and running around!!.seems to be familar..

We are a couple, without children, this place would of been much worse had we had our children with us.

Sheets changed twice in seven days, room cleaned once, which was a 1 minute sweep and a bin change, the maid was finished in 2 minutes flat!

The whole complex needs a face lift, its very tired and shabby.

We were the only British staying there, the rest were all Spanish and Morroccan..Most of these own or timeshare the bunglows, and they all seemed to have very poorly behaved kids.

Because of this we went out,we didn't stay beside the pool .
We then encounted our biggest fault .....

This place is NOT convienent for the best place's in the area,Yumbo 25 mins walk..Lighthouse boulevard ,and dunes 45 mins walk ... .kasbah 20 mins walk, there is a spar shop about 5 mins away .Cabs are cheap, all the above are between 4 and 5 euro's, but soon add up, if you use one,a few times a day.

No major travel agent would touch this place, its only small online company's that use it!

Reception staff were friendly and all spoke very good English.

The on site cafe called bolero was Expensive for what it was ,18 euros for 2 breakfast's with a coffee!!!....much better is on offer elsewhere and cheaper.

I would not stay here again,as not one thing was good
