I agree that the place needs some cleaning and renovation. - I just got back from two weeks at Marbella, and actually that's what's happening right now. There are now two english-speaking administrators called Yolanda and Raúl, and there are two more cleaners hired.
The Marbella is placed in an quiet area with other hotels, and the neighbourhood is not scary or bad at all. I was walking home alone every night after 21.00, and I'm still alive and was not robbed. It's close to Spar, shoppingcenters, the beach and restaurants.
I had plenty of towels, and cleaning was offered three times. - I saw one cockroach, but its the same in all bungalows. I don't know anything about the pool area, cause I was gone all day. I just saw that it was nice and clean.
Marbella is a place with great potential, so I look forward to see the changes when I come back next year. (I also hope that there's no longer pay per view with only one channel, and that there's no more cigarette-butts laying here and there.)
So - It's not luxury, but for the price I think it's ok.More
