Second stay as enjoyed it last year. A friend accompanied us and paid a lot for a single supplement for what appeared to be a cupboard with windows screwed shut. Dreadfully hot so don't come here in your own.
Having said that the waitresses are so hard working and the food is plentiful it's difficult to imagine anyone not enjoying their stay. Pool area is great, but as with ALL hotels, lots of towel reserved seats for those who didn't even swim! This is rude and should be stopped by the hotel. Spa is amazing, especially the dead sea.
Next year we will try somewhere new as the place is getting a little bit tatty. The evening entertainment is laughable and eventually drove us bonkers as it's impossible to escape being so loud. We though it may be a ploy to get people to leave!

We have just returned from the Eugenia Victoria and apart from a couple of ignorant waiters in the Drago bar (who seemed to 'stand around' in the le palmyre terrace between 12 and 4 very occasionally) you cannot fault the staff; they are absolutely brilliant and so hardworking. Even the bossy boots in the pool bar was always singing but very dominant and off putting. I managed to get told off twice in the same week for asking for wine and then not trilling of an order all in the same sentence for two; so I just avoided her for the rest of the 2 weeks we were there. The evening waiters and waitresses in the Le Palmyre terrace cannot be faulted, so polite and so hardworking and trying to share a joke with you, they are exceptionally hard working people.

The food was absolutely fine better than the Riu we stayed at last year and the lunch time offering in the Le Palmyre terrace was as good any a la carte menu in the UK and reasonable; even if you were not all inclusive. As for all inclusive where else can you get steaks you cook on the stones yourself, veal carpaccio, a selection of pasta dishes - and all at lunch time between 12.30 and 3pm. It was brilliant.

The evenings were taken up by listening to the 3 different duo pairings and having a bop on the terrace or watching the animation team offering. I have to say in more years than I care to remember I have never seen such wonderful offerings from such a small team. If you go make sure you see their musicals offering on Thursday evenings - for just 3 people with limited props - their Phantom of the Opera was spellbinding, Tuesday and their salute to America was good and then on Wednesday their I think maybe new offering of Mamma Mia was absolutely brilliant and it took us all we could do to just sit in our seats and watch their set; we so wanted to be up and dancing with them.

The spa was very good but I do not like being in enclosed areas so once I realised I was so far underground gave it a miss after two visits.

For me the absolute only thing that lets this wonderful hotel and Cindy in reception down is the lack of air conditioning. I know the fan in the bedroom could be left on all day but it just did not cool the room down enough and also having paid for double beds, I was disappointed to find it was actually single beds pushed together. All in all I would go back but having been there when it was warm I would go maybe Feb, March or April when air con doesn't really matter - I hope.

Room Tip: We were in 435 and it was good for the limited amount of time we spent in our room. anything on tha...

Three adults arrived around 13.00 and were greeted by a friendly female receptionist who provided all info on the room, safe and dining. One of the booking vouchers was missing and i was shown where two PC's would enable me to print the necessary document. Although free use, they are slow and the document printed was same the one already produced, but she was happy with it and we were given our room swipe cards. The "L" shaped hotel has 4 lifts to support the 8 floors, our room was on 6th, with the balcony facing the pool area. (believe all rooms face onto the pool area). On entering the room, two large single beds make a double bed, two bedside tables and two large built-in wardrobes provide plenty of storage. Two bedside
lamps and a large yet noisy ceiling fan incorporating a lamp are controlled via wall or bedside switches, no air con, (a phone is also located on one of the bedside tables).
A toilet, bath with shower and curtain, wash basin, with worktop and broken hairdryer are available in the floor tiled bathroom, ok but would benefit from updating. The main lounge area has a small table, two chairs , sofa, and a side board housing the fridge, safe and flat screen tv. Rather disappointing that a room for 3 adults incorporated a sofa made up as the third bed, not what we experienced during previous stay at the Barcelo Margaritas, (was unavailable, hence our stay at Eugenia Victoria). The balcony has a white plastic garden table and two chairs and looks over a great pool area.
The ceiling of the bar area was being re-plastered during our stay but didn't impact on us. Entertainment is available in the main bar and also at the out door entertainment area.
The dining room is more modern, offering a wide
range of food, not all to everyone's taste but you won't go hungry given the choice. Only
disappointment was the amount of residents who decided to ignore the rule for gents to wear
long trousers for dinner.
The pool area is excellent but again frustrated that the rule relating to towels not being used to book sun beds is not enforced, especially when there are more than enough for everyone.
Summary, the hotel is a 3 star, requires modernisation of the rooms, lacks air conditioning in the
rooms, requires improved sleeping arrangements for 3 adult rooms, good variety of food on offer, nightly entertainment is more focused for older residents who are mainly German and Dutch.

Room Tip: 6th floor was good, west facing room provided plenty of sun in balcony towards end of day

Can't fault the hotel itself as it was Excellent, I found all the staff to be friendly and the food was what is expected of an all inclusive hotel. I personally did not the Playa Del Ingles itself but that is just my preference.

The beach is quite a walk away from the hotel and not the best really. I found Maspalomas and Puerto Rico a lot nicer an more to my taste.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the outdoor entertainment

JUST GOT BACK FROM THIS HOTEL IT WAS AMAZING i have been going abroad for many years and this was far the best hotel i have been in the spa centre is brilliant and free plenty of sun beds staff really helpful the bed rooms need a little up dating though we never went all inclusive but the drinks in the hotel were not expensive the food was good but it was based aroun the dutch i did not find the dutch a very freindly bunch and they dominated this hotel but other than that it is a very good hotel it also has a roof terrace with a hot tub up there though there is a hot tub near the swimming pool

Room Tip: this hotel is 8 floors high and the lift sevice is very good

If your booking a single room in this hotel think again ! On arrival I was allocated what can only be classed as a broom closet....so small with no window that opened. (I was later moved to a larger room with a window I could open)

As the restaurant/bar closes you are only given minutes before lights are switched off !

As to the clientele .....one word.....sleezy !

As with most all inclusive deals the food is pretty average and gets repetitive as the week goes on. But there was something we could eat most nights. The room and hotel we're clean and comfortable. The underground vital wellness spa is fab and a great escape from the mid day sun.
We weren't particularly bothered that there weren't many other British people there. It is very family focused which meant it was pretty relaxed and the evenings at the outdoor bar are pleasant but quiet. There is table service in the bar and staff are helpful and attentive until about 30 mins before the bar shuts when all of a sudden you become invisible! But you can still get served at the bar itself. A wider range of non alcoholic drinks would be nice.
The location isn't great for beach lovers, it's about 20 mins walk down hill, but the hotel runs a bus. Would recommend for those looking for a lazy week in the sun.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are handy for the pool, bar, and restaurant but can get noisy.
