“Lovely pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2014

Staff are really friendly! The lady outside who worked for the red cow we spoke to everyday and made us feel very welcome. Food is really good and good value for money, can't wait to visit in when we go back in June 2014!

“Shabby, poor service & inedible food!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

Went to watch football and three of us had lamb chops. They were absolutely inedible - tougher than old leather! Service was slow, and whereas some of the staff were pleasant, others were downright unpleasant & rude. There was absolutely no atmosphere and the place could badly do with a makeover. It looks very shabby. Also we had to pay to use wifi! There are many other places in Playa del Ingles to watch football and get good food at very reasonable prices, and get free wifi.

hi. thank you for your review. I would like to inform you that we are in the process of reprinting the menu and it will be without the lamb chops as you are not the first to mention them and we have tried various suppliers all with similar problems.

We also have been able to offer 10 minutes free wifi to our customers now. This isn't the UK and the internet here is awful. We use a private company to enable our customers to have high speed. If we had an open wifi zone it would have huge amounts of traffic and would be too slow to make you happy about receiving it free. it would be a waste of time. we only charge 5€ for a week's wifi and its good speed and reliable. when Gran Canaria goes fibre optic we may be able to review our situation.

Another thing, when you come back again you will see a change as we are in the middle of a slow 6 month makeover. it is not feasible to revamp all in one go so we are reviewing bit by bit and making the most of what we can. Issues we have are that we are not allowed to change certain things in communal areas because of building rules ie all the hideous blue canopies - gotta keep em yuk !

With regard to the waiter/ess who was not up to scratch, could you please pm me with a little more info so that I can deal with this too. description or date and rough time or anything you could tell me would be more than helpful

thank you so much for your input. come back again and see the changes and try a steak ! we are always told our steaks are better than any steakhouse here or in the UK

“Decent for a snack or a drink watching the game!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2014

Good menu and decent prices and the food was of a good standard.

Several TV's showing Sky News and live sports etc but the bar in general lacks a bit of atmosphere.

Lovely polite staff and good service.

Worth a visit for a cheap and cheerful lunch or to watch the football with a beer!

As previously mentioned it's a shame that they charge for wifi!

Thank you for your review. Its always nice to hear good comments.
Just to update you re wifi. we now offer the first 10 minutes free, which is usually time to just check your emails or send some messages etc. The reason we charge for wifi is because we use a private company to ensure excellent speeds and service for our customers. This isn't the UK, and Gran Canaria is way behind on internet etc. We're not even using fibre optic cables as yet. If we had an open wifi the connection would be slow and a waste of time during busy periods and we do not want to provide a second rate service. There are places here who offer free wifi but they usually only have about 8 or 10 tables maximum, whereas we provide wifi to over 300 people often with the restaurant upstairs and downstairs both full. It is a bugbear of many people that we charge but it's only 5€ for a whole week and we don't profit from the service. As and when Gran Canaria catches up on technology we will be able to provide free wifi to everyone. I understand your comment which is why I wanted to explain our situation to you in full.
I hope you'll come out and see us again at some stage in the future. All the best
