“Reasonable stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

Stayed at Tenesoya for 5 days in february 2013. Really quiet, and only about 5 of the bungalows had guests in, so pool/ sunbeds etc no problem. Apartment was fine- clean, tidy with everything there you might need. Wifi available depending what side of the apartment you were standing in, but at least was there! Little odd not to be manned 24hrs, but ll secure enough. Would stay there again- cheap and cheerful stay.

Visited there to see my mate Mark last January, he was having problems connecting to WIFI , it kept breaking up so took him to my apartment to use our wifi. it annoyed him because he paid alot of money to stay there.
Everything is so old, and needs alot of refurbishment. room charges overpriced.

We have been in the bungalows Tenesoya in January, are very nice, something old, but we have seen some that are already renovated bungalows, and the truth is that they are precious. In general lines are nice, clean, quiet, and very well located, close to bus stops and supermarkets.
There is a great atmosphere for staff. We recommend, did a lot of friends from different countries, and hope to meet in the bungalows Tenesoya

This place was actually pretty good - once.

But it seems rather obvious that its (current?) owner can't afford maintenance, nor anything else that could help.

As of today, it has exactly one feature that's positive: You get a calm and relatively noiseless stay.

I really wish the owner luck, but they have to use some kind of magic to survive. Meanwhile, it's far too expensive. It can't attract enough guests.

Unfortunately.

The signs were not good when we arrived to be greeted by prostitutes plying their trade on the street corner. We let ourselves in using the keys pegged to the post box as there was no-one to greet us. No access to the safe. It is hardly any wonder that someone else was broken into during the same week! We had booked and paid for two bungalows. One had no hot water, the other no working electrical sockets. In the second bungalow a socket came out of the wall along with the plug. Both bungalows were infested with enormous cockroaches. The cleaner provided us with a spray can to kill them with! Next door there was a dog that took a nocturnal dip in the pool along with its owners. The poolside is bare concrete with a few loungers but only three umbrellas for everyone to share. Having paid for nine nights we nevertheless left after one. We were told that there was no refund available. Luckily we were in a position to be able to afford to move to a hotel. I have never stayed anywhere so depressing in my life.

I had heard in advance that the reception to this complex is only open for a few hours per day for I emailed twice to the address provided by booking.com.to advise them i would be arriving after 20.00hrs and need to know what would hapen regarding the keys and Safe. I recieved no reply and eventually connected Booking.com. They did reply but did not address the question." We have spoken to the Bungalows Tenesoya, and they have advised that you must request the extra set of keys and use of the safe upon your arrival."
We arrived at the complex and found it locked. After a time another guest arrived and told us we may find the keys in the letter box! There were 2 envelopes both with my name keys to 1 and 9. We eventually found the bungalow 1 was a single and 9 was a double( we had booked a double) So much for a great start we had one set of keys and no safe despite specifically emailing ahead. We put the other key back in the letter box as this was obviously for some other guest (so much for security!) We spoke to other guests who had also been stranded outside.
Next day reception did not open at all! So we were left with one set of keys and no safe for 36 hours. Reception(actually just a general handyman who was less than friendly to put it mildly) eventually opened on the friday morning and we were given a second set of keys and a safe key to one of the oldest safesI have ever seen.
The rooms were clean and the cleaner was pleasant.
The beds were VERY uncomfortable in one of the rooms. The tv had only a few channels mainly german no English at all.Sun loungers very hard and had no soft covers. The CD player did not work. The hot water just about lasted for one short shower. The towels were small and did not smell that fresh once they got damp.
I have stayed in Gran Canaria more times than I care to mention and this is by far the worst experience I have had and has definately put me off 'gay' accomodation. If the accommodation had been cheap then there may be some excuse.Cost 693 euros a week for 2 bedroom bungalow.

My friend, my partner and I stayed at the Tenesoya apartments in early December. On arrival (around 8pm) we genuinely wondered if it had been closed down- all lights were off, the gate locked and we could not get through to them on the phone. Eventually someone turned up and let us in but not the best start. The complex was very quiet with only another one or two bungalows occupied. (Booking.com had showed only a couple of rooms left, so I assume this was just their allocation).

Both rooms were disappointing to say the least. The 70's decor and
furniture are forgiveable - but the clear lack of maintenance conveys
the owners obvious lack of any regard for guest comfort. Doors don't
open properly, electric fittings are loose (my friend got an electric
shock he could still feel the next day). The hot water is virtually
non-existent; a dribble of a shower that goes luke warm after 2
minutes. No chance if we'd wanted a bath (as it goes the rust stain in
it put us off anyway). The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets
clearly old. The maid only visited twice.

The grounds weren't totally awful but the pool could do with a clean
and the ashtrays weren't emptied at all.

In terms of quality of the accommodation and of the service this hotel
was acceptable- if it had been half the price. It was not especially
cheap (certainly costing more than some of the straight hotels that I
have stayed at here). It seems to me that the owners of the tenesor are trading on being one of the (still relatively few) gay only establishments in gran canaria and apart from this there is really no reason to stay here. Avoid.
