Beverly Park Hotel

Spent a lovely week here in August with a teenager and a six year old; had excellent family room (basically 2 room suite with kitchen area) 3 balconies and fabulous see views. The décor is a bit dated but the hotel is spotlessly clean – towels & beds changed regularly; daily maid service. We were a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but a lot of the comments are not justified. The hotel is in Gran Canaria – if I wanted English pubs etc I’d have gone to Blackpool! First experience of AI and will definitely do this again – great value. The food was excellent and the waitresses very friendly. I suppose it depends whether you are the type of person who makes the effort to be friendly or not – we do – and have always found this to be reciprocated.
One member of staff on reception doesn’t speak English and if she was there she promptly passed us onto someone who could help without any fuss. The evening entertainment is geared towards Spanish but this is what you’d expect – on a ‘Spanish’ island.

Excellent choice of pools and very clean with plenty of loungers. The pool bar does use plastic cups, which may not be the best but is appropriate for safety around swimming pools.

The kids team are fantastic and get kids of all nationalities participating – makes for a much more relaxing holiday if kids are happy.

Overall I think this hotel has a good relaxing feel to it – I don’t know how many English families there were, I didn’t count them as it really doesn’t matter to me.
The location is excellent for the beach and not far to walk to shops etc – yes it’s up some steps but the hotel can’t be held responsible for that. Excellent bus service from just outside hotel was very reasonable.

I’d agree that this hotel doesn’t pander to “English tourists” but that is part of it’s charm. We’d be happy to stay here again.

The Hotel rooms are not very big and are in desperate need of decoration. We moved to another room but there was little improvement. We went all inclusive - big mistake. The Ai selection is very limited and you are expected to drink from plastic cups, the bar staff were miserable and rude. Any time we were served it was really painfull, we were treated as though it were a real inconvenience that we actually wanted something. The food was poor and seemed to reappear days later disguised as something else. I tried to move to another hotel but there was no availability. I did find 2 people at reception who were keen to help, but Im affraid it will take more than this to drag this sorry state out of the mire. We were fortunate enough to meet a nice family to have some fun with, but if we had'nt, I may have been tempted to throw a rope over the balcony and hang myself.

We arived after 12am and when we were given our room we faced the motorway and a bp garage after requesting a pool view.
The hotel its self is really nice and clean and the maids are really attentive and thourouly clean your room daily and give clean towels. There are 3 pools and these areas were also really nice however you do need to get up at 8am to get a lounger. We were all inclusive and found the drinks and snacks to be average the beer is about a third of a pint and is watered down.
Meals are buffet style and there is some choice especially meats and salads, but catered mainly to spanish.
Speaking of spanish the hotel was inindated, they were offered preferential treatment and took over the full hotel, myself and boyfriend found them to be rude and greedy. Mealtimes they barged in front and also at the bar.

Just arrived back after a week at the Beverly Park Hotel. It was perfect for us as we had teenagers with us who found plenty to do close by. The hotel is predominantly spanish holidaymakers so most of the entertainment is in spanish (but they do include everyone), I suppose this means that the hotel might not suit everyone but we loved it. The beach is literally across the road and you can walk for miles down the beach. The food was great always lots of choice there were plenty of loungers so no having to get up early which I refuse to do anyway on holiday. It was my first experience with all inclusive and I thought it was great. The staff were fantastic really helpful and cheery so I am suprised by some of the previous comments. Every bed in the hotel was replaced whilst we were there and the cleaners do a very thorough job everyday. The towels were replaced three times in our week. All three of our rooms had seaviews. I will definitely go back.

One thing i do see in all the reviews which i agree with is the cleanliness rating. The maids were great and we were especially thankful when our maid found a very special necklace we thought we had lost in our room.

As for the food, if your not open to trying new things this isn't the place for you. The restraunt has busy times and quiet times, we experienced both... you will better off if you go at the start of every meal as its more relaxed and less hectic. We did have a slight problem with one waiter but we could not fault the rest of the staff.
The bar staff were nice and helpful, you'll find their happy if you try at least a little spanish, they do wonderfully at what they are there for. The snack bar was probibly the biggest suprise as it was awesome and saved time going for dinner or buying snacks. The cake was amazing!! The restraunt does have the same old food on so for a change i'd recommend snack barring at least once :D
The location wasn't ideal for everyone in our party, although taxis are nice and cheap but vary in price alot so don't worry about it if they cost differently.
The room was your basic room, no problems except from the balcony view but we didn't use the balcony much as we were out alot. The tv doesn't have an english speaking channel but broaden your language knowledge and you can pick up whats happening in most of the things.
The staff are sometimes a bit glum but not to be faulted as they provided the service you pay for and do their job. The entertainment isn't the best but your kids will have fun at least as the kids team is awesome... they always try and rope kids in to do things and believe me... theres alot to do!!

The hotel does have some problems but the only ones we were bothered about were the pool rules, it made it hard to have fun in the pool although the beach is only spitting distance away so its not that big of a problem. The games room also has dodgy tables in there... so avoid using them unless you want a laughable game of pool :)

Overall, i would say don't go here if your a picky person who expects the typical tourist enviroment... this hotel won't cater to your needs if your not open to new things.

Where to start, well hotel's clean and quite, foods not to bad but not great, pools are nice beach great 2min walk. Thats it, the sevice is awful, waiters, waitress's and bar staff if your english you are a 2nd rate person they can't be bothered to communicate with you they don't even crack a smile, now if your spanish totally different. There is NO English entertainment what so ever not even music unless you like the birdie song, and that somes this place up really stuck in a timewarp completley unfreindley to english speaking people. don't listen to your travel rep (ours was co-op in Northwich Cheshire )told us aload of bull even after reading reveiws like this one, they said "not to pay any attention to them" you have been warned. Playe del Ingles great though be lucky where you stay.
