Great for the beach,15 min walk to the yumbo
watch out for youths trying to talk their way in through the security gates sayin they have friends there .
kitchen basic and found not enough sockets around the place for gadgets.
we stayed on lower pool floor and found it quite dark.
The staff are excellent and polite.
no aircon or fans ,would be quite uncomfortable during the heat of summer but ok for the cooler months.
bars and restaurants nearby for all types of budgets

The apartments had everything you needed for a self catering holiday.
Everything was clean and staff were friendly and polite.
The pool area was nice and clean and we used this a lot as the weather was really good.
A lot of mixed guests couples of all ages and families.
Not many groups of youngsters so to speak.
The beach was lovely but was very windy.
We only wanted to use the place as a bass as we like to eat out for evening meals.
Oh what an ordeal!
I have holidayed in Tunisia and not been hassled anything like we were here.
It was persistent.Every step you took a different tout or seller would insist on talking to you.
Walking around what we thought were even the quieter areas there were sex clubs, prostitutes both male and female and a few transgender.
After a few days we gave up and bought food at the supermarket and cooked ourselves.
The cat problem in the resort is pretty horiffic too.
Mother cats with litters of tiny kittens everywhere.
Cats with chunks of missing fur, covered in scabs.
We took a bus to Puero Rico and spent the day there.
That was only marginally better than Playa del Ingles.
I have holidayed in San Antonio(family hotel)with my children.I knew PDI would be lively and vibrant with loads of nighlife.I also know the resort has a large gay scene.I have quite a few gay friends so wasn't phased by this.
I didn't bargain on all the sex clubs and prostitutes hanging around all parts of the resort.
There are many family hotels here and it's sad that outside your hotel children are exposed to this.

I wanted a quick inexpensive getaway to some sunshine and found the Guinea apartments online. I would not normally go self catering but these apartments came in 300 pounds cheaper than the cheapest half board alternative so I budgeted 300 for food and drinks during my seven night stay, I actually come home with money. The location of this property is ideal with grocery store only a 3 minute walk away. Apartment is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, microwave, cooker, fridge freezer, toaster coffee maker (just pour through water if you want to make tea). There is a safe and TV with hire charge but we didn't use these. You are a five minute walk from the beach and you can walk along the beach to the sand dunes and round to maspalomas light house if you wish. There are many many bars and restaurants with a five minute walk and all nightlife is close by, if you are heading towards the Yumbo this is about a fifteen minute walk away. Apartment is very clean and the maid will come in daily and even did the washing up! The block is looking a little dated and the furniture could do with updating but that said my stay was very comfortable and I didn't see a single cockroach which was very surprising considering I was on the ground floor, I have stayed at other 5 star properties on this island and seen many cockroaches. There is a swimming pool (not heated) and sun loungers and the pool area gets the sun all day. There is not a 24 hour reception but this really didn't bother us we just went at the advertised time to change some English money, the exchange rate was better than those offered at the airport. Hector the receptionist was very friendly and a mind of information. My only moan would be the limited hot water that allowed only a five minute shower but ounce I was aware of this we made do and this really was not a major problem. So would I stay here again? for the price I paid you bet I will. Some other reviewers have not been so kind and my advice to them is if you want to pay for five star then don't come here, if you want an excellent location with excellent bars pubs and eateries then this is the place for you, remember you get what you pay for and the Guinea apartments are real value for money.

Room Tip: I stayed on the ground floor which was very quiet and there was no road noise. For the convenience o...

1st time at guinea, 4th jan-11th, arrived late at night, buzzer intrercom by the gate told us we were in room 701and how to get there, lift to top floor, key was in the door, one bedroom apartment, good size balconey, rooms are clean and basic, microwave, two ring cooker, toaster, pots, pans etc, i would recomend to take a kettle,£5.00 asda special, very light, made life easier when making home brought tea and coffe, cheaper than in the shops, when the sun rose that 1st morning the views were stunning, just fantastic overlooking the pool but with an180 degree sea view,do be careful if you do get this room as there are nudists on the roof of the hotel complex next door, its a 3 mins walk to the beach, 3 mins to kasba centre, the rooms are basic but very clean, sheets, changed every other day, towels every day, the pool and surround is cleaned and tested every day, hector, the gentleman on reception is very kind and very helpful nothing was too much trouble, even took us to the bus stop when we wanted to go to las palmas and told us it was the no 30 bus and only cost 6 euros each and took 30 mins to get there,
i would recomend the top floor as the views are stunning, there are two lifts so no up and down stairs , the views, the location, hector on reception you would be very hard pressed to get better with the price you pay for this apartment, the hotel next door to this apartment pay £120 a night, the apartments are always full so good luck when booking

Room Tip: top two floors for the stunning sea views

stayed here Oct31-Nov7, picked this hotel for price and location, which were both excellent.
we were in a 1 bed studio on 3rd floor, room was decent sized, small balcony with enough room for the 2 of us and table, chairs. bathroom was tidy enough, small bath, reasonable shower, w.c and bidet, and basin, only minor moan was that the hot water was fed through a water heater the size of a microwave so filling a bath or taking alternate showers resulted in water running out.
Kitchen had the usual 2 ring electric cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, seemed to have all the basic cooking stuff but we ate out every night so didn't use it much. no kettle, I assume you have to rent one but save your money and boil water on the hob. T.V with no controller, I assume you have to rent this as well but why would you come here and sit inside watching crap when theres so much to do here? cleaned daily except sun. no complaints about anything, You get what you pay for! and we did , a decent enough room with no frills, great location for beach, Kasbah, Yumbo, would stay here again

Room Tip: turn right out of hotel and use 76 steps to beach or turn left then right and there is a lift. top...
