First time here and my family and I were very impressed. All spotlessly clean and very helpful staff. Resort surprisingly quiet considering it was half term week, as was the hotel. We tried to add another person to the booking but was told the hotel was full so wasnt possible. We couldnt have seen more than 20 people for the whole of our stay so was disappointed that someone missed out on a lovely holiday (down to the company we booked through I assume, not the hotel) No battling for sunbeds as the pool area was mainly empty. Only ate once in the restaurant and that was to have breakfast on our last morning. Food was lovely with plenty of variety. Can't really comment on the entertainment as we didnt see any. I think that was mainly down to the fact that there were so few people stopping there. Drinks and food were more expensive than in the actual resort. Location is a bit out of the way. Took us about 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the beach and cost us 2 euros fifty in a taxi to get back (bit uphill going back to the hotel and was just feeling a little lazy). We had a two bedroom bungalow and this was lovely. Very spacious and the kitchen was the best equipped I've ever seen in all my years of travelling. Large patio area and also roof area to sunbathe on. Two bathrooms came in very handy when getting ready to go out. Not sure I'd go to Playa del Ingles again as we preferred Porto Rico after visiting there for the day,(sea is calmer and cleaner) but if we did, we would certainly have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.

been going to this place for 15 years and I cant fault it except for the noisy arrogant dutch kids and parents at school holiday time. Apartments are big with a balcony the size of a bed room. If I don't get a room a like, I get it changed within a day. the staff are more than friendly and all speak perfect English...nothing is too much for them to do. The pool gets crowded during the day and very noisy at times. bring your earphones!!!!. One major bug is the sol entertainers blast a very loud "good morning good morning etc etc at 10.30 am. Breakfast finishes at that time, but if you want a bit of kip in the morning after a wild night.....beware.......it can get ultra noisy. This is a family establishment so all this is for the kids. If you have a young family, then this is perfect. There is a great terrace bar outside and an inside bar as well. Haven't tried the wifi.......its a bit expensive.......go out to any of the pubs and they have free wifi. If you want to lie in, put the do not disturb sign on the outside of the door......and believe me......you are not disturbed all day haha. Its just across the road from the Yumbo and a good 30 min walk to the beach and there are loads of ATM's up the road. It's a good 20 min walk to the Irish centre but a taxi will only cost 3 eur. Book bed and breakfast. You can eat as much as you want for 9 eur...it's a buffet, so pile your plate up before all the dutch scoff the lot haha. Go there .........it's great

Room Tip: ask for 4th or 5th floor room numbers ending in 60 to 65.....that's the sunny side and the balco...

First time at this hotel and would definitely go again. There were four of us in a 2 bed bungalow, we had plenty of private outdoor space, a patio area and a roof terrace. The rooms were basic but fit for purpose, the cleaners were amazing especially Pino, we left a large tip for her.

The hotel is about a 5 min walk to the Yumbo centre, which meant it was convenient but not to close that is was noisy. Didn't think much of the food but for the price we paid I didn't really expect anything fancy.

The hotel was ok. They make you pay for WiFi, but it didn't work. We had to get our money back and used the slow internet they had in the lobby that you have to pay for. The breakfast was the same every morning. They did not clean our room everyday. Overall, I think the hotel is overrated.

Hallo robsbel, I want to inform you that wifi is already free of charge. Regarding to cleaning, it is very strange, as it is one of the thing better valued by our clients, anyway, we will check if something unusual happened during your stay.

Just back from a weeks stay at the Barbacan, Hotel staff were friendly and helpful on arrival.
We had a 2 bedroom apt in the main hotel overlooking the pool, Rooms are modern and very clean, Balconys were huge and had 2 sunbeds with pads and a table and chairs, they even supplied pool towels in the room on arrival.
Pool bar/restaurant is where breakfast is served(which is just ok) bar staff friendly and not grumpy unlike a lot of hotels in Spain!
Large pool, kids pool and jaccuzzi all very nice,
Only one niggle, Wifi, they charge 20 euros a week for it, there was three of us all with IPods and we thought it was 20 euros for the family, but sadly it's 20 euros per device!! Very expensive, this should be 20 euros per family if not free seeing as your staying round the pool drinking and eating from their bar spending money.

Nice hotel and the apartments are very nice, restaurant in the morning are very polite, the one downside was the buffet breakfast was not allowed to run low when i asked for bacon i was told wait 15 minuted, when i did arrive it was only just cooked, otherwise it was an enjoyable stay.
