“Hotel really needs to be refurbished”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

Hotel needs to be refurbished. Last night on our vacation ended with that a water pipe broke and our room flooded with water. Poor person under our apartment had water dripping through the ceiling.
Toilet and wash basin were loose. Cupboard door hanging loose. Sloppy repairs done in many places.
This hotel should really not be recommended and used by Apollo travel agency

Just got back from the Koka, had a great week. Room was nice with a big balcony overlooking the pool. We were on the 4th floor so no noise. Beds were comfy slept really well. Location is great, over the road from the Kasbah centre and round the corner from the Yumbo.
Would stay at the Koka again.

just had 1 month in the Koka apartments and it was great. staff very helpful. bedding and towels changed regularly. very basic but in central position with bus stop just outside. pool area brilliant, cleaned every morning, pool bar serves good reasonably priced food. We had large south facing balcony and large apartment, worth upgrading from a studio which are quite small and not south facing. can recommend but do not expect 5 star.

Room Tip: go for no. 1 block and choose higher floor, then you dont hear disco noise

The koka is in a good spot ,but if you like swimming in the pool put your wet suit on. Studios are very tied and dated. There is a lot to do in and around the area . At night it is very noisy due to the night clubs

These apartments are basic but very nice... the staff are welcoming and the place is very clean.
The only thing we had a problem with was the noiseas there is a club right underneath the hotel open from 3am-7am, you can only hear the music etc if you are on the ground floor which we were. the next day i asked very calmly to be moved rooms and within a day we were moved to the 4th floor without charge or hasstle... From then on there were no problems, very pleasant stay!

Room Tip: Request a higher floor and refuse ground floor (unless you plan to be in the club)

Where do I start on how horrendous this hotel is!

My boyfriend and I just got back from a week staying in the koka apartments.

The room - Firstly it is run down from front to back, the bed sheets where dirty, the wardrobe and kitchen doors where broken. The tv didn't work. The tap in the kitchen sprayed very small shards of metal out and cut and stung our hands when we tried to use it. The hob tripped the electric off when we tried to use it. Some of the lights didn't work.

The balcony door is incredibly hard to open unless you are an unusually strong women or man.

The STAFF! Rude, Arrogant, Un-Helpful! Especially Toni at the reception, he was an incredibly rude man who acted like talking to us was just a hastle!

My boyfriend bought a "ck1 shock" aftershave set which was stolen from our room!

The only good thing I can say is that the location is very good but there are soo many better hotels in the area!

I'm not just being petty writing all this, I booked this hotel expecting cheap and cheerful but honestly, it is just HORRENDOUS!

Just got back from ten days in gran canaria staying at a koka apartment. We were given a lowe ground floor apartment directly over a basement nightclub called nikki open seven nights a week from 3am to 7am, a couple mornings it was nearer 8am when the music finished. The walls literrally vibrated and we could hear eveyone screaming and shouting. We are not prudes and love the playa del ingles nightlife, we liked the location of these apartments as they are central and close to yumbo centre but never again, we didn't have one nights decent sleep came back totally wrecked. The manager wasn't surprised by our complaints and agreed it huge problem but wouldn't do anything for us as they had full occupency. We got a raw deal and feel koka really greedy to let these apartments out as they are aware of the issues and just don't care. I would never risk it again. Don't take a chance with these cowboys.
